Ex-royal butler on rape charges

A former royal butler has been remanded in custody after appearing in court accused of nine counts of raping boys. Paul Kidd, 54, of Grasscroft Road, Stalybridge, spoke only to confirm his name during the hearing at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court. He is charged with a total of 18 child abuse offences, including rape. Mr Kidd, originally from Lancashire, worked as a butler to the Queen from 1977 to 1979, then senior footman to the Queen Mother from 1979 to 1984. He is charged with nine counts of rape, four of gross indecency, two of indecent assault and three of sexual assault. The former butler had been expected to enter a plea but Nicola Gatto, for the prosecution, said more time was needed to present evidence to the defence lawyers. Judge Leslie Hull adjourned the case until 6 May and remanded Mr Kidd into custody. No application for bail was made. Another man, 56-year-old David Hobday, also appeared in court charged with sexual offences involving boys. Mr Hobday, of St John Street, Dukinfield, Tameside, is charged with two counts of rape, two counts of sexual assault and one count of sexual activity. His case was adjourned to 29 April and he was remanded in custody. BBC News

True.

It's like the currant Blackmail trial. You can't name names BUT if you "google" with "royal blackmail trial" you will get foreign websites like this:-
