Maiden flight of Airbus A380 over Tameside

I recorded this short clip a couple of hours ago. The panting you can hear is the crazy hound who was jumping up at the camera wanting to play while I was attempting to film the Airbus. This aircraft, the largest passenger plane in the world will become a common site over Longdendale, Stalybridge, Hyde and Denton as it flies in to Manchester on its new scheduled daily service. This is quite a coup for Manchester Airport as it is the first regional airport in the world with a scheduled A380 service. For anyone interested here is the flight schedule: Emirates' A380 flight "EK017 leaves Dubai daily at 07:55 hours and arrives in Manchester at 12:25 hours", while "EK018 departs Manchester at 14:10 hours, arriving in Dubai at 00:15 hours the next day".

There is no denying this aircraft is an impressive piece of kit, but personally only one thing annoys me more than the noise of low flying passenger jets (and rap ‘music’) and that is the roar of traffic heard near motorways, however, and quite bizarrely I do not find fast military jets such as Harriers, Tornadoes and Typhoons annoying - in fact quite the opposite! And while on this subject and for anyone interested; the excellent Southport Air show takes place on Saturday 18th September, featuring all types of aircraft ranging from the awesome Eurofighter Typhoon to the Red Arrows. A visit to the Southport air show is a brilliant day out. Traffic can be a nightmare and travelling by train is advised unless you get there well before the event begins.

I was waiting for that. I might be a secret Keith Laird (5.04). Or, maybe we were both running across the hilly land between Denton and Reddish in a bid to find a good spot to capture the footage and the hound thought what a great game this is and decided to continue it by trying to jump up and bite the camera while I was attempting to film the Airbus. Is it illegal to interfere with dogs in public……………….lol

I write to confirm that my special advisor Mr West and I have never been together in a double room during election campaigning.
I am sad that he feels he needs to resign because of the untrue allegation.

Well said John. Keep up the good work. Bash the Tories hard.

I can confirm that me and Kieran have an agreement that he will resign after two terms and I will take over or I will write a book all about it.

TC next time you go out with your camera use one of Taylor's Dog free zones, don't put up with these nasty uncontrolled dogs.

I think that all these attacks of John Taylor are wrong, he's brought real class to the leadership of Tameside council.

But of course homosexuals campaigning against the Catholic church is A OK.
An almost perfect example of double standards.

If you ever speak to Emirates passengers you will find they almost universally praise the airline.
The financial problems in Dubai may have an adverse effect on their business but they must be confident purchasing these gigantic planes, and the health of the airline industry is a good barometer for the economy in general.
Two pilots told me the other day they believed the scrapping of Heathrow's third runway and that there was no sign of Stansted or Gatwick being allowed expansion, it could only be good news for Manchester Airport.

St Bernard, the hound making the noise belongs to me and yes; he was off the lead. I detest nanny state bureaucracy and stupid rules. I just ignore the rules that I think are worthy of contempt.

TC - If you like the sight and sound of military aircraft, like me, I guess you'd be in your element if preserved Avro Vulcan B2XH558 passed over Tameside en-route to a display.
