Do your bit for our military personnel in Afghanistan

The 430 Droylsden Squadron ATC have been responsible for some amazing fund raising initiatives aimed at making life a little more bearable for British military personnel serving in Afghanistan. Recently Droylsden 430 ATC raised £4000 for the Poppy Appeal which was a fantastic achievement and for which they should be applauded. They now have launched their ‘Christmas shoe box appeal’ and the aim is to provide shoe boxes filled with goodies for our people in Afghanistan.

This is a fantastic and very worthy initiative and it is a way you personally can bring some festive cheer to our people in Afghanistan who are working in an extremely hostile environment. Forget buying Christmas presents for people who do not really want or need or need them - show your support for boys & girls and spend your money on providing gifts for them which will shortly be flown directly to Afghanistan.

The final date you can deliver your Christmas box of goodies to the Droylsden base of the 430 ATC is Friday 27th November - but do not leave it until the last minute if possible. If you cannot think of what goodies our military personnel may like or need, I am sure the Droylsden 430 ATC would be happy to take a cash donation. If you cannot make it to Droylsden another way you can help is by clicking on the Beer for the Boys page of the RAF 216 Squadron who are based at Brize Norton. You can then make an online donation using Paypal or even by sending text messages which will be reverse billed to your account.

I will be delivering my shoebox of goodies to 430 Droylsden ATC next week and I will make sure it is filled with items likely to make the unknown recipient feel appreciated and admired by those at home and who are thinking of them.

If you would like to help please deliver your goody boxes to:
430 (Droylsden ) Air Training Corps
Moorcroft Street
Droylsden
M43 7YB

If you want details of what would be most appreciated in the boxes you can contact 430 ATC by ringing 0161 371 0664. Please be aware that the Squadron is only open between 7pm and 930pm Monday and Fridays.

God bless them all they are fighting to keep us all safe from the terrorist who want to kill us.

Hear hear JT. Make sure you send a shoebox loaded with goodies to Droylsden ATC. The goodies are being flown direct to the front line in Afghanistan. One of the RAF aircrew flying them over is a Tameside lad and he will make sure they get delivered safely. When choosing the contents think about us here at home in comfort surrounded by friends and family at Christmas and then think about the contrast of our troops on the frontline surrounded by a vicious enemy intent on killing them. It is the least we can do to show we are thinking about them.

Shut up Taylor, London is a hive of Islamic fundamentalists directly thanks to YOUR Party's deliberate ten year policy of forced, uncontrolled immigration/multiculturalism. The French don't call it Londonistan for nothing. The troops are doing their bit to make us safe while Labour's insane and dangerous immigration policies undo that work and sacrifice at home.

Gordon Brown and David Cameron have been forced to make grovelling apologies after they were accused of exploiting a Remembrance Day service attended by the Queen, turning it into a media 'turkey shoot' to win votes.

The extraordinary and unprecedented apologies came after the Dean of Westminster Abbey rebuked them for competing for photo opportunities at the service to mark the passing of the First World War generation.

Mr Brown was accused of a 'tit-for-tat' response on learning that Mr Cameron had had his picture taken in the Abbey's Field of Remembrance.
