West v The Taylor’s - The Showdown!
Quite interesting, but seriously folks are you all regressing back to childhood? I used to behave like this in kindergarten.
Firstly, what was Mrs Taylor doing knocking at the door of Roy West after he just handed a leaflet back to a Labour Party worker? Surely it was obvious he was not interested in anything the Labour Party had to say to him, so knocking on his door was purely for confrontational purposes.
Secondly, after all the trouble Roy West had last year, and right in the middle of an election campaign, why on earth did he rise to the bait and respond by attempting to film Mrs Taylor?
Finally, what can we say about Cllr Taylor? Well, to say I am surprised at his violent reaction to Roy West is an understatement. Cllr Taylor is well versed on aspects of CCTV and video evidence. Cllr Taylor is a man of good standing in the borough of Tameside. He really should know better than to risk everything he has achieved over the past 25 years for the sake of a petty incident of little relevance to anyone other than he and his local political rival Roy West.
I suggest that Mr and Mrs Taylor and Roy West think about their actions as portrayed in this short film. They are political rivals - not mortal enemies. All parties concerned must remember they live in the same neighbourhood, shop in the same shops and breath the same air. They may not like each other, but they do have to live in close proximity to each other and to prevent any future repetitions of these unsavoury scenes I think a ‘clear the air’ face to face civilized meeting may do the trick. I think this should serve as a wake up call that they need to grow up and act like adults and think about the future rather than disagreements they may have had in the past.
