Yes it raises a lot MORE questions. Definately a response to your last post TC. It seems as if it was staged to shift the blame and criticism away from the Guardian Media Group's Tameside Advertiser.
So is Ahmed Ali claiming that Tameside REC (Racial Equality Council) or Tameside Sports Development is responsible for the image? I think it is wrong that children have been used in a political message as complex as racism which those youngsters will probably not understand. I find his response rather rushed and it is as if the quangos and individuals (which were not included in the original article) have caught wind of this like the Advertiser did and want to stay well clear of this. Something like this would be damaging for a business or individual, but it would have less colateral on a council who will gladly take the blow at the tax payers expense once again.
Coincidental that BOTH events happened so close to each other. So if the Advertiser got a minor article like this wrong, why don't they print an official retraction themselves as to getting a "chief executive" from TMBC to make an official statement.
Did the Tameside Reporter do something on this? There maybe more... TMBC send out duplicate letters to the local rags.
What confuses me is that the stats on my blog would suggest that it was someone from the Tameside Advertiser that made the comments as to "it was not the photographers fault" etc on here as they have been closely been monitoring this topic, then clicking the link to my blog. So it was the Advertiser who took the picture, yet TMBC coordinated this farce - it is all beginning to make sense now.
Liam are you out there? What can you tell me about the libel laws? Would you say that anything that John Taylor has been saying on his website could be seen as libelous.
I am not that clued up on law, but what Taylor says on his website does raise an eyebrow from time to time. I wouldn't worry about what Taylor says on his website. Something tells me he is calling bluff.
So Taylor has taken a civil matter to the police? Isn't that wasting police time? Correct me if I am wrong, but should Taylor be contacting his solicitor directly? It costs a minimum of £20k to take a libel case to court and you need to be sure that the person you are sueing has something to their name. Sorry to sound patronising towards Liam here, but he is 18/19 and I doubt he has much to go after. I would also imagine that Taylor would not want to cough up the £20k cost which would result as a "vanity case". The worst the courts would do is tell Liam or the person Taylor intends to sue is to stop blogging.

P.S. I find your latest poll quite distasteful.
