Only English Speakers served with Fixed Penalty Notices

The top image, dating from April last year describes how Tameside Wardens only have English FPN's. Anyone who does not speak English gets away Scot free. (No offence to our Gaelic readers!) The lower image details how people with a poor grasp of English can obtain the services of an interpreter to claim benefits.

Hmmm, why am I not surprised.

All together now, "Przykro mi, nie mowie po Angielsku"

Two telling quotes;-

"It would not be cost effective".
So Tameside admit at last. It's not about clean streets or law and order, it's about cash and profit.

"The multi cultural community Tameside enjoys"
ENJOYS???

Non-English speaking immigrants from the Commonwealth, the vast majority of whom are from sub-Saharan Africa and the Indian subcontinent (i.e India, Bangladesh and Pakistan) are massively more likely to vote Labour. TMBC and every other treacherous, Labour elected body or individual 'look after' their client voters.

Labour are scum said...

Dead right above, and they spent ten years 2000-2010 shipping them in en masse.

Labour, giving preferential treatment to minorities? Never. Harriet Harman's right hand woman at the shadow, Department for International Development is Bangladeshi born Muslim MP for Bethnal Green and Bow, 35 year old Rushanara Ali. She was promoted to the job in October after a mammoth five MONTHS experience as a Member of Parliament. Entirely on merit you understand.

Great bit of research. It does state that:

"Ethnicity is in itself not a barrier to issuing of FPNs it is a language issue. No data is available as to the ethnicity of the individual."

Unfortunately you can't FOI this one to see what percentage of offenders are from an ethnic background.

You wouldn't of thought it would be an issue for Tameside though with its 16 diversity officers.

Anyone wishing to read the report can do so here.

Some 'communities' know how to exploit every loophole in the book.

Many Asians will simply pretend they can't speak English when they are served with a FPN in order to avoid paying the fines.

NCB, I have witnessed this myself when I attended court to give evidence in a case of careless driving. An Asian taxi driver, after messing everyone, magistrates included, about for hours with his palpably false claims that he couldn't speak English was clobbered with nine points and a £950 fine by the female magistrate in charge who, by this time, had smoke coming out of her ears.

I have noted that many people now get hefty fnes and costs for refusng to give details of who was driving a car.

I would maintain that this refusal to prosecute is just the same. Why not use the same interpreters who advise benefit claimnants?
