Longdendale Siege Committee photo op

I had a brief but interesting chat with a member of the Longdendale Siege Committee this afternoon. A number of Siege Committee members were strategically positioned at the beginning/end of the M67 motorway at Hattersley handing out leaflets, one of which can be viewed by clicking the image above, and having their photographs taken by a gentleman who I believe was a syndicated MEN photographer. The photographer can just about be seen if you click the image below.

The Siege Committee members were in high spirits as they now believe the game has shifted in their favour and there is a real chance the Mottram By-Pass will soon be back on agenda.

The Siege Committee strategy is now focusing on the economic needs for the by-pass rather than as in past campaigns where they campaigned on lives of local residents being blighted by traffic congestion. The new approach is to campaign on the financial losses to individuals and industry as a result of wasted fuel and time as cars, vans and lorries sit in long queues which the Siege Committee claim would be alleviated should the by-pass be built.

Not one member of the Seige Committee, not one TMBC Councillor, and not one Tameside MP have been prepared to respond to a democratic open public forum debate with me.
Why ? because I would utterly and
totally destroy their false and deceptive comments with that many examples of substantiated and detailed accurate data, not one of them would have any credibility left whatsoever and I can assure anyone I tell the truth not the slanted deceptive rhetoric produced by the SC/Councillors and MP`s.
Not sure what time TC visited that location but on Radio Manchester this morning the Road Traffic report stated that traffic was jamming between the M67 and A57 Mottram Lights because a lorry had overturned.
Now check that out with Radio Manchester and put 2 plus 2 together.
J.Hall -where real huge and vast amounts of real pollution, noise and fuel wastage is occurring from 24 lanes of traffic 24/7, not the over the top claims from a single lane of traffic from the M67 to eastern destinations producing tiny everything compared with what we have, the difference is we do not lie, cheat and thereby attract the support of Councillors and MP`s.

The new Tesco megastore is going to increase the already horrendous congestion in that area when it opens soon. No doubt though we'll continue to hear the bizarre and skewed arguments from certain Denton busybodies about the perceived impact on their own quarter, as well as the grumbling greenfingered old prigs prattling on about the need to preserve some precious bit of greenery.

Usual level of dishonesty by Hall. counts to 24 lanes at Denton yet claims a single track through Longdendale. At the same time claims he is the only honest broker. Even the numpties on here know there are less than 24 through lanes at Denton and more than 1 at Longdendale.

Honesty not a strong point Hall?

M67/M60 Junction, 3 north, 3 south, 5 East, 4 West. Total 15.

Mottram Roundabout - 2 East, 2 West, 4 South/North Total 8

Or Mottram - 2 up the Hill, 2 down, 2 to/from Stalybridge, 2 to/from Broadbottom Total 8

Or Hollingworth Lights, 2 up the hill, 2 down, 1 to/from Glossop spur, 1 local. Total 7

'Preserve some precious bit of greenery.' Dead right.
If you want all the benefits of living near a conurbation you'll have to put up with the downsides. You're lucky enough to live in one of the nicest parts of the borough but it's still not good enough. Move to the Outer Hebrides if you don't like traffic.
And before you ask I live on a main road in the middle of the 'Dukinfield school zone' where the traffic is horrendous.
Urban greenspace needs to be protected especially as it will come under massive and increasing pressure in the next few years from the immigration led population explosion.

Anonymous said...

@J Hall

Since when did anyone refrain from improving traffic flow in one town in case it might negatively effect traffic conditions in another town?

We could all start that game chummy. Perhaps if someone puts their mind to it they'll find that some of the roads in Denton are situated and designed in such a way that negatively imapcts on traffic conditions in Hyde. Then perhaps Hyde residents should don the role of little JHs, and kick up a stink demanding that the people of Denton and their representatives start rethinking their road network.

In fact why stop there?? Perhaps Manchester should start telling Liverpool that its road network should be redesigned because of some vague perceived negative impact on traffic conditions here. Have the people of Mottram ever tried dictating to Denton people in such a way? Your arguments are fatuous, and really should leave the issue to the people of Mottram and butt out and mind your own business.

Actually we live on the border of derbyshire.. said...

The 'people of Mottram' don't own all the greenspace that's going to be decimated by the bypass. That will impact everyone who uses and appreciates it. Don't be so damned ignorant and selfish.

Anonymous said...

"will impact everyone who uses and appreciates it."

Dreadful - that will leave them with thousands of remaining acres of surrounding derbyshire / cheshire countryside to enjoy.

Actually we live on the border of Derbyshire said...

