From welfare to workfare - a policy statement from the United Kingdom Independence Party

The policy document can be read by clicking here.

It is a well put together document and I find myself agreeing to many of the policy objectives. Section 4, The Welfare State and the Social Costs is very thought provoking. Sub section 4.5 is controversial and who could argue against 5.3?

If UKIP could get this document across to a wide audience in a target ward or constituency it would definitely increase their electoral chances. It is well worth a read, especially for those who are of the opinion UKIP is some kind of ‘fake’ political party.

Talk and words are cheap, we heard all this from New Labour in the mid 90's and look at the massive increase in State spoonfed deadbeats. When it comes to the crunch of booting them onto the street because they refuse to work UKIP will bottle it just like all the establishment Parties.

No question it's a set up party, for three or more years, ukip members details were falling into the hands of Searchlight and the SWP.

ukip said...

Could you show me any Labour party policy document that promises to do this that has been adopted as offical policy like this has?

Thank you TC, this is an important document that deserves a good reading and although not a local issue it could make all the difference to many Tamesiders lives.

ukip said...

I do not see 4.5 as controversial, even Labour accept that many claimants on DLA/InCap are not in fact entitled to them. Whilst I accept there are many disabled people who are incapable of work, there are many more who would be capable in the correct job, this would boost their self esteem and confidence, not to mention their bank balance! I would have no hesitation in employing somebody who was disabled, provided they were in a suitable role and could do the job. The fact that they would still have their BCB and could keep 100% of what they earn on top would seem to me to be the greatest step forward for the disabled since WW2.

Thanks UKIP and I agree people who have an interest in politics really should read the document. Also bear in mind that UKIP is no ‘toothless tiger’. They have thirteen elected MEP’s and an MP at Westminster. They are easily Britain’s fourth political party and with the top three being so similar in every way UKIP is definitely a viable alternative to the ruling cartel and they have real potential for big gains in the future under the leadership of Lord Pearson.

Response to Anon in the previous thread:
The high birthrate in Africa and the prevalence of AIDs are linked, as also is the poverty level. I am no advocate of charity for Africa, but if we can buy food from Africa cheaper than we can from the EU (which we could after we have left)then It makes perfect sense for us, and would reduce poverty and dependency in Africa. This in turn would reduce the birthrate, Africans have large families, to protect the parents from their children(pension)dying. Reducing the deathrate, reduces the birthrate, reduces the population. The Idea of deporting AIDs victims is crass, what do you suggest? cattle truck? or maybe a version of Con-Air with the engine exhaust leading into the fuselage?
I would add that I would add that UKIP is against further immigration to the UK. We would close the UKs borders much more effectively than the LibLabCon, and would reduce immigration to far below the amount of emigres.

ukip said...

TC, I would add that we have two sitting peers in the HoL, plus another 3 non sitting(thanks to Labours reforms) peers of the realm.
I would also like to point out I will respond to any reasonable post on any parties policies, local or national. I must also say the atmosphere feels a lot nicer, long may it continue! I just hope other posters are prepared to forego their anonymity and post sensibly.

Britain needs to stop sending £billions to Africa and the rest of the third world, stop the import of African cleaners to work in the NHS. They don't clean up properly.

ukip said...

Anon, I think we have covered this, Ukip would slash the aid budget, we would of course be prepared to help in the event of disaster,(Haiti,New Orleans, the Tsunami) this would be humanitarian practical help. UKIP is not in favour of long term aid. It is slightly cliched now, but we are advocates of the 'give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime' approach. If I had a choice between two identical products at the same price, I would pick the third world one over the first world one anyday. This is practical charity.
We have already stated that we would only allow immigration for people who had skills/talents that we did not have, or could easily acquire. Cleaning hospitals is not a skill shortage in the UK.
Your last sentence is not worth commenting on!

Anonymous said...

The fact is ukip, Britain wastes more on foreign aid, and importing African cleaners to work in the NHS.
Thats a real concern

ukip said...

