I've just been listening to the devastated Reeves brothers on SKY TV, who ran the family owned Reeves furniture shop in Croydon, started by their ancestors in 1847. Their business premises has been gutted by mindless arsonists and decades of hard work have been burnt into history. They simply said "Our lives have been destroyed tonight".
Many of us have been warning about the breakdown of law and order, the toxic mix of materialism, consumerism and lack of respect or responsibility amid a sea of corruption, degeneracy and decadence. We cannot start too soon in investigating the causes of the rioting.
It is not too early to preview some of the conclusions the community will reach.
The first thing to say is that these events have nothing whatsoever to do with race or immigration. The second is that events have emphasised the strength of community in mixed areas. Let us not forget that the trouble began in united Tottenham as a result of community cohesion after the tragic death of a family man.
In fact the community's reaction to the trouble has taught us how united are all races in the face of loss of the harmonious and peaceful life they are accustomed to.

The Lib Dems are to be congratulated for the magisterial conduct of their leader who was left as the most senior politician on duty for two days. Mr Livingstone has rightly pointed out that he appointed 7,000 more officers in London preventing much damage.
All deserve more votes and money for the public service they have given.
Above all we must avoid knee jerk reactions like cancelling the Notting Hill Carnival which has done so much to build a harmonious London.
Events have proved how wrong the BNP and their supporters have been about immigration and race. Careful assessment will show that the rioters were an accurate cross-section and sample of our society in ethnic terms.

I’ve just had a very interesting chat with a friend from London. As we speak we have Millwall and Crystal Palace casuals out in large numbers defending their areas from the rampaging immigrant hordes. This is a precursor to a statement soon to be issued by the EDL and North West Infidels calling for a general mobilisation of all patriotic English men of fighting age. Professor Meiklejohn was highly respected at that time, and still has his admirers today. He is perhaps most famous for translating into English Immanuel Kant’s “Critique of Pure Reason”. A modern book reviewer has remarked of him that his “… ideas on the theory and practice of education were largely in advance of their time.”
Therefore, I maintain that it is perfectly fair political comment to quote a passage from Professor Meiklejohn’s history book, used for the historical education of children and students from 1897 until, in some schools, as recently as 1960, and also to ask readers to compare the events it describes with the sorry state and feeble politicians of today. I think you will be fascinated. The passage describes the events of 1827.
