Tameside consults on major library cutbacks

More than the half the libraries in Tameside, Greater Manchester, could be lost as the borough council looks to review its services.

Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council has put out a consultation to their residents asking for their views on library restructuring, with options including cutting the number of libraries from 13 to just two flagship libraries, alongside a £250,000 investment in new technologies.

The council’s preferred option is to focus services on six town centre libraries, as well as creating one new library and relocating another. However, the opening hours at all the facilities would be slashed as the council looked to make savings.

Tameside's current annual library spend is £3.14million, with 74% of this spent on staffing, and 10% spent on materials such as books.

The council has also floated the idea of community groups being able to run their own library services, as long as they came at no cost to the council. Executive member for learning and achievement, Councillor Ged Clooney said: “I hope by now residents understand that the 30% cuts to our budgets that we have already sustained mean that we have to look at how we provide all our services to ensure they remain, modern, affordable and fit for the future.”

He added: “It is important to remember that libraries are about services not buildings,” before saying: “We want a solution that will be financially sustainable and that will allow us to invest in new technology such as electronic books which are becoming more and more popular and enable us to improve the service such as removing charges for reservations.”

More than half of the borough’s population, over 100,000 people, are registered as library users.

The consultation on its future will run until August 20th. The Bookseller

Interesting reading. You will find the Council 'consultation' here http://www.tameside.gov.uk/tbc/libraries

The figures show the library service costs £95 per year per active user (those who have visited in the last 12 months).

Hey what has the above got to do with library closures?

This is very important information if true. The five pointed star or pentagram, is a Masonic symbol of devil worship. Are you certain he wears the ring of Lucifer or are you mistaking it for the Jewish star which is harmless in comparrison.

If there is a Luciferian cell operating in Tameside and you are on the wrong side of them. you must fear for your life. These people worship the devil and make human sacrifices and are extremely dangerous.

Do not treat it as a joke if he is a Luciferian.

It's important for people to understand, that Paul Wilson reads every comment posted on this blog, and prints them off the page.
He recently put them before a judge at Tameside and made a complete dick of himself.

If Paul Wilson is that bearded guy with the pony tail then I really wouldn't worry too much about him being part of some shadowy local freemasonesque luciferian NWO clique. He's just another sad 40 something who hasn't left his unoriginal and yawnsome teenage fads behind in university where they belong.

Let's hope they shut every library. It might wake up some of the massive contingent of Tameside morons. The ones who vote mainstream party NO MATTER WHAT.

If they cut all council employees' wages to the CURRENT MARKET RATE, there would not need to be any cuts to services. But as we know they are entitled to better pay, conditions and pensions than comparable jobs in the private sector. Why? BECAUSE THEY ARE.

Daily Mail said...

If you think council workers take the michael then try the NHS for good measure....

"Overall, just over 4 per cent of all NHS employees are absent at any one time but in some trusts it is nearly 7 per cent. This compares with 1.6 per cent for private sector workers and 2.6 per cent for those employed elsewhere in the public sector. One reason NHS staff may be more inclined to take time off is that their sickness benefit scheme is so generous. Employees who are absent for long periods will still be paid any bonuses and overtime they are likely to have received over that time – on top of their normal wage. And they can even go on holiday while they are supposedly off sick if they can prove it is for ‘recuperation’ purposes."

Nice 'work' if you can get it.

If the clique who are running Tameside are Luciferian then we are indeed in danger. It takes a special kind of crazy to worship a spectre created by the Catholic church to scare people. Having somebody as spiritually immature in charge of so much as a wheelie bin would be dangerous for the people around them.

I have heard of similar things, the bohemian grove "cremation of care" ceremony that was infiltrated by Alex Jones and the journalist Jon Ronson for example.

I do not think it is the 'devil' behind these things, merely that the devil reflects something within those who utilise his image. They are after all doing the work of another god, perhaps even god(s), similar to the Annunaki of Sumerian myth.

90% of all new charter housing tenants claim housing benefits. New charter are on a win, win, win, situation. It's money in the bank.
They must be making millions ££££££ every year out of the government. Is there anyway to find out the housing benefit takings for Munro and his growing empire.? £££££££££££££££££££££Munro

Anonymous said...

