Tameside Conservatives list of prospective parliamentary candidates

Rob Adlard

Julie Searle

Seema Kennedy

For a more in depth analysis of the proposed Conservative parliamentary candidates for Tameside take a look at Tameside’s No1 political blog Tameside Eye. Here you will discover that two of the three proposed Conservative candidates are anything but local. What I do not understand is; why not choose local candidates? The Conservatives have an excellent pool of local talent to choose from.

The insane Labour and Tory plan to always put British people last has been underlined with the slashing of the university budget by £533 million while foreign aid expenditure continues to increase.

According to Business Secretary “Lord” Mandelson, the Government is to cut university funding by £533 million next year. This confirms already announced cuts of £180 million and £83 million but adds a further £270 million budget reduction.

“Lord” Mandelson said the cuts would reduce the number of student places at British universities. According to some experts, this means there will be at least 70,000 less places for British kids next year at university.

While British people are being punished in this fashion, the Tory and Labour-supported (and “ring fenced”) foreign aid handout continues unabated.

On 18 December, Welsh Environment Minister Jane Davidson announced that the Welsh Assembly Government was giving £75,000 to the Mbale region of Uganda to “help prepare the area for the impacts of climate change.”

The cash grant was matched by the Department for International Development (DFID) to the tune of £100,000.

On 17 December, the DFID gave £1.25 million to an “international health links scheme” which provides “advanced technology” via the Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust to the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre in Tanzania.

On 16 December, the DFID announced that the “world’s poorest nations will be thrust to the forefront of the global green energy revolution with the help of a £50 million commitment from the UK Government.”

On 3 December, the DFID announced that it was giving £2.97 million to Jamaica. The money will be used to fund a scheme in which West Indies cricketer Courtney Walsh will run cricket clinics for young black kids convicted of crimes in that country.

On 19 November the DFID gave £34 million to Pakistan to provide “humanitarian aid and rebuild businesses and agriculture” in the North West Frontier Province and South Waziristan in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas.

In addition, a further £10 million was allocated to “help rebuild infrastructure, stimulate the economy and improve local agriculture for displaced people returning home following the recent conflict.”

On 19 November, the DFID announced a £10 million grant to the “World Bank’s Global Road Safety Facility” which will “make roads safer and improve driving skills in some of the world’s poorest countries.”

On 18 November, the DFID announced a £34 million grant to an “emergency health programme” in Sierra Leone.

Meanwhile, British people face increasing budget cuts at home across all sectors, as exemplified by the university budget massacre.

Anyone who thought the Tories might be any better is in for a shock. The Conservatives have promised even more stringent cuts and have intimated that tax rises are in the offing — while at the same time demanding that the foreign aid budget be increase

the whole party turned out to vote for our conservatives well done the fight is over

The Tories under Cameron are just as bad as Labour. In Oldham they are forcing ethnic minority candidates on us. Do consider voting Conservative while this liberal nutcase drags us down.

LOCAL Tories have blasted leader David Cameron’s “positive discrimination” policies saying Oldham’s election candidates have been forced upon them.

A selection meeting sparked a huge fall-out amid allegations of threats and candidate rigging.

Oldham East and Saddleworth Conservatives chairman Barbara Jackson will stand down in protest, while former Councillor Chris Shyne called it a farce after only five candidates stood for five seats.

But North-West leaders insisted they are “a lone voice” and that the party is fully behind the selections.

Barrister Kashif Ali was chosen to fight Labour’s Phil Woolas for the Oldham East and Saddleworth seat with Kamran Ghafoor taking on Labour’s Michael Meacher for the Oldham West and Royton seat.

Traditionalists have been angered by Mr Cameron’s plans to take control of shortlists to impose women and ethnic minority candidates to boost their numbers in Parliament.

St Albans and the bloody south coast. What the hell do these two know about Tameside? What's wrong with LOCALS selected on MERIT?
The Tories have just lost my vote so it's UKIP, the BNP or the Lib Dems.
I don't like expletives but the above poster is right.

I've not met the Ashton candidates as I had to miss the selection meeting, but it looks like they selected fine people who will work hard for their respective areas.

However, I can say that Rob Adlard will make a brilliant, hard working Member of Parliament for Stalybridge and Hyde and it will give me great pleasure to cast my first vote in a general election for him.

Good luck, Rob!

Don't worry Tom you'll never be selected by your racist Party leaders. You're white and male.
Also check out the proposed new 'Equalities Bill' that makes it legal for prospective Public Sector employers to discriminate against the one section of society you're in, white male.
Cameron lied about giving us a referendum on the EU Constitution and selects prospective candidates on gender and race ground.
Thatcher believed in a meritocracy, this bogus liar believes in social engineering, a fancy term for pure bigotry.
