Suspicious explosion in Ashton under Lyne

Police are treating an explosion which ripped apart a town centre building as suspicious. The two-storey building on Katherine Street, Ashton under Lyne, suffered extensive damage after the blast early this morning.Emergency workers discovered the front and rear walls of the building, a disused mini market, had been knocked down by the force of the blast, believed to have been caused by gas.Investigators say it could have been caused deliberately and a joint probe involving police, fire officers and Transco is taking place.No-one was injured but six people in nearby homes were forced to evacuate. A number of local roads remain closed while emergency services study the scene and clear debris.Anyone who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the Katherine Street area is urged to call Tameside detectives on 0161 856 9252 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. Roy, I am away from my computer at the moment and listened to all of the YouTube videos with yourself and James Reeve on my iPhone.

The Lib Dems are right with their drug policy to create a "free market". Your oppresing views means that it is the very people you hate will keep control through crime. No matter how much the government fights this, there will always be someone to take their place. By lifting the ban on cannabis, prices will go down and the "bad dealers" will have no business reducing them to nothing. You will get big corporates like Glaxo and Imperial Tobacco jumping at the chance with their mass market crap, leaving the good stuff to core enthusiasts (a bit like home brewers after real ale).

The government could make billions through the taxation and regulation of drugs. This should be looked into with the credit crunch and everything else.

The Labour government hates the British people, they hate our armed forces, they hate British culture and heritage.

The main problem with drugs is not the drug itself but the associated crime surrounding it.
This can be divided into two types of crime:-

1) Large volume of petty crime to feed the habit of the junkie

2) Major WEALTHY criminal groups who spread their power based on earnings from drugs.

There are two answers

1) Continue with the current policy of repression, boosted if need be by hangings, shootings etc. This probably will be as unsuccessful as it is currently.

2) Legalise all drugs. But with a subtle rider. Make the taking of drugs as socially unacceptable as is smoking, obesity and "Racism"!

Instead of junkies receiving medical treatment, treat them like those smokers who are refused treatment because they are responcible for their sickness. Make it illegal to consume drugs in buildings or the work place ON THE SAME TERMS AS SMOKING.

Similarly to be under the influence in public of drugs should be treated as drunkeness

The legalising of drugs coupled with their taxing and ease of procurement will force down the price and also remove the spurious glamour of the drugs scene.

Now, to return to the subject of the post, another suspicious fire. Is it all starting up again 4 years later?

In 2004 we had the burning down of the Market Hall, some reports mentioning a "Big Bang" , as well as the bridal shop next to Ashton Model Shop catching fire in the run up to it's demolition.

Now we have this mysterious explosion in an empty shop.

I walked past the building yesterday and I say this is the work of Muslim extremists who wish to bring down our Ashton-under-Lyne ways.
