Roy West Jailed

Today local film maker and anti-corruption campaigner Roy West was jailed for fourteen weeks in what surely must be one of the gravest miscarriages of justice in the recent history of Tameside.

Roy West was jailed for the heinous crime of mentioning a neighbour in a video. The video can be viewed in its entirety below. Yes, you did read that correctly. The judge, whose ancestral roots are other than European, saw it fitting to jail Roy West for saying the word "neighbour" in a video posted to Youtube.

Roy West was a man of good character until his entry into politics which led to his well publicised campaign regarding the vast sums of money taken from the public purse by low calibre local Labour councillors under the guise of 'expenses'.

Roy is currently being held in the notoriously violent Forest Bank prison pending a transfer to another jail. His vulnerable partner of who Roy is a government registered carer is said to be inconsolable following the loss of her partner and carer.

After the jailing it was reported that a notorious local councillor was observed hurriedly phoning people to spread the news while at the same time punching the air in jubilation.

While Roy West, a man who is of absolutely no danger to the public languishes in a prison cell, spare a thought for the child molestersperverts and violent criminals all of whom who do a pose a threat to public safety and who currently roam free, then ask yourself, what is going on in this once great country of ours.

Roy made mistakes no doubt, but in reality the failure to 'get his mind right' was his greatest 'crime'. Thinking the wrong way can see you end up in a lot of trouble in New Britain.

ANYONE could be next to get theirs if this is the way things are going to go.

In all fairness, it looks like West's neighbour has set his camera up for the specific purpose of catching West filming him in the blatant way he is doing in the footage. If Roy had a grievance about the positioning of his neighbour's security camera, he could either complain or set up similar camera equipment positioned likewise himself. Wandering about his garden with a video camera stuck right in his neighbour's face is asking for bother.

West's been sent down for referring to his neighbours in the video in his house not previously filming them.

Justice, what justice! said...

That may be so, but does it warrant a jail sentence?

TC refers to West as an 'anti-corruption campaigner'. Corruption is dishonestly (ie - illegally) obtaining money or goods. Has West actually uncovered any illegal goings-on amongst Tameside councillors?

corruption is rife said...

Yes, lots. Details will be published in due course.

Very sad, he doesn't deserve it.

Be careful, in a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act, and we have draconian anti-'terror' (i.e counter-revolutionary) laws. Goodbye Empire, hello Soviet Union of Europe.

Well in that case I'll wait in eager anticipation of all the juicy details about fiddling the books and dishonestly screwing the tax payer (and I'm not talking simply about t-shirts listing money claimed within legally set rules).

This illiterate poster is the type which has dragged Tameside down big time.
Go to Night School and take JT with you for a start.but leave some chairs empty for the next group of Labourites.
What shit is walking the street in Tameside, cor that reminds me of JT`s favourite subject.

They have both wasted police time Alf but one is sat in a high security prison cell while the other is free as a bird. It is the injustice of the situation that's wrong Alf, wouldn't you agree? Roy is a knob, but he's not a criminal and he shouldn't be in prison.

It's so sad to hear about Roy being jailed. He really doesn't deserve this kind of treatment over such a trivial matter.

Back in the 1950s, when common sense prevailed, a local bobby would have been despatched to knock heads together. Instead, the police made things worse by their ridiculously over-the-top reaction to the neighbour's original complaint.

It doesn't surprise me that Hindley is gloating over Roy going to jail. I told everyone that Hindley was not to be trusted and was more than likely an infiltrator, which most people agreed with.

Exactly how did Roy come to be in the possession of a disc with footage from his sworn enemy's CCTV from next door? Because unless he stole it, it looks to the casual observer as if it's evidence sent by the police of his continued harassment.

Those of us not born yesterday can see exactly what West is up to in the footage. He plays the innocent filming his garden one moment, and then the next he blatantly has the camera following his neighbour's every move. In other word's, he's deliberately trying to annoy him and make life uncomfortable for him in his property.

Now I'm no fan of mr and mrs Kreuger and their barking dogs, and neither do I think that West's behaviour warrants a custodial sentence. But let's not pretend he's some poor innocent angel in all this being victimised by sinister forces at work. He probably had warning after warning but was intent on pushing his luck. He should never have been prosecuted for calling someone a mildy offensive name, and neither should this have reached the courts. But following this saga you are inclined to think the chap's his own worst enemy.

West has been jailed for the crime of pursuing the truth and standing up to gutter politics, and generally for having a different political view from the "mainstream". Roy is not perfect, but this sentence is a ridiculous and artificial overreaction to a petty dispute which has a sprinkling of politics - even people who aren't fond of Roy can see this.

West should have stolen £109,000 off the taxpayer then instead of getting sent down he'd have got a pub and a road named after him.

Whatever mistakes West's made it was the politicised and PC nature of the utterly pathetic original prosecution for a bit of over the fence name calling that led to this.

Tameside is as "democratic" as The German Democratic Republic (East Germany) was!

I remember about 2006 in the Minto Street area there was a problem with youth gangs, so my wife and I organised a public meeting at the local school, which was cancelled after pressure was applied by the local beat bobby.

A replacement meeting was called at the "Hop Pole" pub.

The pub is on Cranbrook Street / Oldham Road. It backs onto the bottom of Minto Street.

On the evening of the meeting a large gang of youths were congregated at the top of Minto Street.

The police Video van turned up.
Was it:

a) parked at the Top of Minto Street monitoring the gang?

or b) Parked at the Bottom of Minto Street monitoring the peaceful meeting?

