Stalybridge and Hyde MP slams Army threat to court martial Fusiliers who protest at Parliament

An MP has slammed an Army threat to court martial soldiers who march on Parliament this week as part of the campaign to save a historic battalion. More than 400 current and former squaddies will descend on Westminster on Thursday to oppose plans to axe the 2nd Battalion, the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers. The M.E.N, which has led the campaign against the move, will hand in a 15,000-strong petition calling for a rethink.

Army top brass have indicated they could discipline or even court martial serving soldiers who join the protest while wearing uniform. It comes just weeks after uniformed soldiers were ordered to leave a ‘save our Fusiliers’ protest in Bury in the face of a similar threat. Jonathan Reynolds, Labour MP for Stalybridge and Hyde MP, said Read full article by clicking here.

Well said Johnny Reynolds MP. These historic units should not be closed down for short term financial reasons. Tameside Citizen

The modern Army top brass are like the modern Police top brass, self obsessed shithouses who got where they are by going with the politically correct flow and bending the knee to the powers that be.
The public or the troops/coppers at the frontline are irrelevant to these career jockeys whose only priority is looking after number one.

This battalion can trace it's ancestry back to Lillingstones regiment formed in 1674 for the Dutch Service, it arrived in England in 1688 with william of Orange.

Formed in 1674. When America declared it's Independance in 1776 it was already over 100 years old.

All the people I know who have gone to join the army is the thickos at school. They join as they see it as an alternative to living on benefits as they aren't likely to get into college or a well paid job elsewhere.

I have so far remained within the Rump Party, because I am aware that I was elected because I headed a party list and not because of any personal qualities recognised by the electorate.

However, it is also clear that 80 or 90% of the Party’s membership, activists and former officials have left it and disappeared in several different directions. The current rump Chairman bears the heavy responsibility for having destroyed the Party of which he is still nominally head.

A gang of Asians attack a lone White man and kick him to death = not racist incident said...

These are the two thugs who kicked and stamped an innocent man to death as the victim’s partner watched.

A jury yesterday took two hours and 50 minutes to find fresh-faced Asif Rehman, 20, and Adel Ishaq, 19, guilty of murdering Irish-born labourer William McKeeney, 57.

A charge that the attack was racially motivated was dropped.

William was coming home with a fish supper after a night out when Rehman, known as “Noddy”, and Ishaq, nicknamed “Fetchy”, attacked him outside his home in Pollokshields, Glasgow, on January 15.

Labour is facing accusations of hypocrisy over its outspoken stance on the Jimmy Savile scandal. This is the kind of thing that should go in all anti Labour election literature.

I see England is having its usual collective national heart attack after a few of its professional sportsmen received a bit of verbal abuse in a game of football.

Apparently if you react to verbal provocation and get punished by the Ref it's your fault for being unprofessional. If there's race involved however and someone calls you a White/Black bastard it's aparently NOT your fault for reacting.

The football establishment has lots its collective reason over the race issue, as has the establishment in general, and not one man jack of them or the media has got the guts to go against the politically correct flow and say it's time to call a halt to this infantile hysteria.