I know it is a real concern, I have just told you that UKIP would not allow either. Ask Lib LabCon the same questions, I can promise they will not give you as straight forward an answer. I would also point out that we would not import hospital cleaners from any country, be they white, black, yellow or green. We do not need any fresh hospital cleaners whilt we have six million on benefits!

Conservative about to join UKIP I want you to explain to me what is idiotic about highlighting the welfare scandal of the African AIDS victims now using our NHS? Or the scandal of the 25,000 British pensioners freezing to death in Britain each year. Does this not make your blood boil? What about the £million a month going to Poland in child benefit? Maybe you should take a look at some of these care homes with British pensioners being abused? It's all there if you look for it, but the traitors in power want to look after foreigners with AIDS rather than their own people. The reality for British people is coming second in their own land.

Tameside Citizen said...

Anonymous said: “the traitors in power want to look after foreigners with AIDS rather than their own people. The reality for British people is coming second in their own land”.

I would find it difficult to argue against that statement. We do have traitors in power, in centuries gone by people were hanged, drawn and quartered as traitors for doing far less against our national interests than the current Westminster traitors. Traitors who have brought our country to the brink of total ruin while at the same time making themselves fantastically wealthy as our nation sinks into the mire of social decay and debt.

With regards to the massive influx of African migrants into Britain with the HIV virus, many of whom live in Ashton and surrounding areas, what I say is; do not blame them. If you were in their situation would you just lay down and die in the African bush, or would you go to the promised land where treatment and prosperity is on offer? The ones who should be blamed for this crisis are again the traitors who prioritise their pet projects over the well being of the indigenous people of Britain.

On a final note, would you have the heart to man passport control at Manchester Airport and turn away every HIV infected African who arrived Britain for treatment, knowing that if you turned them away you were condemning them to a certain death sentence?

Anonymous said...

'On a final note, would you have the heart to man passport control at Manchester Airport and turn away every HIV infected African who arrived Britain for treatment, knowing that if you turned them away you were condemning them to a certain death sentence?'

Yes I would because they have never paid into the NHS,and further more,25,000 British pensioners die each year from the cold in this nation. Britain is sinking under the mass of foreigners using the NHS,claiming benefit. We even have tens of thousands of the worlds criminals in our jails for God's sake. What are we doing to ourselves? it's utter madness. I believe in the future of white children, call me what you will but I'm distressed of the situation. We see about,a massive change in culture in this land and it makes my heart sink. We live in a country that puts the worlds popualtion before it's own people.

ukip said...

We have council and GE candidates from every major race and religion, we also have Gay and Lesbian candidates. I do not see how we can be called racist. We want to stop widespread immigration, from every corner of the world, pray tell ,how is this racist?
I am sure somebody will ask how many from each group? I am happy to tell you, I do not know, nor do central office. UKIP is proud to say we do not monitor, record or collate any statistics based on race, religion or sexuality. Why should we, it is none of our business!
The fact that so many posters conflate Africans with AIDS tells a bit of a story in my eyes. In my opinion nobody diagnosed with a lethal disease should be allowed to move into this country. The issue of unsuspecting undiagnosed victims is completely different. It is impractical to screen for AIDS as the incubation period is too great, Therefore anybody accepted into this country and later diagnosed would be entitled to treatment. A UKIP government would have all but halted immigration anyway, and the amount of infected patients would be a trickle anyway.
The issue of 25,000 pensioners dying every year can be laid directly at the door of the Labour party. They have kept UK pensioners amongst the poorest in Europe, whilst dishing out money to their union paymasters. What sort of sick mind could devise the winter fuel allowance,Pay pensioners that they have kept in penury £250 a few weeks before Christmas. The first thing most will do is buy presents for their families and maybe some food for the festive period,They will then sit in the bitter cold, because they know they will have no lump sum to pay the winter fuel bills which will arrive Feb/March/April!
UKIP would abolish the Winter fuel allowance and Increase a single pension to £125 per week.

The only party that would ever come close to them, would be the British National Party. Any strong BNP campaign in Werneth could run the Tories close. It's always a surprise when a paper candidate gets over the 400 mark.

