After reading with interest the statements suggesting Labour have a ‘strong’ candidate for Stalybridge South and reading of how their latest leaflet has been well received as have their canvassing team which has been scoring great canvass results when on the knocker I am finding it odd that I have yet to see this wonderful new leaflet or the Labour canvass team and funnily enough nobody I know in Stalybridge South has seen the Labour leaflet or canvassing team so all we can do for now is look at the blank space and imagine what wonderful news it contains because after all it must be good if they really think it will help them take a seat from the Tories in next years local elections. As for identifying a Labour canvassing team - here you will find some identifying characteristics. (update 12/11 - the Labour leaflet does exist and is pictured above - but I still do not know anyone in Stalybridge South who has had one delivered to their house)

You guys must remember this is a canvass leaflet let me explain, with this leaflet you knock on peoples doors introduce yourself then ask a few questions one of the questions is normally who do you support in elections.
Its been a bit difficult in Staly South because they have not seen a Tory councillor doing it,so many people are a bit surprised to see someone at the door working the ward.
You then return to the office or home and start to build up a data base of support, this is building up in Staly South we have already had 560 tear off slips returned many of them now ex Tory supporters who have made it very clear that their local councillors are never seen.
Our loyal Labour supporters in the ward have given us a great reception many have stayed with us year on year and now can see a great chance of victory,we did win it during the disastrous poll tax years Thatcher imposed on us all,we can do it again Ky is now better know than any of the Tory councillors ,what does that tell you about them.

Twas the month before Christmas, and all through the wards

I think a little truth about all these garden pictures is in order, and since the dead can’t speak for themselves, I will speak for them. We were very good friends with Andrew and his Mum and Dad (RIP), and often visited their nice home. All enjoyed gardening and their garden was lovely, clean and tasteful.
When the “Head the Ball” was moved into their vacated property the whole area suffered and I am sure still does. West did nothing to this garden for the first year or so. He couldn’t even be bothered to cut the lawn. Every time I drove past it looked more and more uncared for.
And now he has enough plants in there for three gardens and claims it was a piece of scrub before he took care of it. Laughable. *I dread to think what the back looks like,* as whenever West is involved, it’s all just front, obsessions, fantasy, exaggerations and lies.
And a photo of my neighbours garden for over a year, everything just gets thrown in the back. No joy from local cllrs, environmental health! Yet the police say it's wrong to have flags in my house!

IF there's one piece of literature guaranteed to frighten the death out of the Conservatives it’s that infamous political pamphlet the Labour Rose.
Pushed through the doors of hundreds of lucky residents across the Tameside every month, this particular piece of party propaganda is designed to keep Tameside voters up to speed with what their local lefty councilors or indeed candidates have been up to.
Nothing wrong with that, of course – such is the grease that keeps the wheels of our oily political system turning.
However, Tameside Conservatives have long made it clear they feel the Labour Rose often pushes the boundaries of, well, factual accuracy in the claims it makes about the local political scene. And there has been several furious rows over articles which local Tories felt were a wee bit economical with the truth I tend not to get involved in these sorts of slanging matches - it’s not really for me to verify the truth of every claim the parties make. But I do follow Tameside Citizen, especially to see whether any one has attacked Roy Oldham lately, to see what that halfwit Roy West has been up to and just to found what the rest of those sad enough to be typing message think about the political front of Tameside
But I had to smile tonight when on returning from my holidays I happened upon the pile of take-away menus, and advertisers and other letter a Tory news letter that was attacking an edition of the Stalybridge South Labour Rose which featured a fascinating article headlined 'Labour spin'. After reading this news letter I was quite shocked, living in Stalybridge South and not really a voter of either Labour or Tory to discover that the Tory Conservatives had done something which I thought they would never do and that was to push the boundaries of truth in their own news letter. The Candidate for Stalybridge South did indeed knock on at my house months ago armed with a petition I know this because I signed it, he was right the cat park was a disgrace and had been neglected by the Tory councilors. I have now spent the last hour reading all the various articles and have laughed out load at some off them and others about race or immigration I have been sadden by, but what seems apparent to me is this. The Tory Councilor need to not lie but fight back