The land that will be built on provides easy, close and direct access to countryside for high volumes of people and significantly enhances the area. The 'thousands of remaining acres' will come under threat from the ongoing immigrant led population explosion very soon. No doubt you'll take such a cavalier approach as England, one of the most populous countries in the world (350% more densely populated than France for example) is concreted over.

I get the impression that a couple of people on here do not like Denton roundabout due to it's pollution bearing qualities.
I also get the impression that the same people have never travelled outside of Tameside, as it is an everyday occurence, up and down the country. (Great Britain)
The M8 (Glasgow).
The Aston expressway, Birmingham.
The M5, M6 Junction
The M25.
The Borough of Epsom & Ewell(t is the smallest district in Surrey in both population and size. It is the most densely populated and has the highest traffic congestion in The UK.)
Tht is to name just a small percenage of traffic congestion in The Uk.
If the Denton roundabout is so bad, can anyone provide a viable and economic solution to the pollution problem, apart from closing Hyde Rd down, which would just move the problem elsewhere.

BTW, when driving a HGV it is not economically viable to go upto the M62 then down the M1. Inflation is bad enough, without adding increased fuel costs to transport companies, which then translate into higher costs for the general public.
In summary, Denton Island is bad. Where should we move it to, and how much should workers expect thier community charge to rise to fund it.
IMO workers should be relokated to der countryside in brand new houses, and the workshy(Tameside seems to have only one or two. HARRHHaarrr)should be left to get on with breathing pollution, eventually qualifying for the disabilaty benefit they have been claiming for since the last labour government.
Just my opinion mind, can someone prove me wrong. XXXXXXX

Assumed interview with Andrew Gwynne Mp.
Mr Gwynne your Constituency covers the M67/M60/A57 location in Tameside.
Gwynne- Yes it certainly does.
Interviewer- In Denton and Audenshaw
47,000 people live is that correct.
Gwynne- That`s correct.
Interviewer- So what`s your already concerns about the M67/M60/A57 location which has homes as close as 50 metres.
Gwynne- Well I and my local Councillors have already stated it is the most traffic congested and air polluted area in the North which definitely concerns me.
Interviewer- Have you and your Councillors actually done anything about it over recent years,or made your Constituents aware of your concerns.
Gwynne- No I have not.
Interviewer- Why not Mr Gwynne?
Gwynne- Well to be honest I backed the previous ByPass plan but they discovered what I had said that in a letter I sent to someone in Sheffield so from then on I made sure I kept quiet.
Interviewer- Well does that not mean you now have no concerns about your Constituents living environment.
Gwynne- Well actually recently an E.Mail was discovered which referred to the local Councillors and myself stating it was the most congested and polluted area in the North.
Interviewer- Well what do you and your Councillors now intend to do??
Gwynne- I will much prefer to keep quiet because anyone living within 400 metres of this monstrous interchange or the M67/M60 Motorway will definately suffer health wise with very serious implications and those are the facts, and a possible loss of votes.
Interviewer- So whats going to happen now that already 375,000 daily vehicles including numerous HGV`s meet at the interchange and obviously it seems more and more vehicles are using this route.
Gwynne- Tough I do not want to carry on with this interview.
Interviewer Mr.Hall

Now someone contradict those facts.

So what Hall is suggesting is that the road network of all surrounding towns and regions may now have to be indefinately arrested and compromised because of this one hotspot where he chose to live. You chose to live by an extremely busy road, and if you can no longer stand it sell up and move.

It should have been glaringly obvious to anyone buying a house round there that the day may come when traffic volume increased, and now they don't like they're taking upon themselves to lay down the law to other people in other towns on exactly what roads they are or are not allowed to have. You couldn't make it up.

Nobody really needs to contradict your 'facts' to dismiss the mad suggestion that the entire surrounding region must have all future road development mothballed to assuage the paranoia of Denton busybodies.

Interviewer; Correct Mr Hall you're not an expert are you?
JH; No
Interviewer; you do read a lot Mr Hall but what specific qualifications do you have on the matter if traffic modeling and pollution?
JH; None
Interviewer; So you're just one person with an opinion like a lot of other people?
JH; Yes
Interviewer; And there is no evidence to show your opinion is correct?
JH; well I have been researching for years.
Interviewer; and you still live close to the intersection?
JH; Yes

