30 year old case 'cracked' byTameside Citizen? Chief Constable informed.

Some months ago this blog published the picture we reproduce here. We stated that it was of a man who had committed a serious offence. Investigations have been carried out and the story can now be told.

On the 1st March 1985 the then Home secretary, Mr Leon Brittan, visited Manchester University Students Union to address the Conservative Students. Violence broke out involvng police and demonstrators, Following the violence complaints were made against the police. Following the complaints two students were intimidated and assaulted by men claimed to be policemen. These men were never identified at the time.

The two students were Mr Stephen David Shaw and Ms Sarah Hollis. The Citizen has contacted them both but they do not wish to get involved again in the affair.

The Citizen has investigated this affair. Mr Shaw was assaulted by a man who amongst other acts stubbed a cigarette out on his face.  Mr Shaw subsequently made a complaint which resulted in him being threatened with prosecution.

Nearly thirty years later the Tameside Citizen blog has uncovered someone who fits the description of one of the two assailants. So sure are we that we have sent details to the Chief Constable of the GMP , Sir Peter Fahy, requesting action. The guilt or innocence of the man concerned we leave to the courts, what we do say is that the description given by Mr Shaw fits the man concerned perfectly.

But what is more disturbing is that if a mere writer, an amateur sleuth. can put a name to the alleged assailant, why couldn't the GMP?? Are we in the realms of collusion here?

You are on very thin ice regarding this article TC. Rule No1 is never make enemies of the police.

Read this article from Russia Today follow the link beam in it's eye.

Rather than the exception, corruption is now the norm within the key institutions at the heart of the British establishment.

A crime is a crime and I am sure that the vast majority of Police officers on the beat abhor the activities of those who abuse their power as much as you or I do.

But the Police wield much power, and with that power comes responsibility. We are talking about the 1980's remember. Things were different then.

A very remarkable thing happened yesterday.
Roy West walked into Ashton police station at 1pm to answer police bail.
He was finally released at 5.30pm.
Remember, that Roy West has spent more time in a police cell than the average career criminal, Muggers, shoplifters, even rapists.
Roy West was interviewed, but remarkably the main piece evidence against him was not shown during the police interview.
The video in question is so shocking that the average police officer could not fail to see the potential for violence.
I believe that the police did not show the video during the interview, because it would have shown that the real victim in this is Roy West.
It is beyond belief that Roy West is sat in a police cell for five hours yet the potential for violence against him is completely ignored.

I came across the following quote on the "Northern Voices" website. It's by an American but....well, it seems relevant to the comment above at 10:34,
Erik Nelson, an assistant professor of liberal arts at the University of Richmond, has said: 'What's getting really unnerving, is the amount of time it appears both police and prosecutors are spending over rap lyrics and videos on social media rather than using that time to go and rather more convincing, more conventional evidence.'

VIDEOS ON SOCIAL MEDIA mmmmmm

I feel sorry for Roy West he needs to get a good solicitor and make a counter action

My first advice to Roy West is to take legal action and sue the individual in that video making those unfounded allegations. You can't get away with saying things like that.

Suing for Slander said...

A form of defamation, slander is basically the act of spreading false information about an individual or entity, which results in damage to the reputation of the said individual or entity, and may result in financial loss at times. Though slander is more often associated with verbal accusations, sometimes body gestures or spread of information on the Internet also amounts to the same.

Very interesting comment from someone who almost certainly works for the police.

However, you are 100% correct in saying that making an enemy of the police is a very foolish thing to do. Will someone please tell this to Roy West!

@18:53 I think he already knows.

The situation as I see it is that a certain un-named unidentified person fits a description. We are therefore in the area of "Crimewatch Uk" where the public is asked to identify alleged villains from cctv footage or film etc.

The BBC regularly "exposed" fraudsters on "The Cook Report". All that TC has done is point out that the description given at the time matches a certain individual. The blog passed on the information to the relevant authorities. No wild accusations, just doing the citizen's duty of helping to fight crime.

If someone stubs a cigarette out on someone's face they need locking up. Anyone who ISN'T the enemy of an individual (their job is irrelevant) who does something like that is as bad as they are.
Let's hope the alleged perpetrator is identified, prosecuted and properly punished.

This blog has become the leading opposition to the anti democratic mafia that runs Tameside borough.
This blog stands for JUSTICE and stands against INJUSTICE.

Anonymous said...

@17:30 I agree because unfounded allegations like that are designed to bring harm.
Roy West's accusers are using the backing of the police to spread unfounded allegations.
And the evidence to show this is completely there.
The police have visited Roy West's house, and refused to take witness statements from people that have been witness to this harassment against Roy West.
Yet, when Roy West is alleged to have said something the police are falling over themselves to get witness statements.

