Shooting Squirrels In Hulmes Wood

I was walking through Hulmes Wood this afternoon, the shortest day of the year, just before dark and I spotted a pair of young men holding a squirrel and taking photos of it with a mobile phone. I was curious as to how they managed to catch it as squirrels usually keep a safe distance from humans. It was only as I walked right up close I spotted an air rifle and then realised the squirrel was dead. I asked them if they had shot it to which they replied yes, I then shook my head and carried on. I was tempted to take a picture of them but there was no way of doing it without getting into a fight.

The pictures they took will probably be uploaded to Facebook, Instagram or Twitter by now. If you come across them post them here so we can all take a look at these 'heroic' Great White Hunters.

Shooting is rightly and strictly forbidden in the woods and I will be reporting this matter to the police. The two responsible where white males in their late teens or early twenties.

Unfortunately TC this is typical behaviour of the kind of brain dead morons inhabiting this country now. Personally I would have shoved the air rifle where the sun doesn't shine.

I admire their herculean effort in conquering a tiny rodent with their bare hands (holding an air rifle many yards away) I suppose they will mount the head over their fireplace and regale their dinner party guests with tales of their great triumph over adversity.
I imagine the sight of the ferocious beast will haunt their dreams for decades to come, but when they wake they will always be assured that it no longer lives to endanger those who dare stray into hulmes wood...

DPSF, That's a nice video - thanks for sharing.

Yes Bill, I agree. God only knows what future awaits if those morons were representative of the youth of today.

Good satire as ever from SS.

Not related to this post but as a fellow atheist I thought this article was spot on about the annual retail festival.

Animal rights and welfare issues - I went along to Cavendish new charter housing in Ashton.
I went there to talk about housing matters yet I was faced with questions about animal welfare.
I was directly asked about my views on blood sports and did I know anyone opposed to hunting with dogs.
And could I supply any names of people opposed to blood sports.

Did you know that blackmail is a serious crime?

Notice how they refer to him as "Miller"in the article and not Mr Miller, like he's been convicted of some offence!

Quote:
As well as the police visit, Miller also told Eastleigh News a woman had knocked on his door and called him an “evil, nasty, obnoxious ****”.

So why aren't the police arresting this woman? She intentionally knocked on his door to cause him distress with abusive and insulting words, and should be charged with harassment.

New Charter Housing have allowed themselves to get embroiled in animal rights issues.
Really, not a social housing issue.
The Labour government banned hunting with dogs.
Some people have found a way around the ban.

The airgun incident has been reported and patrols will be on the lookout for any similar incidents in the future.

Thanks for the link to the article Bill. The over commercialisation of Christmas is something which could concern us all. Many people feel under intense pressure to get into debt to buy presents for others at this time of year and all that leads to is short term happiness for the recipient and long term unhappiness for the person in debt. It is also sad that the beautiful message of the true meaning of Christmas gets lost in the frenzy created by the over commercialisation.

They're serving squirrel in some restaurants these days. Not much on them but I believe they're good eating. Doesn't Nick Griffin eat road kill? It was only recently that he was urging his fellow fascists to feed their kids road kill so they could save money on food and donate it to his odious BNP party.

However incompetently and badly run parts of the BNP's organisation may have been there was and is nothing 'odious' about wanting to preserve your nation's heritage, culture and identity, which was the essence of the party.