I have never read such lies and distortions which are bellowed out by a bunch of people who cannot contradict my facts. As for having respect never ever has a region of Greater Manchester created such a
semi literate, with no commercial experience or technical capabilities group of widely known administration who history involves considerable financial sleaze for example TEL,and who are tied together in a sycophantic knot because without a mafia cartel style not one could exist because they lack the basic capabilities to administrate.
"Its you Brenda who sent the E.Mail
stating this locality wasw the worst congested and air polluted area in the North, you cannot forget that surely even with your very basic background.
I should respect you and your ilk
thats definitely the 2012 joke of the year, because my standards have, are, and always been far superior to any Labour Councillor in Tameside.
I voted Labour for 40 years until
I unlocked the facts appertaining to TMBC which were utterly disgusting and which should always be thoroughly investigated by all Tamesiders.
Where is the data about long living in Denton then, where exactly just show it,don`t just spout it.
My assumed interview with A Gwynne was 100% factual and accurate having discovered the truth which reflects on Gwynne and Local Councillors.
Whoever has tried to imitate an assumed interview with me is without doubt brain dead because I have qualifications on a wide range of subjects,I have studied traffic modelling hence my part in folding up the Kingswater/Waterside/Mottram ByPass Public Inquiries.
In regard to pollution components my constant communications with top flight Epidemiological experts in various Countries substantiate my considerable knowledge of dangerous air transmitted toxins, and my fine detail research regarding Tameside and Longendale cannot be disputed which rapidly frightened off the Seige Committee from the Public Inquiry and for years their refusal to hold an open public forum debate with me where I could demonstate facts with Data,Film and Photographs besides 400 pages of substantiated facts submitted to the Public Inquiry.
To help you how to learn facts which are hated by some in Longendale later read my assumed interview with Jonny Reynolds who never showed at the ByPass Public Inquiry just like Purnell, R,Oldham and Pendry.
Glad to be accepted as a trouble maker for TMBC because they have been directly responsible for massive environmental degradation, they have been thoroughly deceptive and deliberately misleading the public, and like yourselves create unfounded and hostile rhetoric as a means to dispute constant facts.
Ask Gwynne was my interview a very fair and realistic interview because he cannot say NO WHATSOEVER.which depicts his attitude to his Constituents backed by his trio of Councillors none of whom live in the location, they were parachuted in on the instruction of R.Oldham who always controlled the Candidates to use.

Even if we were able to halt population growth and immigration and ship out many of those already settled here, the need for a by-pass would probably be just as acute. Sorry but your argument just doesn't wash.

Don`t you get the idea after repeating yourself time after time.
Just validate your assertions but first check out what validate means.
Unfortunately you don`t understand what giving evidence is, and your style is bang on and exactly why the ByPass Public Inquiry failed "because the DoT,TMBC,and the Highways Agency made assertions which "non of them could validate",even after the Chair

ANSWER MY QUESTION HALL- how far and wide is it that people are obliged to consult with you and your fellow Denton busybodies before building new roads?

When Denton's road network was constructed, were surrounding regions advised that any future road improvements of their own would now be subject to your approval? If the people of Denton are to have such a voice in the affairs of Mottram, then what lines are to be drawn?

The M60 passes both Oldham and Stockport - are Stockport to dictate to Oldham on what roads they are allowed to build according to perceived impacts they might suffer? If whenever new roads are constructed the perceived impacts all over the show had to be considered, there'd be very few roads in existence.

If a new road was proposed for Stockport, would you be down there with your clipboard binoculars and camera ready to play hell with the Stockport authorities who are now obliged to consult with JHall's little Roadwatch project? They'd soon tell you where to get off. I'm sorry but the idea that a bypass over in Mottram must be shelved because of dubious concerns two towns away in Denton is little short of a joke.

Anonymous 20:46, 19/05/12, my immigration/land pressure and consequent overdevelopment argument relates to 'the thousands of remaining acres post' by the pro-bypass poster, not specifically the Mottram situation. Congestion in general IS however directly caused by immigrant led overpopulation.
The building of the Mottram bypass would destroy precious urban greenspace that provides easy, close and direct access for high volumes of people and significantly enhances the area. There is significant and increasing congestion in many parts of the borough and queues are apparently simply accepted by the authorities. Mottram seems to consider itself a special case and other options that will improve traffic flow without destroying swathes of urban greenspace need to be seriously considered not given token attention and then jettisoned by those with vested and/or local interests.

Considering the fact that the people of Longdendale are themselves amongst those to blame for the immigrant-driven population boom, perhaps it's only right and fair they lose their precious little green space as a result. Mottram Bypass Now said...

I have just ordered some smog masks from China that our daughter will use to walk to Mottram school in.

It is a disgrace that after thirty years this bypass hasn't been built. We are fed up of choking on lorry fumes.

Happy to throw some time and PR at this if there is support.