The potential for this blog is unprecedented, due to the thousands of inbound links THAT HAVE BEEN created to the Citizen.

If the Citizen stands for JUSTICE and against INJUSTICE then stand tall and don't be afraid shout out the facts and findings of true life stories. There will be lots of persecutions to come.

Really pi---- off with the onslaught
of postings about RW.
I had sympathies with RW 18 months
ago but now its obvious the rabble rousers have massive blinkers on because almost a quarter of a million Tameside people are disadvantaged living under a despotic band of crap heads and many others have suffered but no-one gives a toss other than the RW complainers.
TC has gone down the pan and does not reflect Tameside peoples trials and tribulations,so stick the mentally obsessed posters who are no improvements on the tat that vote Labour.
TC is moving in a wilderness of
single subject dross regardless of the fury from TC if you are critical of what the blog has become,
After a long time I`m off to a realistic, rational, and objective blog site where its not fanatical.

@14:34 Says Mr Hall.

Anonymous said...

Mr Hall I thought you knew all about injustice and persecution? It seems you don't after whats that's been said.

Anonymous said...

Mr Hall I had sympathies with RW 18 months ago. So the fact that he and his family are being persecuted by the police/new charter/labour Councillors means nothing to you.
Despite facing such persecution, Roy West has posted 1,000 leaflets in last three days. What have you done? all talk and no action.

Anonymous said...

@ Anonymous 14:34, Good riddance. There IS too much Roy West on here, there's also too much of your dreary whinging.
Anything from OUTSIDE Tameside, no matter how serious its future ramifications for the borough and the nation at large is apparently of no great importance, but then you're only interested in bent local councillors and air pollution.
Why not comment on the serious potential implications of this specific posting instead of serial moaning.

Alf Garnett said...

They need to put Roy West in a nut house coz the lads got no brains ? Sort your troubles out like a man like you shuold of done in the first place or shut up ? and what the man has said about pushing the police is very good advise and you need to heed it . But pls stop going on and on about it

Anonymous said...

That's right Alf, we should all support letting off people who allegedly stub their fags out in people's faces because the perpetrator might be in the police.
If a copper beat your son up no doubt you'd say and do nothing in case you 'pushed' the police.

tonydj said...

There is a lot of injustice in Tameside as anyone who bothers to read the local publications AND THINK will realise. We are officially a "Deprived area". Most people in authority in Tameside are used to being obeyed due to the lack of education of the mass of Tameside people.

When I was tending my terminally ill mother it was noticeable how the "carers" (Ha! spit!)changed their attitude from condescending to respectful when they saw my graduation picture on the wall. Remember, the local police only took the complaints against Harold Shipman seriously when the victim was a local ex-Mayoress and the complainant a lawyer.

Alf Garnett said...

i didnt say anything about putin fags out on people ? i said that west needs to man up

The Odessa File said...

Alf serious question do you not think there's a conspiracy of collusion against Roy West?
Look at all the evidence and clues.
Mr Hall is very much like you, in that you talk a good political fight but what have you both done except moan about bent politicians?
I know you've been a BNP candidate ALF and that does take some guts.
But you should support people that stick their neck out against the corrupt in government.
I doubt that Mr Hall has ever done anything like political street activism yet he wants action.

One of the main reasons why this blog is becoming an in-available news source.
Remember how the Judge describe the new charter injunction against Roy West "significant breach of the freedom of speech" that quote was never reported in the local media.
That was quite an extraordinary thing to say for a judge, yet the local media did not report it.

Anonymous said...

ALF What do you mean he needs to man up. I think what he's been through would show you that he's a man of courage?

Anonymous said...

Mr Hall political persecution for Roy West and his family has become a way of life.
The police harass his disabled partner and storm their house and put fear in a young child.
The police are being directed from the very top.
Mr Hall Roy West is anti blood sports just one reason for the five years of police persecution.
Of course that's not the whole story but one day the truth will defeat Roy West's persecutors.

Alf Garnett said...

A man would,nt sit there and take it that's what I mean ? Head fist and boot that's how men sort things out ? Roy go's on and on like a little girl and also brings it on his self

Anonymous said...

Any policeman doing something like that is a disgrace to the job and humanity in general. They're also a liability, to their own side AND the opposition.
Once a sadist bully boy always a sadist bully boy.

I'll bear that in mind when I next see you Alf, on Corn Hill Lane.

ALF do you not think it rather convenient that his accusers cannot produce one single piece of CCTV footage to back up their allegations of daily harassment?
