Latest leaflet from Jonny Reynolds MP

Nobody can accuse Jonny Reynolds of not communicating with his constituents. In the short time since Mr Reynolds was elected as an MP the electorate of Stalybridge have had more leaflets from him than they ever had from James Purnell.

It is decent well put together leaflet raising a valid issue, call me a sceptic - as many people do, but am I just a little paranoid in thinking that anyone who signs the petition will end up on a Labour Party database which ultimately be used for purposes of electioneering?

No mention of the extra 15 officers Tameside is getting then Johnny?

It tuns out that under the last Labour Government, Tameside was undermanned. As a result, we're getting extra resources.

Either stick that on a leaflet Reynolds, or continue peddling your spin.

CONSERVATIVES DELIVER COUNCIL TAX FREEZE FOR TAMESIDE

The Conservative-led Coalition Government has delivered a Council Tax freeze for Tameside.

The news was announced at tonight’s meeting of Full Council.

In the forthcoming year Council Tax will not increase thanks to grant money provided by the Government.

It is the first time since 1979, when the Conservatives controlled Tameside Council, that Council Tax (or formerly, the rates) has not increased in Tameside.

For the last two years, the Conservatives have proposed Council Tax freezes in Tameside, but these were rejected by the ruling Labour Group. Now, thanks to a Conservative-led Government, Tameside residents will finally receive the Council Tax freeze they deserve.

I have no hesitation in declaring Mr.Reynolds a "Bloody Lying" apology for a man.
He should become a focus for absolute contempt using ficticious fear to scare the Electorate.

do you fellows not keep up with current affairs? GMP announced yesterday that 1400 police officers would be cut over the next four years and 1600 support workers. Puts the claim of 15 extra into context doesn't it

More police for Tameside can only be a good thing.

To find out Tameside was undermanned under the last Labour Government is a shocking revelation.

Well! when we had a Labour Goverment we had three policemen on ever street corner(according to Labour) so a few won't be missed in the cuts

At the meeting:
Adam Walker talked about his tipping point for Joining the British National Party!
Mine came into play.
When Cllr John Taylor met the criminal family from Hyde, that forced a disabled mother out of her home.

Having read the Twitter links reported on the TMBC Budget Meeting
as it happened, if that`s the best Councillor John Bell can do and his fellow Tory Councillors then they are "definately not interested" in getting rid of our Labour sleazy Council.
As an opponent of Labour ?? he had the chance to really nail them to the floor and challenge their incapability to handle OUR MONEY.
So obviously he has no intention of disturbing his seemingly behind scenes close pact with the Labour Group,in which case he is a sham and absolutely bloody useless in all Departments, when it comes down to exposing and targeting our Labour nutters.
We on this site could do far more than he did,and yet he knows even more sleaze facts than we do so its time to look elsewhere from the Labour/Tory Coalition

And you think the Advertiser coverage is impartial?

Attend council meetings and see for yourself the state of 'democracy' in Tameside. Items on which opposition members are not allowed to comment ("Announcements and Communications") and standing orders that are overruled by the Chair of Council Business (opposition spokesmen can speak as many times as they like on an items relatiing to their remit, and the leader of the opposition as many times as he likes, but the chair's decision is final, ie; the opposition can speak only once, twice if their lucky).

Council meetings are a joke, go unreported in the main by the press who lean heavily towards Labour, and only act as window dressing for Labour propaganda.

In a true democracy the TMBC Twitter feed would have carried John Bell's comments as well as those of Quinn. Where was their coverage of the opposition? Silence...

It's all a joke. People don't have a voice anymore.
It's not difficult to come forward and stand in local elections.
Independent whatever.

I see, that, the Labour Cllr kicked out for groping women at the Cricket Club. Is still working for the Labour Mafia.

The Conservative Councillors have been saying for years that Council tax should not rise if the Labour Council managed their budget properly.
For the first time in 32 years of Labour control there is no rise in Council Tax. which is great news for the public,so why would the Conservatives in opposition make speeches against it.

Tameside Council need to cut: Salaries (especially for senior management); jobs - especially massively overpaid senior management positions; get rid of all non-jobs such as climate change officers, diversity officers etc etc etc.
They need a total shift in priorities in the current dire economic circumstances. The public sector isn't a job creation and protection scheme, essential public services come first, for example the roads which are in an appalling condition.
Because there's less money available prioritising is essential.

No Tory opposition to the council tax freeze, it was, after all, the Tories that delivered it.

However, definite opposition to the rubbish spouted by Labour.

Even the biased local press cannot hide some of the moronic comments made by Labour politicians. Just take a look at the Advertiser's Twitter feed on their website. Ann Holland must take top prize for the "Most Stupid Comment of the Year" award.

Some people are too stupid to talk in public. The majority of the Labour Group at full council are banned. The two statements are not mutually exclusive.

"...Some people are too stupid to talk in public. The majority of the Labour Group at full council are banned. The two statements are not mutually exclusive,"

should read:

"Some people are too stupid to talk in public. The majority of the Labour Group at full council are banned from making speeches. The two statements are not mutually exclusive"

Apologies.

Ann Holland is a left-wing nut job. The same goes for her luddite husband. She once admitted in one council meeting that she suffered from depression as a result of Major getting re-elected in '92. It resulted in roars of laughter from the public gallery.

Ann also got a little rattled when I suggested that the number of councillors should be cut and so should their salaries. She said it wasn't her fault for the Tory cuts, so why should she suffer?

I'm sorry love, but try telling that to your electorate in Droylsden and see if they agree with you.

That's the trouble with rabid Labourites like Ann Holland. They parade as socialists and yet they've made aliving from politics. As a result, their erratic rants are not based on common sense, but simply designed to protect their self-interests; ie. salaries.

When somebody like Taylor freely admits in the press that he can't make a living selling junk on the market, and that he's going to concentrate on his living from council duties, you know that the system is seriously flawed.

That's why we are seeing moronic letters in the press by the shedload from the Labour ranks each week. It has nothing to ideology or reality, it is simply stupid people trying to protect their living.
