Pollution in the River Tame

Have you ever walked over a bridge and tossed a plastic bottle, an aluminium beer keg or even a fridge freezer into a river? No, me neither! But some thoughtless idiots in Tameside have. This picture is of the River Tame close to the border with Stockport. The rubbish has come down stream from the Tameside direction so the Stopfordians are not to blame. Shame on the low-life’s responsible, especially the tramp who threw in the fridge freezer.

When travelling by train you can always identify the areas without pride by looking at the embankments. Some people are no better than animals and use the railway embankment at the bottom of their garden as if it were the local refuse tip.

Check out the embankment in Newton Train station!

Flytipping is getting out of control caused in part by local councils charging rip-off rates to dump commercial rubbish due to European regulations on waste and landfill sites. It's long past time we went back to making our own decisions as a country and took our national independence back.
Roll on the referendum on the Lisbon Treaty/European Constitution which daydreamer Mr Cameron thinks he can avoid.

"The Council provides ample facilities for the removal of waste and unwanted goods and materials. When people choose not to use these facilities they may dump their waste indiscriminately."
Thanks Tameside council.

Yes, but they charge too much for commercial waste.
