Parking charges, A picture is worth a thousand words.

Tameside, 2 hours parking, £1.80. Cheadle, 2 hours parking, 0.40p.

Check the two pictures carefully. No comment is necessary, they tell the full story.

Thanks for highlighting this unacceptable difference in parking fees. Ridiculously expensive parking is killing in trade in Hyde.

You forgot that Cheadle's wealthier than Tameside, which makes it even worse.

I don't believe for one minute we even have a new administrator.

I think the original tc decided it was time for a much needed change - fewer articles and a slight change of tone.

Someone starts a blog up about local issues and after several committed years suddenly finds a 'replacement' of sorts??? I think otherwise. Not that I blame him, mind.

blah blah blah
the biggest load of bullshit I have read for a long time on TC.
The previous TC Editor had more bottle than 98% of the posters on TC
and I suspect the Another Cheshire Man is connected to TMBC or one of its corrupt organisations.
The gross shortage of bottle on the new TC site is now fodder for the Tameside Council and your letting it happen.(traitors to the cause))

It's also worth noting that cripples can park for free for three hours in Stockport but they are charged in Tameside.

I assumed that "cripples" was an unfortunate slip of the typing finger and was not a deliberate insult at any individual. It will not be allowed through again.

Come on TC you're not a pc enforcer are you? Cripple is a fine old European word and we should be able to use it without fear of being banned. The word was recorded as early as 950 AD, and derives from the Proto-Germanic krupilaz.

Haven't been to Ashton for six months. Why pay to park to watch chavs, aliens and neanderthals going into pound shops and McDonald's.
I don't need a reminder of the British species' decline or our nation's ongoing 'enrichment'.

Cripple is just another word for invalid I thought. Makes a good point though, the disabled often rely on motor transport and therefore in Tameside they get disproportionately and unfairly hit by parking charges.
Disabled or not it is damaging to local business and those businesses should be campaigning against the council.

Let's not forget that the councillors who enforce parking charges on the rest of us are themselves exempt as they each have a free parking permit proudly displayed on their windscreen.

Less than a couple of quid for two hours parking? My God, hardly classes as daylight robbery.

If you can afford to run a car you can also afford less than the price of a pint to park during a shopping trip.

Too many grippy skinflints and misers in this day & age, esp. Tameside.

Parking for profit seems to be the TMBC logic but it is a flawed concept because people such as I just take my business elsewhere. This is what happens when brain dead councillors are given free reign to impose rules over matters of which they have no real understanding.

Did a senior new charter enforcer once have a gun under his coat?

@15:46 The Citizen is a growing concern.
I agree that the new administrator cannot keep the daily pace, which was shown by the old administrator.
It is frustrating that, with so much news to report on, we are waiting 5 0r 6 days for the blog to be updated.
I think the viewing figures will go down if it continues this way.

Invalid is the right word and all invalids not long ago could get a invalid car and they could park there invalid car in the invalid bays for free and rightly so become they can't walk and then they change the wording and that ment some one with a sore foot could use the bays and just like with all thing it got f.cord up ? Invalid memes stuck in a chair for life

Builders wreck Tameside's 16th century mansion. I always thought the average bricky was a bit dim.

@10/03/2014 16:51 i dont agree the viewing figures will go up if anything,

You should do an article on the missing CCTV evidence, that will show that Roy West in innocent of these harassment allegations.

I her that Mr West has made a complaint to the Chief Superintendent on a point of JUSTICE.
That missing CCTV evidence will show that these allegations do not hold up to CCTV scrutiny.

A true traitor in every sense of the word. A traitor to the workers, a traitor to the founding principles of the union movement and a traitor to his country. Truly one of the worst of the worst. Today the fires if hell will be burning especially brightly.

What I am extremely concerned about is the obvious reluctance by the TC moderator to post items which specifically name Councillors,Officials and MP`s.
I sent damming substantiated evidence naming Councillors and an MP and heard nothing from TC.
If this blog site is limiting or blocking anything that fingers those Tameside cretins with genuine true and substantiated information then in principal the blog site is shackled and has little use in a area where we have been taken to the cleaners by numerous sleazy cartels.
When did you last see a Councillor named,an MP named,a Tameside Official named recently.
Sat in their corrupt ivory towers they must be celebrating a diluted blog site which they hated and helped in keeping individuals in focus.
Never be afraid when you have the truth which you can substantiate, needs to be a TC feature which was previously unlocking and naming the scandals previously who get their wealthy incomes from our pockets..
