Latest leaflet from Denton South Independent Carl Simmons

Well done to Carl Simmons for his tireless campaign to bring accountability to local politics and for alerting the public of Haughton Green about the planned stealth closure of their local library.

In the local elections this year Carl Simmons come a very good second behind Labour with 675 votes. His vote was better than the combined votes of the Conservative Party, UKIP and the Greens in the Denton South ward. In fact Carl Simmons's 675 votes was higher than what the Conservatives polled in many wards and considerably higher than the highest vote scored by any candidate representing any of the smaller parties such as UKIP, BNP, English Democrats or Greens.

Well done Mr Simmons and keep up the good work.

Yet he did not stand in the last elections why?

Well, well, well, turn up for the books. The printer fron N, Ireland accused the BNP of not paying their bills, has been found guilty himself.
Searchlight/uaf/Dukinfield Labour, made a big deal out of this.
Never believe everything you read in the papers.

Or maybe we could get tonydj's take on David Sloan, the printer from Northern Ireland?

What kind of political party is it where the leader goes to the police and says his close colleague is trying to murder him?

What kind of political party is it where a dispute with a printer leads to a criminal trial?

What does all this look like to the world at large? You have to conclude it's what Griffin wants do you not? Real parties bend over backwards to avoid stuff like this in public.

What kind of person in that light still thinks the BNP a viable party to get public support? Regardless of any right and wrongs about the above.

The normal person will just say 'they look like a bunch of gangsters'.

Anyone honestly disagree?

Well said TC. Mr Simmons is well on way to polling higher than Nigel Byrne's 846 votes (29%) in 2008.

Well done carl Simmons. What a pity there are so few like him in Tameside, and I include: the Green 'cranks'; the BNP 'racists'; the UKIP 'Europhobes'; The English Democrat 'Little Englanders'; and even the flawed but committed Mr West.
These are people prepared to stand against the tide of political correcness, manifested by the identikit Lib/Lab/Con main party clique, that is drowning our nation with its anti-British, anti-British values agenda.
Regarding Mr Simmons, by focussing on an important, high profile and significant local issue he got over 1 in 4 of the turnout to vote for him. Unfortunately less than 2700 out of a Denton South electorate of approximately 8400 could be botherd to vote, even when it came to the opportunity to save their local library.
I sincerely hope Mr Simmons' principled stand inspires others.
The ludicrous amounts spent on three amateur councillors (an average Tameside councillor represents approximately 3700 people compared to an MPs 90,000) over the last few years might have been better directed on Denton South's local facilities.
Two of them claimed a total of£36,000 in allowances for 2010/11 alone, the other councillors figures have been omitted from the list for some reason.

I often see Carl around HG and he has the respect of eaveryone in the area. He is a good bloke and it is only a matter of time until he gets elected.

The non-main party record in Tameside was, I believe, set in the Droylsden East ward in 2008. David Lomas of the BNP got 1000 votes, 32.72%.

The massive increases in cretins, the 'community' vote and the 70% of apathetic tossers who can't be bothered, has ensured the council chamber is dominated by a ragbag of Labour lefties, thugs, chavs and self-seekers.

Those American cops in Dearborn USA taking the easy way out and rewarding Muslims for stoning Christians, by threatening to arrest the Christians sums up the modern BRITISH policing approach. Total gutlessness, appeasement and peace at any price.
If you join the police now this is what you're signing on the dotted line for. Be aware, in the future there may be consequences.

Totally agree with Carl Simmons.
Vote for Independent Candidates at every opportunity.
I made A Conscious Decision to stand Independent this year, because of a great sea change in my political thinking.
Put the work-in for yourself and not self-interest leaders.
But please take note of comments made by tonydj on this matter.
You are more at risk of being persecuted by those you challenge.

In another lifetime I would have loved to have been a policeman, now I find my self in revulsion at the very thought of the police force.

Ban secret society members (incl. Common Purpose) for thepolice, actively enforce it, combine that with the repealing of most of the public order and laws against freed speech and we will be on our way to a half decent police force.

The comments and avatars on that page are demonstrative of the existence of a large SUB-culture whose principal reference-points prominently include mobile phones.

Hi all,

This is something I am determined to fight, as I believe that our Library serves a very important function within our communities.

There will be a group of residents present from 2pm on Friday 13th July outside the Haughton Green Library, Denton Tameside; where, Carl Simmons who stood as Independent Candidate in Denton South at the last local elections will hand over a copy of the Library Petition he collected earlier this year and will be given to Andrew Gwynne MP!

If you would like to join us on the day you are welcome.
