Tameside Council dragging feet in replying to New Charter FoI request.

A Freedom of Information request made to Tameside Council has not been replied to by the required time.

The request, check here for original details, should have received a reply by Monday 24th February. It concerned the transfer of land from Tameside MBC to the New Charter organisation. A reminder has  been sent to the council. Further action is expected if no reply is forthcoming.

A REQUEST:

Could Roy West please put his youtube videos on the unlisted option.

You appear to have uploaded 1000s of videos on to the site filmed in and around Tameside. This means that if I or anyone else wishes to search up local videos it is now impossible to find many things because any search result for Tameside is spammed with an endless list of your videos.

When you select the upload option, you will see a drop down box in the centre of the screen where you can either select public private or unlisted. Please could ensure that you select unlisted with each upload so they don't clog up search results for anyone wishing to look up videos about Tameside.

This is a sincere request. It is wrecking anyone's ability to search for locally themed videos on youtube.

Sounds interesting maybe they've got something to hide?

What sanctions (if any) are applicable to authorities that fail to respond in a timely fashion?

Tony Blair said, that his biggest regret was bringing in the Freedom of information act.
And this is why.

@Reimer.

Good question. If the council replies late they can be admonished or criticised by the OIC (Office of the Information Commissioner). They can be placed under special measures or monitoring if they persist ( As happened with Manchester City Council).

If Tameside do not reply by the end of the week I shall request an Internal Review.

@Anonymous 08:37
Yes indeed he did. And this IS why. I remember Cllr Taylor lamenting in council some time back that FoI requests had (allegedly) cost the council £20k, all the time glaring at Mr Liam Billington and myself. It should not be up to individuals like us to be doing this, it should be the local press. But this is Tameside.....

Well done for this FOI request is one of the top legislated rules introduced by the EEC,don`t knock it without this last remnant of finding out the truth democracy would have ended in the UK.
Voting regulations,Local and National Politicians would enhance their control over everyone, and the press would be gagged completely.
Yes UKIP has advantages but killing off the FOI legislation would be a disaster.
As for what the penalties are if organisations fail to abide with FOI legislation as a ANON mentioned why not trying to establish for yourself the means, what rights you have, and where to submit complaints to its all on the net and its time for the public to educate themselves with easily and available redress
data.
Thats what is failing in the UK
the population leaves educating itself to the incomers and illegals who are clued up on everything
Time millions woke up to learning for themselves and stop relying on others to do the donkey work.

I was reading up on new charter's evidence gathering on anti social behaviour.
Charter rely on CCTV evidence in most cases.
Roy West has been accused of continuous low-level harassment.
Yet, despite Roy West and his family being secretly filmed.
New charter offer no CCTV footage of this low-level harassment WHICH Roy West is supposed to have done.
It's very interesting to look at all the allegations against Roy West, but the biggest gap is the CCTV evidence.
I thought CCTV was there to show evidence, then where is it all?
Surly new charter would be eager to show it.
If Roy West had done anything anti social in his front garden, name calling, abuse, it would have been recorded for sure. So where is the evidence?

Re local Press scrutinisation of the authorities, the former are snugly tucked in the ruling clique's back pocket and just keep quiet and take the offered scraps from their masters.

@27/02/2014 00:37 so how many his he allowed to upload then?
Is there a set amount of YouTube videos you can upload?

Is there a set limit to how many videos you can upload on to YouTube?
Why should he put them all onto unlisted? His videos are about Tameside that's why they come up under Tameside.

Just as long as it takes to get a post visible on here.

@request

I agree that Roy West should stop spamming youtube. I have reported him for spamming but no action seems to have been taken.

@00:37 send a message via-his YouTube account I'm sure he'll be happy to discuss the matter.

For the person who cannot read or is just plain thick, I wasn't requesting that Roy West refrain from uploading videos to youtube.

I was asking that he have them on the unlisted option, as searching videos related to Tameside is being made impossible when search results are clogged up with thousands of West's videos. This keeps videos out of search results.

If Roy West is happy to permanently wreck youtube in this way for those interested in local matters then I can't stop him. It was a request and a perfectly reasonable one to make.

Has anyone tried establishing which Councillors live in Council or New Charter Homes.or maybe Sheltered accommodation.
Its time we really delved into how big the perks are,,compared with those having to buy and maintain their own homes.

Roy's posts have never bothered me on YouTube, they will be a great insight for future generations into the present time (should we still have a functioning first world civilisation then) that and I suppose I never bother looking up tameside on there. As soon as I close the front door tameside ceases to exist for me, that's the one great thing about bricks and locks, once I'm at home all of the shit that surrounds my house no longer has a hold on me.

@ 16:12 report him for breathing.

@19:28 there's billions of videos on YouTube.
Why should he unlist his videos?
So how many should he be allowed to unload then in you're view?

There's billions of YouTube videos on this site, why don't you ask them all to use the unlisted option?

This guy's filming people on the tram, it's persecution against roy west. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n6EDBMZ5F8g

West's videos will be interesting to future generations SS? What, four hundred thousand 20 second gorps at buildings vehicles and bumsed passer-bys, all drowning out every other Tameside video on the site in the search facility?

Just because West and his bestest friends inhabit this blog doesn't mean that the man's habits (so to speak) cannot be questioned.

SerpentSlayer said...

And clips of Victorian England however brief would be uninteresting?
What if we had video footage of Elizabethan era London?
I imagine that would be uninteresting to us as Roy's clips will be two those in one or two centuries time.

Congratulations West, you're wrecking youtube for anyone who wants to search up Tameside videos that don't include your thousands of inane visual musings.

Do you think Tameside on youtube should be all about you and your 30 second clips? If you're so selfish and thoughtless as to spam the website in this way drowning out all other videos of local interest then feel free.

There is a way to filter out Roy West on youtube. On the filter option on youtube order the search results according to view count. This will push nearly all of West's videos right to the back since they all receive hardly any views. As it happens, a simple one word search of 'tameside' does filter out west on the basis of 'relevance'. Quite telling I'd say.

55 videos uploaded in 48 hours. The man wants certifying. That means he could upload about another 300,000 in his lifetime. That is what vids on yt about Tameside are going to be competing with. I think they call it obsessive compulsive disorder.

@14:41 not at all question away, unlike Roy Wests critics, they think everything on here is an attack on them.

@14:41 Question the man's habits but don't join the hate filled gang of ugly rumour spreaders.
You sound like this man, he's more concerned with attacking Roy West in this victory speech, than winning the election.

@21:01 if you can filter them out then stop moaning.

Anonymous said...

@21:01 somehow I don't think he cares about how many views he gets.
West's channel has reached 100,355 views.
I get the feeling he's keeping certain obsessed new charter enforces busy.

Thanks for the heads up on how to filter west

Unfortunately there's no limit to how many videos you can upload on you're YouTube channel.

@ 17:40 good luck with keeping YouTube spam free.

Maybe West is a nuisance on YouTube and a bit weird, but he has at least managed to regularly get under the skin of some extremely unpleasant and two faced local bigwigs in the last few years.
He's also taken a lot of abuse from many quarters for standing up for his country when representing, canvassing and leafleting for 'unacceptable' parties, that millions of Brits tacitly support but are too cowardly to say so.
His mistakes and obsessive nature etc are easy to attack, but in my view are vastly outweighed by his significant and worthwhile contribution to patriotism and campaigning against the local political mafia.
Let's hope he soon gets back on the campaign trail, where even the mention of his name puts up the back of certain very senior local officials.
