Manchester United show off the latest silverware in Albert Square

I was once a dedicated United fan, a season ticket holder for many years, but I slowly became disillusioned as MUFC was transforming from a football club with business interests into a business with footballing interests. I witnessed the transformation first hand as many traditional working class fans were priced out only to be replaced by the Prawn Sandwich Brigade.

The first game I attended was United v Blackpool in 1975 when we were promoted back to the top flight after a spell in league division two. The last game I attended at Old Trafford was last season when I was given free tickets and I went more as a 'day-tripper' than a regular fan.

Between my first and last game there were many highs and lows. The ultimate game I attended had to be the FA Cup semi final replay against Arsenal at Villa Park the year we won the treble. Weeks later was that magical and never to be forgotten night at the Nou Camp when we won the European Cup and completed the never before achieved treble.

Fergie/Tinkerbell, or Sir Alex as he is now known was the man who led us through those glory years and happy times so I felt I had to go to Albert Square tonight to see him for one last time while still in his position as the boss.

The turnout from the fans was tremendous but the authorities ruined proceedings for many when at 7pm they set about sealing off Albert Square with a Mancunian version of the Berlin Wall which prevented thousands of people from seeing the grande finale. I saw many a mum and dad with weeping child in tow as they were turned away. Eventually common sense prevailed and fans held behind the hideous 10ft high barriers began filtering through to join the party. If you watch the video, just look at the joy on the faces of those who have just escaped the 'Mancunian Berlin Wall' starting about two minutes in.

On another footballing note I see the old Berties have just sacked Roberto Mancini, the only manager to bring them success in decades. They really never learn do they?

Not being one for crowds, I avoided the event. Nonetheless I would have liked to have seen the team and the silverware.
Sir Alex has performed miracles and I hope Moyes can bring some success also. Truth be told I was sprinting around an empty football field while the whole thing was happening, best to keep fit.

Nonetheless I'm not an obsessive fan, I've never been able to afford to go to a game for a start.

I have been to FC united games and they play their hearts out for little money, no silly sponsors on their kits either. Granted they have a lot of lefties hanging about but if enough people get behind them, they will be a minority and politics won't even come into it.

Here's a question. Why do most City fans cone from Stockport?

Football's an absolute snorefest anyway. What sort of sport has the players walking off the field after 90 minutes of play with neither team having scored a single point (ie - goal) against the other? It's an insult to your intelligence. The reason football was traditionally working class is because most couldn't afford anything better, other than beer darts and pigeons. Only lemmings like serpent slayer still give it any credit.

Put the BBC news on and watch the feature on grammar improvements for primary school children. The story itself isn't too interesting but the demographic of the pupils at several of the schools featured is. It is BBC propaganda and very transparent when you understand their modus operandi.

I see they 'forgot' the trivial matter of putting our flag up on St George's day at Hyde Town Hall and had to be reminded by a local resident.
Some might think it wasn't accidental amnesia but done (or should that be not done) for other reasons. Judging by the number of dirty looks I got whilst driving through the nearby backstreets with my flags flying that day it's obvious some people in that vicinity have got a problem with it.

Another day, another Pakistani child grooming gang in the dock said...

Yes, stick to football and ignore the rape of our children by immigrant invaders. This latest gang convicted today are added to the long list of Pakistani men convicted of raping White British children. There are numerous other such cases pending up and down the country. I will say it now and I will keep on saying it: the reason the controlled media is constantly reporting on alleged celebrity molesters such as Ken Barlow, DLT, Freddie Starr, Max Clifford etc is to confuse the sheep (public) into thinking child rape is widespread across all communities when in reality it is massively more prevalent amongst certain immigrant communities.

For all Nick Griffin's faults, he must be praised for breaking down the establishment wall of silence and wilful ignorance surrounding the issue of immigrant men systematically forming organised rape gangs to abuse indigenous children. Without Griffin becoming elected as an MEP and raising this scandal at the highest level, the traitors who put ‘community relations’ before our children’s welfare would still be ignoring the rape epidemic for fear of being branded racist.

Western (Zionist) backed "Freedom Fighter" cuts out and eats the beating heart of a government soldier said...

