Tameside based Nigerian arrested in sham wedding probe
Two brides and their bridegrooms were arrested on the way to their weddings in an immigration probe into sham marriages. A Nigerian man was swooped on by UK Borders Agency officers and police as he travelled from Tameside to the service in West Yorkshire. He is one of a number of men suspected of seeking bogus brides in a desperate attempt to stay in Britain. Fixers can make £15,000 from the marriages to women from Slovakia, who can work and live here because their country is part of the EU. The would-be groom an d a man suspected of being one of the scam's ringleaders set out for West Yorkshire from Tameside on Monday.A UK Borders Agency crime team forced them off the M62 and arrested them at Hartshead Moor services. Two Slovakian brides-to-be, another Nigerian groom and a Czech national suspected of being one of the ringleaders were also arrested minutes away from a church in Scholes, near Bradford. Two other suspected ringleaders, a Slovakian man and a Nigerian man, were arrested along with six Nigerians at locations across Manchester and West Yorkshire as part of the investigation. All the suspects are being held on suspicion of immigration offences and are being questioned in Yorkshire. The borders agency launched the investigation after a tip-off from the sister parishes of St Philip and St James and St Lukes in Cleckheaton. Eyebrows were raised when two couples - both with African grooms and Eastern European brides - separately approached the parishes and said they wanted to get married `in a hurry'. Suspicions grew when other African-European couples started to flood the two parishes with inquiries. The parishes are currently without a vicar and senior clergy dealing with the couples alerted immigration officials a few weeks ago. Rev Richard Steel, from Wakefield diocese, said: "The immigration people wanted us to go through with the process, although I don't think we would have actually married them."They said they wanted to get married very quickly. We have married foreign couples in the past but the fact that we kept getting the same combination of nationalities was suspicious. There were also irregularities in the paperwork to do with names and addresses."Det Sgt Peter Gallagher, from the UK Border Agency's Yorkshire immigration crime team which led the operation - codenamed Latham - said: "We believe we have cracked an organised conspiracy." The thin end of an extremely thick wedge. This is just papering over the cracks, we need a completely new approach to immigration that states quite clearly, apart from an essential trickle of people, Britain is full.
It's a fair cop
All part of Labour's plan to destroy our national identity.
Dead right above. Labour got rid of the Primary Purpose law, which meant people had to prove it was a legitimate marriage, when elected in '97 as they'd promised the Asian - and particularly Muslim - community they would, in return for the community block vote. The same reason postal voting, which is utterly corrupt has been so massively expanded.
What is the difference between this news item and this one? The answer is not that they all wear frocks but would not make suitable childminders.
They see themselves as self-appointed community leaders and just like everyone in the 21st century British establishment have the same PC left-wing views. At least our corrupt politicians are elected. If you're a churchman spouting off to the media must be better than preaching to virtually empty (and getting emptier all the time) churches.Anyone who disagrees is'evil' 'divisive' 'fascist' 'Nazi' etc etc etc.
How many mosques have been converted into churches? The Church of England is now dominated by lunatics who want to destroy it from within.
Here we have the police trying to show the Brits that they are there to serve and protect the public. The shameful evidence is there, to show that in fact the police are a political force. Doing the political intimidation for the Labour party here in good old Tameside and beyond. The police are setting out to intimidate people (working all the way down the line with Labour) In the run up to 2010 elections, the police will set out a plan with Tameside Labour to intimidate British National Party activists. You'll see!
The Tameside Labour Mafia will do what they're allowed to get away with. Which is a lot less now they're being watched. Every one of them has got a lot to lose.
Look, corruption in the Tameside Labour Mafia is very real. Corrupt councillors like Brian Wild/Lane/Taylor are using the police to carry out political intimidation. The police are directed by vile corrupt individuals Like Brian Wild. This is a man that has a terrible drink problem, we should respect a man that is full of hate? John Taylor likes to judge people on here, yet this is from a man that sold porn vids from his market stall. A truly disgusting man. But the police turn a blind eye to their corruption. It makes you sick to the stomach.