Need I say?

"B" surprise surprise!

Yes, we live in a zero crime country and when someone commits such a serious crime such as saying the word neighbour they should lose their liberty regardless of their good character and lack of criminal record. Meanwhile non-criminal politicians get applauded for rinsing the country by awarding themselves massive pay rises for the splendid work they do.

Thanks for the link. What some people fail to understand or willfully choose to ignore is that West has been a victim of long term and organised provocative. A former law enforcement officer with 30 years experience has been directing the show from the shadows. There will be full exposé on this in the near future but needless to say, he now earns his crust courtesy of the local gravy train.

Most people wouldn't have taken the bait each and every time as Roy West did and that is part of the sadness if this whole episode. The people who Roy West so magnificently exposed are not know as the Tameside Mafia for no reason. They purposefully set out to snare him through the use of proxies but sadly despite repeated warnings Roy fell into their trap each and every time.

West gets jail for saying the word neighbour yet this vile beast gets let off said...

A former synagogue cantor has avoided being sent to jail after he admitted making and distributing hundreds of images of child pornography.

Fashion company director Jeremy Lawson had resigned from his position at New West End Synagogue in Bayswater, west London, last year for “personal reasons”.

The United Synagogue discovered the real reasons for his departure only when he first appeared in court earlier this year.

But US officials reassured congregants that Lawson had not attended any services since last November.
Lawson was given a 16-month jail sentence, suspended for 24 months, at Isleworth Crown Court last Friday. He will also be supervised by probation officers for two years.

The 53-year-old, of Notting Hill, west London, will undertake 200 hours of unpaid work, pay £500 compensation and sign the sex offenders’ register for 10 years.

Lawson pleaded guilty to seven charges of making indecent photographs of children and a further three charges of distributing the images.

When he was arrested, police officers discovered more than 270 images of children, including more than 75 rated at the two highest levels of depravity under the Crown Prosecution Service’s sentencing guidelines.

Drink Drive Mayhem and Perverting The course of Justice = No Jail Say the word neighbour on a youtube video = straight to jail said...

Andrea Goulden, 38, caused mayhem on Hyde Road, Gorton, after she got behind the wheel after a drinking session.

A 29-year-old passenger in her car suffered broken bones in his neck, back and a rib. One of his ears was almost completely torn off after he was hurled from the Audi by the force of the smash. The 67-year-old driver of the car she hit had recently undergone a triple heart bypass, and suffered an angina attack at the scene, Simon Barrett, prosecuting, told Manchester Crown Court.

In the aftermath of the crash – which wrote off the pensioner’s prized Rover 75 – witnesses noted Goulden appeared unsteady and smelled of booze.

Goulden’s other passenger, Patrick Callaghan, racially abused a passer-by who challenged him for trying to ‘pick up’ his injured pal as he lay in the road. Callaghan then attempted to thump a police officer.

Goulden denied that she was driving the uninsured Audi A3 at the time of the smash, claiming in a trial that Callaghan was behind the wheel. Callaghan supported the story in a bid to protect his friend’s fledgling nursing career, but the jury didn’t believe either of them and Goulden was found guilty of a string of motoring offences. The 29-year-old man who was flung into the road has made a full recovery, but the pensioner has been left depressed by his ordeal and suffered further angina attacks, a problem he hoped his bypass had fixed.

Sentencing, Judge Michael Leeming said Goulden deserved to go to jail for the collision at 2.45am on March 18 last year, but drew back from locking her up on the spot when it was revealed she is a registered carer and instead imposed a a 12- month sentence suspended for fifteen months.

Most new fish come close to madness on their first night, only question is: Who's it gonna be?

I had my money on West. A limey mother fucker who called his neighbour a Kraut and got a 14 week stretch. He looked like a stiff breeze would blow him over, he couldn't have been more than 150 pounds wet through.

But HE NEVER MADE A SOUND.

In the summer of 2013 he asked the warden for a poster of Sandra Stewart for his cell wall, and a little rock hammer. He got everything he asked for.

West had a walk and a talk that just wasn't normal around here, most cons took him for snobby. He thought his shit smelled sweeter than most. He was a real cold fish, but I liked him from the start.

I tried to convince Roy on a number of occasions to move house away from New Charter housing into private rented. He shouldn't have to but staying there he made it easier for them to pick on him.

Personally though i would rather do the time than wear a tag and not put up with pointless restrictions that I would completely ignore.. In his case its his partner that willl suffer and I hope she is ok.

What a stinking, rotten borough this is. Year after year of the same group of chancers, self-seekers and incompetents in charge. Schools, hospitals elections all rotten to the core.
Too many of the same inferior, snouts in the trough brigade for too long. Too many cliques, too many 'good buddies' who look after each other in their own self interest and against the good of the area.
The ones really to blame are the 70% of the electorate who can't be bothered to vote or even take the most basic interest in the rotten goings on in their area.

Roy has made mistakes but every one does it's part of life but one thing that isn't right is all the till dipping that the politicians from Dukinfield do they don't have to que up in the post office or the bank when they get paid and they don't have to que up for busses in the freezing cold because they get chauffeurered round every where.

Although I have never been a fan of Roy and I find the party he represented vile. This has been nothing more than politically motivated the jailing of him. Unfortunately the law is on the side of those who use it for their advantage and the title given by Private Eye to tameside of "Rotten Borough" looks quite fitting. Yes the man is a buffoon but jailing him? Give me a break.