Do not click the link from the Washington Post website if easily shocked. The Jihadi terrorists featured in the video who are trying to overthrow the legitimate government of Syria are being armed and financed by Western governments for the benefit of the Zionist terror regime in the Middle East. While human rights abuses are frequently occurring in Western vassal states in the Middle East which always go unchallenged, the West actively supports Jihadi insurgents trying to bring down the Assad government. Hague should tried in the Hague for aiding and abetting war crimes.

A man sustained a bleed to his brain and serious injuries after a vicious attack outside a takeaway in Rusholme.

It happened outside the Kansas Fried Chicken takeaway on Wilmslow Road at about 6am on 2 March 2013.

The victim, 28, was attacked by numerous men who punched and kicked him to the ground. As he lay defenceless, a weapon was used to slash the man’s buttocks and he also sustained serious head injuries during the assault.

Three men were later arrested in connection with the incident and bailed pending further inquiries.

The man’s attackers were described as black, possibly of Somalian origin.

Immigrants? We sent out search parties to get them to come...says Mandelsohn said...

Labour sent out ‘search parties’ for immigrants to get them to come to the UK, Lord Mandelson has admitted.

In a stunning confirmation that the Blair and Brown governments deliberately engineered mass immigration, the former Cabinet Minister and spin doctor said New Labour sought out foreign workers.

He also conceded that the influx of arrivals meant the party’s traditional supporters are now unable to find work.

Lord Mandelson’s remarks come three years after Labour officials denied claims by former adviser Andrew Neather that they deliberately encouraged immigration in order to change the make-up of Britain.

Mr Neather said the policy was designed to ‘rub the Right’s nose in diversity’.

He said there was ‘a driving political purpose: that mass immigration was the way that the Government was going to make the UK truly multicultural’.

Senior Labour figures have been reluctant to concede they deliberately engineered the influx of migrants who have transformed communities over the past decade.

But, at a rally for the Blairite think-tank Progress, Lord Mandelson said: ‘In 2004 when as a Labour government, we were not only welcoming people to come into this country to work, we were sending out search parties for people and encouraging them, in some cases, to take up work in this country.’

Sir Andrew Green of Migration Watch said: ‘This is an astonishing admission from the highest level that Labour’s mass immigration policy was entirely deliberate.

‘It will be a very long time before their own working class supporters forgive them for the enormous changes that have been imposed on their communities.’

(Andrew Green gives the Labour WC voters more credit than they deserve)

plenty of local traitors need putting on trial for aiding and abetting treason against our country too said...

This is nothing short of admitting treason. Blair, Brown, Mandelson, Straw, Miliband, Balls, Harman and the rest of that treacherous bunch should be put on trial and if convicted of treason they should be publicly executed. No excuses, if convicted that is the sentence they must receive.

Hail Crom! said...

I would not bother with a trial, we should just sacrifice them to the gods in a big public ceremony.

Past histories give many colourful ways we could go about it. Why stick to the confines of silly bits of paper drafted by softies when we can bring the whole of civilisation down in the most brutal way possible?

It would ensure the eternal strength of mankind, there would be nothing to induce us to stagnation and weakness in a world where we have to chase and kill wild animals just to survive.

"A business with footballing interests".

Good one.

I'm sandwiched between two households in thrall to this particular business. They may as well support Tesco, or Asda.

News Flash! new charter housing!
Important information to come.
Judge tells new charter solicitor he would be sent to the police cells, along with his manger and chief executive if they ever put this woman through this again.

One real-life example of evil New Charter - a poorly mother-of-two from Denton was forced to defend herself in court the face of false accusations by New Charter of unpaid rent. After proving her innocence by providing the relevant bank statements, the judge told New Charter's representatives that if they ever tried it again on her, they, their manager and the Chief Executive would be brought before him and would spend a night in the cells!

TC I know that the above statement is true, because the woman in question is my partners sister-in- law.
I need to know if it was Wilson.

Council vetoes flag of St George: possibly offensive to Muslims said...

A local council decided against flying the flag of St George after concerns were raised that it would offend the town’s 16 Muslim residents.

Eleanor Jackson, a university lecturer, said the red and white symbol could cause upset in Radstock, Somerset, because it was used during the Crusades 1,000 years ago.

The Labour councillor voiced her concerns at a meeting called to discuss which flag should be purchased to fly atop the town's repaired civic flagpole.
