Today at Oldham Magistrate's Court, in the latest chapter of the long running battle between Roy West and John Taylor, Mr West was acquitted of harassment. Criminal charges were dismissed and the prosecution offered no evidence. Mr West was given a two year restraining order not to contact senior Labour councillor Taylor.
Mr West, who is well known on the Tameside political scene having stood several times as a BNP and independent candidate (twice against Mr Taylor), will still be able to campaign, leaflet and attend local District Assembly's etc and also to stand for election.
Let's hope this common sense resolution brings this saga to a conclusion.
