Spies r Us.
Amongst the qualities and experiences required of the new recruit are:-
An investigative and enquiring mind...
Extensive experience of information and evidence gathering...
Extensive ability to seek out information by personal interview and probe and clarify by question....(I think the technical term is "Interrogation")
General experience of surveillance and intelligence gathering...
Risk assessment / reconnaissance / surveillance procedures....( "Risk assessment...reconnaissance"! ! Do they mean save the last bullet for yourself, don't get captured?)
The job specification is even more bizarre, demanding of our new Spetsnaz ....
Technical knowledge and skills in relation to surveillance....equipment and techniques
Conduct overt and covert surveillance using specialist equipment and techniques...
And so on. So who are our local spy network. None other than New Charter Housing Trust. Somehow I don't think you were surprised.? The apply by date is now past for this job, but somehow I think they will be recruiting more.
Am I the only person somewhat concerned by a private company with interests other than housing recruiting people who can only be ex-police or services if the recruitment criteria are as stated in the advertisement? The tendency for former police to use their old contacts to access what should be private and secure computer data is widespread. Given the close links between New Charter and GMP there is no room for complacency.
£36k of police vehicles given to GMP by New Charter. "He who pays the piper calls the tune"
For all their surveillance and interrogations they were unable to save the life of harassed tenant David Askew
