A Heroin addict who convicted of handling 500 stolen memorial plaques from a Tameside cemetery has walked free from jail after serving half his sentence.Paul Herrick, of Rydal Walk, Stalybridge, was arrested last August in connection with the theft of plaques valued at £146,500 from Dukinfield Crematorium.The 41 year old tried to sell them to a scrapyard for cash but was caught when the owner became suspicious and called police.Herrick pleaded guilty to handling stolen goods and was sentenced to a year in prison, but released on 11 February after serving six months. Tameside AdvertiserWithout a doubt this man is total scum, but in the same issue of The Tameside Advertiser we read of the plan to exhume 300 bodies from Christ Church in Ashton so developers can build a community centre in the church grounds. The theft of memorial plaques and the removal of graves to please developers are both upsetting to the families of the deceased but in my case I would be far more upset about the grave of a family member being removed against my will.

I think this guy was already convicted on John Taylor's website..if this guys solicitor would have seen Taylor's website.then this he could have walk free from court. Taylor rants on about the BNP but Taylor wants this guys blood.

Two things come to mind.
1) There are a handful of servicemen buried there with military headstones. One hopes due respect to these men will be forthcoming.
2) When the by-pass (Park Parade) was built in the 1970's a number of exhumations wee carried out. It was known that jewellry etc was looted from these graves and sold in the pubs of Ashton but this scandal was covered up.
One hopes that a similar situation does not arise here.

The long-term demographic projections for Ashton show a large Asian/Muslim majority.

Take a look at the votes against the BNP in the Gooshays ward had the BNP taken the seat from Labour or the Tories it may have made some headlines but it was an Existing BNP seat in a low turn out by-election and if you know the area there are race issues that have benefited the BNP.
Don't get to excited UKIP took seats in the London elections and at the European elections they only get them because of the PR system and look at them now almost finished.
The BNP in the south are not split like they are up North and in parts of the Midlands, the council elections will be interesting London's a bit more predictable, but those in the know will tell you that the council elections will be used as a barometer for the European elections so expect to see more right wing candidates.
I predict that the BNP will take a least one seat and maybe two in the London elections Livingstone will be elected nobody in their right mind would want Boris and some people will refuse to work and sit near the BNP elected officials.
