First Labour leaflet of 2010 for Droylsden East

Labour were canvassing in Droylsden yesterday. According to a Droylsden correspondent they were, or appeared to be new to the art of canvassing. It is said a serving Labour councillor went into a stuttering panic when a household confronted him over the Droylsden Marina debacle.

I assume these leaflets are all legal and above board, perhaps Labour would be prepared to scan and publish the invoice relating to these leaflets.

Oh noes! Labour didn't register that address before they sent out the leaflet!

school boy error indeed!

you could have an awful lot of fun with that blog site - lol

although i dont see the point of the second post, if they cost £10,000, so what, its not an election period so they can spend what they like.

How thick must they think their voters are by putting 999 in the contact details

The Droylsden Marina, the stupidest idea in Tameside's history. And that's up against some pretty strong competition.
I'm no fan of Oldham (council leader or town) but Quinn would be a nightmare for the Borough by comparison.

This leaflet also contains no P&P details which makes it illegal. The person who sent it in was canvassed by Jim Middleton; she described Cllr Middleton as being somewhat confused and enquired if he had learning difficulties. I think Cllr Middleton famously struggled to add up £2.00 + £4.00 - £3.00 at a full council meeting a couple of years back when asked a question about school bus fare subsidies.

Kindergarten Cop said...

No that was Alan Whitehead when he couldn't work out school bus fares. He ended up saying something like "If you times £1.20 x 5 then that equals... errr... errr..." *cue laughs from councillors* "a lot of money for parents".

Jim Middleton is a bit thick. According to my source, he has to have his letters and speeches spelled out phonetically and punction has to be in a different colour so that when he reads it, he remembers when to stop and take a breather.

It's no wonder educational standards are poor in Tameside when the standards of their councillors is even worse!

Alan Whitehead’s abacus formerly known as EC said...

OOOOOOOOOOOPPPPPs, Jim, pass me the dunce’s hat if you are finished with it. It does contain the P&P details which are to the right of the clock.

“The UKIP party states in its policy document that the ‘current welfare state leads to a decline in the work ethic and self reliance’,” Mr Barnes said.

“This is, simply put, utter rubbish. The welfare state assists persons back into work and ensures that we do not have a society where the poor are punished for being poor.

If it ukip wasn't such a fake set up,I'd have more respect. But it's so obviously a FAKE party. It's there to be a spoiler, it takes BNP policies for the purpose of taking bnp votes.

ukip said...

"Mr Barnes pointed out that this was the “exact opposite of what is required. All universal benefits should be scrapped and all benefits means tested.

“Furthermore, these figures are nonsense. The billions paid out every year to those in jobs and earning high wages in universal benefits is a disgrace. Prince Charles was entitled to claim universal benefits for William and Harry, therefore such a system is farcical,” he said."

Truly astounding! Leaving aside the racist tag. What you are saying is that the people who contribute most in taxation are not allowed access to the same benefits as everybody else? How many pensioners die every year because they are unable or too ashamed to fill out 16 page forms for means tested benefits? Why don't we just scrap the old age pension that millions have spent their whole life contributing and just give them what the BNP thinks they should have. The BNP could extend the policy into health care, use a slight twist on the American system, instead of refusing treatment for the poor, you could refuse it to the rich.
I will include parts of that post on my revamped website.People have not realised yet you are the far left wing of Labour even more extreme socialism/communism. I am too flabberghasted to even bother dissecting it more. I am afraid your party are economically illiterates. Truly cringe worthy!

Not in the least, I have never criticised the amount of effort he puts in, just the fact he does it in working hours, when most Taxpayers cannot. I have always said that I would happily stand aside as Chairman,Council candidate or PPC if somebody better comes along. I spare as much cash, effort and energy as I can. As most people on here are aware we could do with many more activists. The shame is there are always plenty of SWP, Labour,Green,BNP activists about, the rest of us have to work for a living to support these activists, and are too knackered to do as much!

What about all the immigrants who are bleeding the country dry and who take far more tax money than all the groups you mentioned combined?

ukip said...

Yep, I agree. Stop immigration, But base it upon skills and employability rather than race. Our NHS would have been screwed without nurses from abroad, that is Labours fault for not training enough UK nurses! would you really want to stop Swiss commodity brokers coming here to work? Or American surgeons? How about Ugandan Asians who run thousands of corner shops, or Chinese take aways? or the local Kebab shop. Why not close Kongs?. The problem is not race, it is idle sods of all races that take advantage of Labours welfare state. It should be a safety net, not a lifestyle!

First of all, I would never apply to join ukip. I believe it to be a fake party set up by the state in order to take BNP votes, or to take interest away from the BNP.

