The Tameside Advertiser publishes the letter supporting Mr Billington and then in an almost unbelievable display of deception they insert a photograph of Willow Wood Hospice - suggesting that Mr Billington and the writer from Hattersley object to charitable donations being made to the said institution. This could not be further from the truth! It appears The Advertiser has finally dropped any pretence of neutrality and is prepared to blatantly distort the truth to support Roy Oldham and the Labour Party in Tameside.

KY and the team were spotted close to Millbrook today. They were at least 40 strong. The weather was dreadful but that did not deter these hardy campaigners.

There is Government legislation to stop Councils donating to institutions abroad. Cllr Oldham has to donate the money through a UK Charity to get around the rule. Liam is 100% right. Reduce our Council Tax, and let us give to the Charities we choose, in the quantities we choose.

Liam has more political knowledge and nouse than virtually anyone else on the Tameside political scene. If Boe Bells and Dicky Bumbler were not so backward looking, Liam would have the Conservatives challenging Labour right across the borough.

This is the same as Gordon Brown deciding to ringfence the ever accelerating international aid budget and grandstanding at the climate change summit by giving away £1.5 billion of OUR money.
This government has totally lost touch with reality and public opinion.
