While on the way to make a short video log of a site earmarked for destruction as yet another housing development threatens to engulf a local beauty spot, I come across an unbelievable scene of fly tipping. The unauthorised tip is on land just off Springbank Lane in Stalybridge. I was speaking to a local dog walker and he informed that complaints regarding the eyesore have been made but no efforts have been made to clean it up.
Not only is the scourge of fly tipping bad for the environment, it is also bad for legitimate local waste disposal businesses. The vermin responsible for this industrial scale fly tipping could undercut waste removal prices of any legitimate business because they would not have to pay commercial rates for waste disposal.
TMBC should install CCTV at this spot as a matter of urgency as it is the perfect tool to catch the illegal tippers.

Good on you Mr West. The people of Dukinfield are lucky to have a community champion like you in the area. Well done to the council too for acting upon the information you supplied them with regarding the eyesore.
Disgraceful TMBC should clean up all this rubbish. But if there was moneu to be made by cleaning it up, the Labour Cllrs would be falling over themselves to get down there.