Give it a rest, How can we be fake, we exist! We beat the Government in the last national election. We have more than six times as many MEPs than you do! We have 200% more members of the HoL than you do. We have at least five Peers of the Realm, how many have you got? We are the only party in the UK with no debt, lets see your accounts. How can you trust a spendaholic party that allows itself to survive on debt to run your Country?
Please give it a rest with your 'fake' party nonsense. The last thing we need is yet another one eyed socialist nutter ranting about their opponents, Tell us what YOU will do instead of sniping about the opposition

Why DOES the Labour party not train enough nurses (or doctors, or engineers etc)? Rather than defend immigration by using the tired old mantra "The NHS would collapse without immigration" you should ask WHY do we not train our own.

Please explain what useful purpose Swiss commodity brokers serve? Are they selling Swiss cheeses in Ashton market? What "commodities" are they selling? I suspect they are part of the breed of parasites who caused the banking collapse.

Finally, can we put an end to the "what about corner shops, take-aways, Kebab shops etc etc."

The UK had fish and chip shops and corner shops long before mass immigration. And lets say the unspeakable , what's so bloody special...or good.. about Kebabs? They are fatty, badly cooked, over spiced and over priced. They are CRAP! I am perfectly capable of cooking my own food. I do not sit back and allow centuries of British culture to disappear just so I can eat 3rd rate food and save a few minutes cooking.

And I have not even touched the subject of how much of the food sold is Halal!

Roy, I thought TC said you had stopped your broadband subscription and sold your PC to cash converters. What gives with the recent shite comments? You need some professional help.

ukip said...

Sorry Tony, had not seen your post when I posted my last:
We do train our own nurses( my partner is currently doing a nursing degree) The simple fact is Labour had to increase the salary/Qualifications of their core vote, They decided all nurses had to have 3 years training to qualify for a degree instead of one years qualification and then on going training. This led to two years with no new UK nurses, hence immigration to paper over the cracks.
I understand the politics of jealousy, however commodity brokers provide profits that help UK businesses AND then pay Taxes in excess of 50% on top of that, Then pay more than 50% on the little that is left then pay another 17.5 % for everything they buy. I am afraid you sound just like G Brown and the other Communists.
You are correct The UK had plenty of corner shops, chippies, etc. But how many would now work the 70+ hours that our excessive taxes now make necessary. Some immigrants have taken it in their stride, the problem is less about immigration, and more about the native British. Can you see Roy at the fruit market at 4am then running a fruit and veg stall until 5 pm? me neither I am afraid.
I have no problem with the genuine disabled, but you must be sick of being tarred with the same brush because of spongers.
I too mourn British cuisine, but what are you going to do about it? You cannot force people to eat what you say unless you are a socialist party like Labour that specify how much Fat,Sugar,Salt and e numbers people are authorised to eat.
I do enjoy Italian,Chinese and Kebabs, I do not like Indian or other spicy foods, does that make me a less than perfect Briton?

More taxpayers funds to fritter on the workshy!

But ukip, if we stopped sending billions to India and the third world, to watch them feed and breed,
Then we could have the money to look after our own pensioners?

ukip said...

I can only agree that we should not send aid to countries like India.
However we should be prepared to buy goods from whichever country has the best prices. We should stop the artificial subsidies through CAP and buy the best products at the best prices. This could only help the third world. Let them trade their way out of poverty, rather than subsidising corruption.

tonydj said...

UKIP

You get close to the problem when you mention your partner taking a degree. It now costs more to take a degree than it did in the 1960's due to increased fees and loans rather than grants.

We are pricing our own people out of education and then replacing them with overseas workers, looted from the third world. Is it moral to take health workers from the third world and leave the third world short of trained health workers?

I do not advocate banning foreign food. I merely state that it is not as good as it is cracked up to be and it is certainly not the best advertisement for the transformation of our cities into third world look-alikes.

I repeat my question, what do commodity brokers produce? They speculate on the price of comodities produced by others. International parasites. Do they pay taxes? Or do they avoid them. Lets legalise drugs and the sex industry and tax that!

Quote "We should buy from the country which has the best prices". China uses prison "slave" labour. Many countries exploit child sweated labour, is that ok as long as it's cheap?

I am sorry but I cannot understand your reasoning. Surely you don't condone such exploitation? You seem to see it as ok to turn a blind eye to such exploitation in the pursuit of your ideological committment to economic liberalism while at the same time being critical of Nationalists having a similar committment to their ideology.

John Yates said...

Well said Mr Jones. Capitalism is in the process of crossing the border into exploitation. Massive numbers of British working people are now considerably worse off than they were five years ago. Wage rises are largely non-existent and the price of many staple goods is rising. What is the point of the capitalist system if we're becoming poorer under it?
If immigrants, or anyone, want to work their fingers to the bone for a pittance to massively enrich others, that's helping to create the 'mug' culture many employers want and leading us back to serfdom and forelock tugging.
I want a fair day's pay for a fair day's work. If that's too much for the new globalised capitalism, get rid.

The end of Anglo-Saxon England said...

