A wise old Buzzard

More Buzzard footage. I never took birds for being creatures with high intelligence but this Buzzard is one wise dude. Unbelievable as it may sound - this bird can actually spot a hidden camera when in use. It will not settle down to eat when the lens is exposed on the camera. When the battery goes flat and the lens cover closes it will come and eat. To us that may not seem like a big deal, but this is a wild animal which has very little interaction with human beings. How can it tell that when the lens is exposed it is a potential threat - does it mistake the exposed lens as the very large eye of a potential predator?

Have you trained it like 'Kes' yet?

Where did you get so many worms from to feed it?

It is eating mince meat not worms.

If you take a look around the Denton Woods/Reddish Vale area you will see three buzzards circling overhead most days. They have a very distinctive call like a very loud cat meowing.

Thanks, I'm off down there with my new Chinese air rifle.

OMG that is obscene what do you think you are playing at feeding meat to a bird. Birds are vegetarian and should only be fed nut, fruit, seeds, fatballs and worms. You will kill it if you carry on.

A buzzards primary diet is small rodents (which I believe have a meat content, but I'll have to check), also, other birds, reptiles and amphibians.

Worms are not vegetables so they must be made out of meat too.