And all that housing benefit is going into the pockets of Munro, and Labour Councillors like Ged Cooney, those at the very top of the new charter empire. New charter would be nothing without all that housing benefit coming in.
It really is a money making scam they've got going on here.

Unfortunately, Rosalind Gauci has decided that it is the right time for her to hand over the Tameside Organiser’s role to someone else.

However, she is a dedicated Nationalist and will continue to support any local activities in the party’s interests. We are grateful for all of Rosalind’s efforts, through a difficult time and shortage of support in the Tameside area.

Kay Pollitt has very kindly agreed to take over as Tameside Organiser, with the help and assistance of Gary Tumulty, Eddy O’Sullivan and other local members.

Andrew Brons analyses the current situation

If we had sought to create the most unenviable plight for British Nationalism to be in, we could not have contrived a worse one.

The British National Party has lost 80% of its members, of its leadership and of its activists but it has been saved from extinction by a legacy of £500,000. It is not large enough to thrive or expand; it is not insubstantial enough to disappear. In the words of the Chairman’s ventriloquist, writing under the nom de guerre of a late and decent Nationalist, Derek Day, “The BNP does not have to be large or even viable to prevent any rival Nationalist party from taking its place”.

Gauci stood about three times in Newton. Nigel Byrne was the first to stand and always received several hundred votes. When Gauci stood in the 2009 Newton by-election that run of success peaked at nearly 900 votes. Since then it has nose-dived with a mere 200 or so in this year's election. Just like the pattern we see nationwide, the populace are incapable of staying focussed on the bigger issues for very long. The old antiquated toryVlabour theme suddenly (surprise surprise)became top of the agenda again, and the looming abyss that is the next several decades was easily forgotten about.

Those who blame Griffin and co miss the point. The average BNP voter was not actually aware of much that was that taking place within the party, the internal feuding etc. The atrocious results are simply reflective of the here today gone tomorrow supporter who (politically) is incapable of seeing beyond the end of their nose. Anyone analysing the current situation can draw but one conclusion - things really are going to have to change before the white masses wake up, by which time democratic politics won't represent any solution. Bring on 2050AD....

I wasn't saying more pro-active and better informed nationalists don't hate Griffin, or that they shouldn't do. I just don't believe that the average man on the street BNP voter 9which formed the bulk of their support) turned away because of Griffin.

Griffin was pitted against a hostile audience, several hostile panellists and one biased judge. No politician in history has ever been subjected to that on tv. Most reasonable people would take that into account before passing judgement, which might explain why at the time there was in fact a boost in public support after the show.

Griffin has destroyed the bnp, he's forced out 80% of it's members. Good people gone at his hand. Anyone that disagree's with him forced out. The bnp will never get anyone else elected under his leadership.

Tameside bnp is now in the hands of Salford bnp. Lets see what they can do, to gain any kind of support for Griffin/Harrington state agents. Griffin is holding on to the bnp name to gain more money from mugs that send it to him.
But people are not fooled anymore, the bnp has had it's day in Tameside. And Salford bnp will soon find that one out for themselves no doubt......Pink is in.

Nigel Byrne has done a great deal of work for Nationalism and as far as I am aware, he is having a well deserved rest.

To say "his heart was not in it" severely underestimates the devotion that Nationalist activists are capable of.

How many Tameside Labour troglodytes would be in office if they had to seriously work for their positions?

How many of them are true socialists, who would defend the working class until their dying breaths?

Standing up to a corrupt system takes it's toll on anybody who has the courage to do so. Eventually though, enough people will become wise and the revolutionary act will become the popular one, the "I am Spartacus" moment where there are too many rebels for anyone to be singled out.

Has Greg finally gone stark raving bonkers or is he trying to wind people up by telling porkies? This pseudo-intellectual is a johnny-come-lately to Nationalism. He is also something of a crank who regularly posts disturbing comments on this blog regarding his apparent bloodlust. Many of his comments are blatantly illegal.

Now my very dear friend is a police officer and has asked me on more than one occasion, "who keeps writing about 'wading knee-deep in blood, and civil war, and oceans of blood etc etc on that blog' ".

So far I haven't told him.
