Will 2010 be the year when Cllr Oldham finally retires…………

And if it is, who will replace him?

Hopefully.

Let us all be grateful they have such an intellectual lined-up to replace him.

A lot of people don't like Oldham (town and Mr R.) but the most likely alternative doesn't bear thinking about.

I beg of you Kieran said...

I have had a drink and should not really be posting this at this time but I must use this opportunity to state what a catastrophe it would if Kieran were to get the top job. I have known Kieran longer than I care to mention and Kieran buddy; you have not got what it takes to take the top job. Please think of the bigger picture and put your self interest aside for the greater good. You concentrate on the West Lancashire seat instead. You would make a brilliant MP but a disastrous council leader. You and I both know if we were outside the political arena we could never in million years hope of earning the money we get from playing the game. Remember what Joe said; “at best we could become junior managers at Asda if we had to seek employment in the real world”. Them words haunt me Kieran, I know they haunt you because we both know Joe was closer to the mark than we cared to admit at the time. Please Kieran -; don’t destroy all Roy’s achievements through self interest.

If that cross eyed fuck thinks he can take my job then he can think again!

This is great. Labour turning on the very person who has kept them in employment for the past 30 years. If it wasn't for Roy, many of the current set of councillors in Tameside would be stacking shelves in their Nisa local or worse, on the dole.

I agree that without the leadership of Roy Oldham the Labour Party in Tameside would be nowhere near as powerful as they currently are, and many of those riding the Labour Gravy Train in this borough would not be doing so if it were not for the formidable talents of Roy Oldham.

But when Cllr Oldham does eventually call it a day, he really does have a dilemma because he is not gifted with the luxury of having an obvious successor and if some of the boneheads whose names have already been touted as the replacement leader were to actually get the job; all Cllr Oldham’s good work could be unravelled in a few short years.

How will a successor be appointed and does it have to be a Labour councillor?

Its nice to see the true face of British 'democracy' exposed. David Cameron's 'pact' with Gordon Brown over BNP. I think ex-Monday Club Tory Jonathan Bowden sums up Cameron perfectly, listen to what he says from 7.20.

I've tried can't you see and still nobody loves me.
It eats away at me and drives me crazy.
All I want is somebody, anybody (except) ged cooney to love me.

I keep reaching don't ya see, why can't I stop hiding behind me.
I watch you eyes intently trying to show you what I see,
Yet you keep torturing me.

I'm scared to ask, but when I do your answer I know
That no one really loves me.

If asked how to cope with a great host of the enemy
in orderly array and on the point of marching to the attack,
I should say: "Begin by seizing something which your
opponent holds dear; then he will be amenable to your will."

There is something sinister about Quinn.

Please can anyone tell me if it has to be a Labour councillor who replaces Cllr Oldham?

Yes - Labour still outnumber the Tories and the Independents. Even if Labour self implode (as it appears they might) it would take several years of gains by the Tories to take control (as only 1/3rd of the seats become available each year).

I don't know what arrangements are in place for Labour to decide whether to keep Oldham, or for who will replace him. I guess the decision is normally made after the elections......by which time part of the decision may have been made for them!

Apparantly Roy blames John Taylor who has been promised dept leader by Kieren. John is the reason the Co-operative party backs Kieren. Also massive fall out with SPP Renoylds with Uncle Roy. Oh dear John if Roy does stay and wins you might lose your cushy cabinet job.

we love you Roy said...

Many of us are unhappy with the way the vulchers are circling above Roy. He has served us well and deserves better treatment in his twilight years. Sadly lots of our councillors are career driven and have little loyalty. They are all jostling for positions of influence in the post Oldham era.

Three men ambush schoolboy said...

A teenager has been left needing urgent treatment after being savagely attacked on the way home from school.

Sean McBrien was jumped from behind by three men leaving him severely bruised and in need of urgent dental treatment.

The 15-year-old was pushed to the ground before being repeatedly kicked in the head causing a black eye, bruising and embedding a tooth into his gum.

"It was completely unprovoked and I can't understand why anyone would do something like that," he said.

"They just kept kicking my head over and over. I didn't see much of them but they were older than me. It just doesn't make any sense and I've never had any trouble like this."

Sean's distraught mum, Leanne, said: "It's just sickening and crazy. To think they were older than him is even worse. There were a group of grown men and we just can't understand why they would target a schoolboy.

"We've never had any trouble like this before and can't see any reasoning behind it."

The attackers are all described as Asian men in their 20s and were wearing dark clothing.

The police are currently investigating the incident and appealing to any witnesses to come forward. (Of course it was unprovoked and brutal but the über
PC pc's of GMP would never want to suggest the possibility of it being a racist attack, but had the attackers been three white men and the victim an Asian child.......!)

'appalling' gang rape of teenage girl said...

Three men who joined in the 'appalling' gang rape of a drunken teenage girl have been jailed.

The trio took advantage of their young victim when she was 'intoxicated and helpless' a court was told.

While they carried out a series of sexual assaults, one of their friends took pictures on a mobile phone camera.

The girl's mother called her mobile phone during the attacks, only to hear the cries of her daughter on the end of the line.

Ajmal Afridi ,19, of Merefield Street, Rochdale, Imtiaz Syed, 20, of Ellesmere Street, Rochdale and Tayab Hussain, 19, of Henry Street, Rochdale, all pleaded guilty to rape.(One begs the question; what would the sentence be for this crime in their own countries?)

Roy Oldham in control for 30 years a great record. But Nick Griffin came along stood for Brits in the face of such anti-British hate, and still one.

Conservative Landslide 2010 said...

The difference is: Roy Oldham has helped ensure Tameside is one of the best managed borough's in the country. Imagine Taylor or Quinn attempting to run the borough, total disaster!

How is your career as a National Front candidate progressing Roy? I was wondering who was responsible for the racist spamming but now you are back I no longer need to wonder.

Roy West said...

No! Nick Griffin is a massive hero. In the face of Lib/Lab/Con/UAF hate he was elected.

Roy West said...

Conservative Landslide 2010, this is only my third comment on this page! Nick Griffin stood up against Tory/Labour/UAF hate. And he still won, thats why he's a hero to all true Brits.

I have the utmost respect for the late Margaret Oldham! She once said at the Hyde DA, 'if everyone was like Mr west, there would never be any problem with anti-social behaviour.

Actually above! the link comments are not from me nor are the others that are not related to the artical. Stop your obsession with me and get on with your own Opinions.

Shhh, don't mention victims if they're white said...

Yes, unprovoked attacks on schoolboys and gang rapes of schoolgirls are "irrelevant rubbish" if you belong to the 'mainstream' political alliance who put self interest and political correctness before the victims of the multicultural disaster.

2) 'The difference is: Roy Oldham has helped ensure Tameside is one of the best managed borough's in the country.'
In the case of yob-violence, I don't think so! A policeman gave the best answer to that question put to him by me the other day, 'we are always fighting a Rearguard action.' with the fight to keep the streets safe from yobs.
