Watch found

Not exactly Tameside – but close enough. I found this watch while walking ‘up in t’hills’ near the disused quarry at Crowden, close to the home of Tameside Advertiser columnist Sean Wood. It is a Seiko Kinetic SQ100 sports watch and is in perfect working order, but has a strap pin missing – undoubtedly the reason it was lost in the first place. It can’t have been there a great amount of time because I am told kinetic watches stop when left dormant, however, it is likely to have been there at least a month because the date is out of sync and the time has not been adjusted to winter. It looks as if this watch would retail for about £400 so it is a substantial loss for someone. If by the smallest chance you have, or know anybody who may have lost this watch feel free to contact me with an accurate description and I will mail it to you. If not I will hand it in to the police, which would probably mean a trip to Glossop police station.

Very well Cllr Perry, even though I have my doubts that this is actually you, you describe the distinguishing feature on the back of ‘your’ watch via email to me and the watch will be returned to you.
