Please, someone please tell me if I have cracked up and gone mad. I think I have or if I haven't, the country must have because when I read articles such as this about a corrupt police inspector who has been caught red handed and convicted for serious crimes but not sacked it makes absolutely no sense.
Have I read the article correctly and has this convicted criminal been suspended from being a police officer for two years but not sacked? If this is the case, what is happening to this country? How can the police be respected if people convicted of serious criminal offences are allowed to be police officers?
Does anyone remember the case of a local serving GMP police officer who was involved in a serious hit and run accident and attempted cover up? The accident happened in Ashton under Lyne and the attempted cover up which included respraying a car in a bid to escape detection warranted a long custodial sentence. What sentence did this officer receive, click here to find out. But if you cannot be bothered here is a clue, he is a minor celebrity who makes regular appearances on fly on the wall police documentaries in central Manchester.
Something is going wrong with this country, seriously wrong. It is as if the inmates truly are in charge of the asylum. Tameside Citizen