Inspector James H said...

No because most do not currently pay rent, One department of the council charges rent and raises a bill, whilst another department processes a rebate. This will be a much fairer system especially when you consider 80% of pensioners are owner occupiers.
UKIPs full pension policy is available if you click on my name. Be warned though, reading it is not for the faint hearted. It is a very detailed policy.

UKIP, you can keep your homosexual candidates and the 'gay' vote you're seeking. The BNP is not ashamed to state it does not believe all relationships are equal or normal, but does believe in allowing people to live their lives without State interference. The instant PC, main Parties (and UKIP) response to this is attempted abuse and vilification, such as accusing people of the invented thoughtcrime of 'homophobia' or with supreme irony, 'being intolerant'; 'We will not tolerate this disgraceful intolerance', i.e. anyone who dares to disagree with OUR view that two men marrying and sodomising each other is perfectly normal.
The BNP reject trendy PC thinking on many modern issues which is why the establishment hate them so much. Contrast the hatchet job done on Nick Griffin with Farage's comfy rides on Question Time.
The BNP truly threaten the rotten, traitorous establishment that is wrecking Britian.
UKIP is part of it.

Inspector James H, explain what is 'hateful' about my comments.

ukip said...

Christian values, I do not want to get dragged to far from the original subject( have you read our policy?)But I understand I will be called a coward if I do not respond.
The simple fact is some humans are born Gay, get over it! UKIP treats gays no differently to anybody else, we would never discriminate against somebody because they are gay, nor would we promote or allow taxpayers money to be used to fund Gay propaganda. What people do behind their own front doors is their business and not the business of any party or government. I believe I am correct in saying there is a disproportionate number of Gay clergy in the Christian churches, Christian values indeed!

Inspector James H said...

You are suggesting members of the homosexual community are somehow not normal.

Well ukip has to follow the pc road on homosexuality. Christian values is probably a Christian, that follows the Bible's teachings that homosexuality is a sin. But Christians will need to be brought into line on the issue of homosexuality.

Inspector James H said...

Homosexual people are perfectly normal and just because their sexual preference may different than yours does not mean they are weird or abnormal.

ukip said...

How many heterosexual couples practise anal sex, I believe the current term is 'kicking the back door in'. Perhaps CV can explain his views on this issue between consenting adults?

Christian values said...

UKIP, learn to argue instead of continually quoting from a document written by someone else.
Some men are born effeminate, in other words their brain chemistry is abnormal. There is treatment avalable for this. Institutionalising abnormality, sanctions and causes it to spread. Once you accept something that is patently abnormal is normal, where do you draw the line? UKIP's policy on non-interference in people's lives is identical to the BNP's.
I don't understand the clergy related comment as I'm not religious but believe strongly in keeping the values that played an essential part in making Britain what it is.

Anonymous said...

Well according to the Holy Bible it's a sin. So ukip can put all this sodimy, supporting activity on his leaflets, for Tory Werneth. not a good start to his campaign telling Werneth Tories he supports sodomising men! Just a thought!

Christian values said...

How many heterosexual couples use pressure groups that want to preach to schoolchildren that everything they do in private is 'normal'?
Anyway you just said you didn't care what people do in private. Neither do I, but then my views are consistent as they're founded on logic and principle not expediency. The problem is the State interfering and trying to control people's thoughts and opinions, then attempting to demonise those who disagree.

1922: UKIP promised to cut 40% from council tax. Council tax only accounts for around 20% of a councils spending, The other 80% comes from Whitehalls general taxation. Therefore to cut 40% from council tax, you only need to reduce Council spending by 8%. This in Tameside would be a doddle without affecting frontline services. Tameside MBC employ around 7000 staff, how many have you seen?

I've been sold a lie by Labour said...

UK terrorist threat level raised to 'severe'. Is this part of the enrichment Labour politicians have been forcing us to accept since 1997?

Christian values said...

