Is equality and diversity business imperative- rhetoric or reality?
Over the last decade I have witnessed a sea change in law and social policy in trying to address issues of inequalities in, education, employment, income, health, social care, civil participation, crime and victimisation. These extraordinary changes have brought about significant emphasis to tackle persistent inequalities by both service providers and businesses alike. The new Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) reports that by 2010 only 20% of the UK working population will be white, male, non disabled and under the age of 45. It is these realities and demographic changes that businesses will have to seriously address. The reality is that business will be looking for the best skilled and experienced workforce to fulfil its business demands and recruit people from a diverse range of backgrounds. The Equality and Diversity Centre (EDC) can provide realistic guidance and advice and training to employers to implement good equality and diversity practice as a business imperative. The EDC is also the leading case work service provider supported by the new Equality and Human Rights Commission dealing with victims of discrimination in employment. We can provide a seamless casework support services to those who are seeking legal redress under the provisions of the equality laws: Age, Disability, Race, Sex, Sexual Orientation, Transgender, Religion and Belief. why a squirrel?
Because they are a species in decline due to newcomers displacing them. A pretty similar situation as to what appears to be happening in the workplace according to this article.
