Better late than never - Happy New Year

Well that’s that out of the way but I have concerns 2010 is going to be a troublesome year. Watching the news on New Years Day I was worried to see all the headlines dominated by stories of problems both national and international in which followers of Islam were major players. Top of the bill was a feature on the radicalisation of Muslims in British universities which almost led to a Christmas massacre involving an airliner being blown to pieces. Then the next item was about a Bosnian Muslim who went on a targeted shooting massacre in a shopping mall in Finland killing six people. Later in the day a breaking news story filled the screens on all the news channels when a Somali axe man with links to Al-Qaeda attempted to murder a cartoonist in Denmark, the cartoonists crime was to produce an image of The Prophet Mohamed of which Islamic extremists disapproved. News soon followed that UK based Muslim extremists Islam4uk are planning to provoke public outrage by marching through Wooton-Bassett to commemorate fallen Taliban fighters and condemn British troops as butchers and murderers.

Closer to home we had a violent mugging, a brutal gang race attack and unconfirmed reports about an incident which occurred in Hyde on Monday 28th December at 18.28 where two bearded Muslim men were waving a three foot long machete in the street and threatening extreme violence to local children - more on this to follow soon.

Anyway, there is seemingly one piece of good news - Global Warming is most definitely off the agenda. Do not worry though, the new buzz word is Climate Change, and remember; if Al Gore says it is true, and Gordon Brown agrees - it must be true!

Happy 2010

The time as come to invade Somalia if the United Nations don't have the guts to do it then Britain and the USA should do it, they have no effective Government its a lawless country full of terrorist.
We have hundreds of hard working sailors from all over the world being held captive by Somali pirates, there is only one way you deal with pirates blast then out of the water then leave them to the sharks.
We have been told toady that some help is being offered to Somalia and the yemen to try and counter the terrorist operation in these countries, its not enough especially in Somalia regime change is required and sadly that will need military action. then we move onto Iran.

"Is the Labour anti-fox hunting campaign featured on their leaflet for Stalybridge South a vote winner or a vote loser?"

I see the figures on your poll, but I have two questions:

1. Is there a way to vote more than once? I know that there has been on another newspaper's similar poll.

2. I ask your readers again that, if Labour had not put out their leaflet (which I have not seen), would they agree with me that the Hunting Act actually needs strengthening so that we can be sure that chasing and killing wild animals for fun is clearly and for ever unlawful and regarded by all with well-deserved revulsion?

So far as the Conservatives are concerned, if they know what's good for them politically, Cameron & Co. should, at the very least, promise to let sleeping dogs lie.

Re: the Hunting Act. I agree with Geoffrey. This should not be a question about Labour or any other party but about unnecessary cruelty in the name of sport.

There is no case for repeal. Hunt numbers are up all over the country. Drag hunting is legal. The sense of community, pageantry, heritage, and jobs are all still intact and yet these disgraceful people can’t manage to enjoy themselves unless they are terrifying and killing animals.

If you support the hunting act, please get your names on the R.O.A.R. (Register Online Against Repeal), an ‘all party’ list at: http://www.campaignfordecency.org.uk

Please make your voices heard!

JT, after a recent Somali pirate kidnapping NEW LABOUR'S FOREIGN OFFICE issued a statement emphasising the need to protect the pirate's human rights. Change Parties or shut up.

Geoffrey Wollard, mhayworth, if you are both against the infliction of 'unnecessary cruelty in the name of sport', do those strong principles extend to unnecessary cruelty in the name of religion? Or is appeasement/pretend it's not happening the easier course in the face of the industrial scale brutality and suffering inflicted by Halal slaughter.

It's only a gang RACE attack if whites do it.
Drove through Gorton tonight, nothing can change that quick without planning.
1) Remember Commonwealth citizens resident in the UK can vote in ALL British elections.
2) Wake up before it's too late.

The country's got immense problems with the economy, unemployment, masive debt, immigration and law and order but the main concern of the 'moral' righteousness brigade is bloody foxes.

meat is murder said...

Cultural sensitivities have to be respected when it comes to preventing animal cruelty. The immediate aim is to prevent the reintroduction of fox hunting. We then must work to bring angling and related sports to an end. We will then closely examine the plight of animals who may suffer as a result of religious rituals.

ABC said...

So meat is murder, but meat that is produced using deliberately cruel and brutal methods is last on the list of priorities. 'Cultural sensitivities' before live, conscious animals having their throats slit. What an utter coward, liar and hypocrite you are.

Re: The hunting ban

I hate animal cruelty in any form. When it comes to the election I will assess which party I feel has the best animal welfare agenda.

This obviously rules out any chance of my voting Conservative this year.

A repeal of the hunting ban would be a disaster for our wildlife and a national disgrace.

Halal meat is painful bloody murder. Why don't you bleeding hearts and so-called animal lovers address that first?

Labour Out. said...

Nothing to do with foxhunting or animal cruelty and everything to do with a pathetic class war attack on the 'Tory toffs', from an utterly desperate busted flush of a government that has led the country to near ruin.

I promise I will vote UKIP or BNP if the Conservatives attempt to re-introduce hunting with dogs.

The Foreign office made no such statement, but even if they did I still have the same views Blast them out of the water and invade the country now.
Why should I change my party the one I have supported for over 55years and worked for for over 55 years.

Labour Out. said...

Because virtually every statement you come out with on major issues like immigration and law and order is totally counter to the policies and actions of New Labour. The Party you have 'worked for and supported for 55 years' no longer exists. It was sold out to a conman called Tony Blair, as another electoral defeat in 1997 would have finished it permanently.
The comment made by the Foreign Office a few months ago was widely reported by several major news agencies.

Get rid said...

Life long Conservative voter, why change your vote on such a minor and trivial issue? The hyped up foxhunting 'furore' is a political tool used almost exclusively by this desperate, incompetent shambles of a government. They couldn't care less about any potential animal cruelty angle.

When I'm on the doorstep people tell me that they don't like how their council doesn't empty their bins as promised, higher council tax increases that sort of stuff. An indictment of the rubbish Labour run council really.

Can't say I have heard any complaints about fox hunting.

The real genuine JT said...

Truth is I would nuke most of the countries who give the terrorist support starting with Iran, then onto the African states who we all know are hell bent on destroying the west, a preemptive strike would sort them out

Death to traitors said...

The real genuine JT, if you did that you'd lose all your Muslim block vote support and all your Commonwealth resident vote. New Labour are so reliant on this shipped in bought and paid for support they would get utterly annihilated at the next general election.

Fox hunting is a terrible problem in Stalybridge. Only the other day a meeting galloped up melbourne street, almost knocking down good old charlie mez. and then, the next day they trotted thru Tescos car park, the horses shitting everywhere. Yeah, massive problem in stalybridge. anybody who campaigns on this issue instead of increasing crime figures, potholes, crap bin collections, ungritted roads and all the rest is bound to get the popular vote. Its a real vote winner on Copley!

Death to traitors said...

Well said Reynard. New Labour is now a pathetic, desperate organisation reduced to Michael Foot style class war tactics. Focusing on the main issues would simply draw attention to their thirteen year record of failure, incompetence and treachery.

That's the problem with Labour. No class.
