We never found out whether ex-Cllr Brodie intended to pay his legal bills with the £1500 he tried to pinch but this was clearly in the "bad old days" before the gravy train pulled into Tameside. I liked the reference to "rival groups"
Footnote. Cllr Brodie got a five year sentance in 1997. Cllr Wilkinson's partner, Ms Yvonne Valerie Anne Cartey went on to become involved with TEL (Tameside Enterprises ltd) as well as becoming a director of Tameside Community Radio ltd whose boss, Simon Walker is also ex-TEL and ex-Labour councillor. She is reported to have been selected to stand in St Michael's Ward in place of Cllr Harrison.

What a vile bunch of vipers. They look like a gang of crooks when you see them skulking around Longdendale.
These Labour crooks are the ones that get caught. So many more of them go on for years robbing, and pulling the wool over our eyes. But one man continues to see them in their true reflections.

I recall seeing comments on here last year about how Labour would suffer in the Elections because they could not get the same people like they did in by-elections.
Do you recall them and the Newton and Denton results I do, in Longdendale Labour have had more people out working,why is that other party's cant even match half their numbers.
My guess its about huge splits in the local opposition they cant work together, we know about the Tories and the BNP having serious problems in the ranks,but the Greens and UKIP why cant you get together a few party workers and do some work let the voters know who you are for Gods sake.
Labour had landslide results in the by-elections and the again in the May council elections in Tameside gaining two seats.
Some may criticise them but you cant fault their work rate and their success rate in Tameside,they work in all weather and have a strategy to work on.
They have real leadership in their party not like the opposition party's who are all over the place,they do run a very good council even known Tories admit that.
Lets see some real opposition for a change, the opposition need to get off their backsides in the next few weeks and give Labour a run for their money,its not to late to act or is it?
It's the corruption in the ranks of Labour Tameside Mafia. Many of them have criminal convictions from the past, not a case of being judgmental, but they have carried on their criminal way of life through being elected, and using their criminal methods to make sure that they stay in office.
Serious allegations with no proof very easy to make these allegation hiding behind anonymous posting on a blog.

in reply to Ex Tory there is no split in the Tory party,just look at the photo's of the Labour workers in Longdendale, they are nearly all Cllrs being paid by the taxpayer. There are 47 Labour Cllrs so if only they go out without the party activist they beat the Conservatives in man power hands down.
When you think they are running the Council and are paid for doing so, ask yourself if they are all out in Longdeddale who's running the ship (officers and that is very dangerous)

Lady Knighton did a great campaign to reopen the Library but the empty headed electorate didnt vote for it.