Decades of Conservative and Labour immigration policies have turned Britain into the world’s collective rubbish bin as new figures reveal that there are criminals from 160 different countries in UK jails.

The total number of foreign inmates — all arrested in Britain after emigrating here and then committing serious crimes — is at least one out of every five prisoners, according to other figures released last year by the Home Office.

These statistics do not, however, include the first or second generation children of immigrants. If these were added in, as they should be, the total number of “foreign” prisoners would be far higher.

The type of prisoners being kept in British jails — courtesy of the British taxpayer — includes murderers, rapists, burglars, paedophiles and drug dealers.

The shocking statistics reveal that of the 192 recognised nations on earth; only 32 are not represented in British jails. The top ten nations of origin are Jamaica, Nigeria, the Irish Republic, Vietnam, Poland, China, Somalia, Pakistan, India and Romania.

In December 2009 it was revealed that more than 2,000 foreign prisoners were given cash grants of £500 as part of a bribe to try and persuade them to go home.

Labour thinks or thought that cheap credit, cheap imports, and cheap foreign labour were the answer to Britain's problems.
Well it was wrong, it is still wrong, and it will still be wrong next year and the year after.

No-matter where you look Britain is in dire trouble.
Massive personal debt but people still bang-on about banks not lending, can you blame em.
Over-priced housing because of irresponsible 125% mortgages yet there is also a lack of housing stock, so if you build new houses the price comes down BUT people with 125% mortgages default forcing the price of homes to fall even further dragging more and more people into negative equity.
Unemployment rising but we still have fools who say cheap foreign labour is good for Britain WHAT.

No-matter where you look we have an economy that is slowly coming apart at the seams, Labour are a unmitigated disaster who spend today but don't want to pay tomorrow, so is there any wonder that people have used the same philosophy and built up massive personal debt.

Here in Britain we have got to change from an economy that relies on home-grown sales into an economy that survives on exports, because if we don't Britain will go bankrupt.

'A Britain that survives on exports', of what? You need a Chinese style manufacturing base with a massive pool of cheap/slave labour to do that. You can only sell so many Range Rovers and Rolls Royces. Britain still makes a lot of good things but the scale is no longer there, and this applies to the rest of Western Europe.

Yes, I agree taking a degree has become very expensive and in many cases the cost outweighs the potential increased earnings. The reason of course is Labour. Their insane pursuit of a 50% target has pushed up the cost of university's hence needing to charge such a high amount. UKIPs policy of course is to reduce the amount of students and scrap all tuition fees.
Your points about foreign food seem to be yours alone, most families have at least one take away a week. market forces dictate that if there was no demand there would be no shops.
Commodity brokers produce wealth, when you buy your roll of Andrex and Tesco's own brand is BOGOF, you make the choice whether to trade off the cost now or in next weeks shop. You are in effect a commodity broker. They do pay FAIR taxes, if pushed however they will go elsewhere to earn their wages.

Your point on foreign prices is a fair one. It was my own fault for not making myself clear, It was late at night and I was thinking specifically of food and more especially African food. I do not condone Child Labour or unfair or unsafe working processes. I do believe though that given a choice and equal prices, we should buy from the poorer country rather than France/Germany etc. the reason this is not the case at the moment is the EU, its absurd CAP, and the EVIL tariffs it imposes on food imports. The EU starves children in Africa in order to featherbed French farmers.

Mr Yates
You get a fair days pay for a fair days work, the Socialists in power steal half of it, not your employer!

John Yates said...

UKIP, learn to read and you might make some pertinent and relevant points:
1) I never mentioned tax.
2) I DID mention the real terms, and in many cases actual, reduction in wages experienced by millions of British workers. There has been a massive increase in the number of exploitative employers who, thanks to New Labour's planned flood of cheap foreign labour, would rather employ foreign, easy to manipulate and underpay, wage slaves.
There is more than one way to 'steal' from people.

ukip said...

I employed Polish drivers, when there were no British ones available. They were paid exactly the same as the other drivers, They were good workers. On more than one occasion they would suddenly decide to go home for a month, but would arrange their own holiday cover!. My drivers were well paid, I would have paid them more if I could afford it. The fact I was paying between 5-8k per WEEK to the government meant I could not pay them as much as I thought they were worth.
I would also point out that nobody owes you a living, If you don't want the job don't take it, But don't expect me to keep you.

John Yates said...

You've failed to address any of my points but you raised the issue of Polish workers. When they return home every pound they've saved through living seventeen per rented terraced house, is worth about seven pounds in Poland. You can massively multiply this figure for other Eastern European countries, the Indian subcontinent and sub saharan Africa. In other words they've got a massive and real INCENTIVE to work harder.
The truth is, in a rapidly increasing number of cases you're better off being a foreigner in Britain now than a native, an utterly disgraceful situation and a true reflection and indictment of the 'new interntional capitalism' that in reality is exploitation.
I won't expect you to keep me as long as you don't expect me to work for peanuts.