UKIP, you were quoting official Party policy, presumably documented (which courts the homosexual vote) when you boasted about UKIP's homosexual elected representatives. This is totally contradictory to your position as a Party of family values, just like all the other establishment Parties, an example of expediency and attempted vote gathering taking precedence over principle and logic. But like every spokesman for an establishment Party, toeing the PC line comes first.
I gave my view on heterosexual anal sex; it's private and of no interest or concern to any political Party, and is a totally separate issue to homosexual pressure groups trying to institutionalise abnormal lifestyles and behaviour.
Re non-interference, I said, in people's personal lives, not in matters which affect the nation's general wellbeing such as repatriation. If UKIP want to treat the immigration of sub-saharan Africans in the same category as all immigration, that might be PC but it flies in the face of the scientific evidence on race, re integration, intelligence and behaviour of the average individual from that region. Race isn't everything but it IS a factor that should be considered, just like religion and culture, in particular the Islamic, when it comes to assimilation, breeding rates and the general good of Britain and its indigenous people.
As for being 'selective about which posts you respond to', a basic understanding of a subject and an ability to construct a reasoned argument around it would be a good place to start. Failing that stick to quoting Party policy and statistics.

As for re-introducing National Service, what are you going to do about Muslims, the vast majority of whom would refuse to enlist, and virtually all of whom would refuse to serve in Muslim countries. This community's loyalty lies with their culture/religion not their abode of convenience, i.e. Britain. If you don't believe me check out the MOD's own figures on the couple of hundred 'British' Muslims currently serving.

UKIP supporter said...

Muslims first loyalty is to their religion and then to their country. A study of current demographic trends suggest by the year 2028 Muslims will account for just over 40% of the total British population. In France, Sweeden and Denmark they will account for more than 60% of the population. UKIP suggest we are nice to Muslims because when they do become the majority, we as the minority will depend on their goodwill to treat us equals. Most Muslims are good people and we must accept they are here to stay and we have no option but to make the best of the situation we now find ourselves in while preparing for a future in a Muslim majority country.

Abuse of power said...

All Public Sector workers had better be ready for an increase in the amount of stick they get as the public are now totally sick of being stolen from, overtaxed and treated as a an inconvenience by every tier of the rotten establishment. In Swindon traffic wardens now issue tickets until after ten pm to try and steal more money from law abiding citizens. Do you think they get less or more stick as a result of this absolutely typical decision which is nothing more than an abuse of authority. Speed cameras, large fines for driving a few feet in a bus lane, some of which generate hundreds of thousands of pounds per year, congestion chareges, all designed to rake in money to prop up the massively bloated State sector.
My advice is, if you're going to work for modern British government at any level, be prepared for more abuse as the legislature has never been so hated, and never has it been so justified.

There’s a moment in some taxi journeys when the driver starts banging on about “them immigrants” when you decide whether you’re going to wade in or zone out. When it comes to the BNP and the General Election, many politicians have decided to sit back in their seat and hide behind their newspapers.

It is the same message I get from many (though not all) Westminster politicians, including some top Tories. That is, we should not tackle the BNP because no one in the country is under any doubt about which party would be tough on immigration and a row just gives the BNP the oxygen of publicity and............................................blah blah blah he continues in a similar vein throught his long and boring rant.

It is worth noting he is a leading figure in The Conservative Friends of Israel, two of the three Labour MP's for Tameside are leading figures for the Labour Friends of Israel. These 'Friends of Israel' groups; the Liberal Democrats have one too are the real string pullers of the British political elite. They were the driving the force behind the illegal war in Iraq and the ongoing disaster of Afghanistan.

It should come as no surprise to astute political observers to discover that Cousins and his fellow interlopers in the Lib/Lab/Con 'Friends of Israel' are now trying to crank up hatred against Iran - to prime the British people to accept another illegal invasion of a sovereign state which is no threat to Britain but certainly a threat to the bandit state of Israel.

Have a look at the various Lib/Lab/Con 'Friends of Israel MP's and note how they all vote the exact same on Middle Eastern foreign policy. They are conspiring against British interests and are using our troops as cannon fodder.
