British based drug smuggler executed in China

The furore and diplomatic fallout following the execution of Akmal Shaikh continues unabated.

Being an opponent of the death penalty I closely followed the case of Akmal Shaikh. What was quite obvious from the outset was that the Chinese were intent on executing this man. After all, China is responsible for almost two thirds of judicial executions carried out in the world.

Anyone found in possession of over 50g of heroin in China faces a mandatory death sentence. Mr Shaikh had over 4000g in his possession when arrested so the outcome was predictable. The question is; was Mr Shaikh mentally ill, and if so was China right to execute him?

The reaction of British ‘liberals’ and the hysteria created by the media before and since Mr Shaikh’s execution warrants further study. It soon became apparent the pleas of mercy were aimed at playing on Western sensitivities and focussed very little on the actual crime committed. The Chinese suggest Mr Shaikh had no prior history of mental health problems, and to be honest everyone consulted by the media during the vigils and as ‘experts’ on the subject provided nothing other than opinions based on emotions.

Heroin is an evil drug. Unlike cannabis, ecstasy and other recreational drugs, heroin ruins lives and causes misery to all those who fall into its grasp. If China were to pardon Mr Shaikh, what message would that have sent out to the people of that country? Also, why were all the bleating liberals and do-gooders given incredible amounts of airtime over the last 24 hours? I never noticed the views being sought from the families of those afflicted by the scourge of this evil drug.

And finally, imagine Mr Shaikh was in fact a European called for arguments sake ‘Mr West’. Mr West was not accused of smuggling a deadly drug, but he was accused of promoting ‘racist ideas’ in a country where promoting racist ideas carries a mandatory death sentence. Would the media, liberal luvvies and politicians have still been falling over themselves to try and save the fictitious Mr West or would they have been steeped in sanctimony giving lectures on how the law in the country where the crime was committed had to be respected and upheld?

Here is an interesting thought, in China many of our corrupt and self serving politicians would face execution if they betrayed their country like they have done in good old Britistan.

Thatcher was right all them years ago--- read what she told her ministers about letting more Asians in this country, papers released demonstrated her fears, but the so called iron lady melted and gave in.
Thatcher only wanted whites from other countries allowed in, she bottled it.

Was the man a British citizen he may have held a British passport but he was really a Pakistani, his Government did not lift a finger to help him, most of the heroin in the world comes from and or through Pakistan.
Big Money is made from the vile trade the Chinese have a simple rule deal or smuggle it in and the penalty is death, what do we do allow the scum who use it and deal it rule our streets, I know which country is dealing with the problem correctly.

Good policy from Maggie Thatcher. It is a pity she lost her bottle but she was a million times better than detestable Camoron.

The mental wellbeing argument is always brought in when the accused is obviously guilty. Executing drugdealers AND drugusers is an excellent idea. The bleating liberals concern is not to solve problems such as drugs, but to do things 'their way'. Look around you at 21st century Britain for the results of such an insane philosophy.

Orwellian is right. These self-appointed upholders of 'moral righteousness' are nothing more than cranks, and minority pressure groups pushing their individual agendas.

Juggernaut, the 'gay' lobby that infests the establishment is the best example. They preach tolerance as sacred, until you disagree with them then you'll witness intolerance, abuse, demonisation and attempted intimidation the Nazis would have been proud of.

Check out Nationalist's comments on the Fitzpatrick litter posting to see the truth about the Hyde Newton by-election. As for Denton NE, the pathetic Tory effort and more Labour killing themselves in a targeted campaign driven by fear of being thrown off the gravy train, plus the 'incorruptible' postal voting system led to that. Such tactics are impossible in a full campaign and 2010 will reveal the true level of New Labour's 'popularity'. The only people voting for them will be the thick, the insane, minorities with their own agenda - who could not care less about Britain, and those too cowardly or apathetic to change. Labour out!

'Minorities with their own agenda'.
All commonwealth citizens resident in this country can vote in a general election. So if you've just got off a boat from Papua New Guinea, Fiji or Pakistan and know absolutely nothing, and care less, about the history , culture, traditions or indeed future wellbeing of Great Britain you have exactly the same voting rights as a Briton who has lived, worked and paid taxes here all their lives. Now you know why New Labour welded the immigration floodgates open in 2000 as the vast majority of non-EU immigrants (and indeed the vast majority of immigrants) come from the commonwealth. Ain't democracy great.

The Queen's incessant and brainless promotion of the Commonwealth is responsible for a lot of the immigration problems we have in Britain today. Thatcher, who whatever you think of her was a realist, clashed with the Queen over this issue repeatedly but could not make her see sense. Look around you for the results of this deluded and ignorant policy.

We will stand a candidate in Staly/North in 2010 to help the Tories to hold on there, I'm not a natural Tory but I love England. My Old Labour party is no more, it's new Labour FAKE traitors now!

TC, why not put a posting on about the house building mania in Tameside. Castrol and Senior Service in Hyde Newton are next on the list, this despite the massive former ICI and Ashton Bros sites not even being finished yet, and that's in ONE WARD. The 217 homes proposed at Hartshead power station, which will have a seriously detrimental effect on the lives of existing residents of the area - who are non-existent as far as the Council are concerned - are the latest example.
What's behind this in a housing slump? Two words, white flight. Imagine what it would be like if the housing market was booming.
No wonder the Borough's roads are so clogged. P.S. This isn't just Tameside, check out the non-enriched parts of Oldham like Saddleworth. Uppermill has changed beyond all recognition in ten years.
Down South, where it's even worse, hundreds of thousands of gardens have been bought up by developers as brownfield sights become extremely scarce, to meet the unprecedented demand in the middle of a massive recession, all driven by one thing, Labour's thirteen year project of deliberate, uncontrolled immigration to 'rub our noses in it'.

Bob the builder, 'What's wrong with building more new houses and getting rid of the old ones'. What's wrong with it is what's in my previous comment; taken to the massive excess underway in Tameside it has a massively detrimental effect on the existing residents and swamps the local infrastructure re traffic, schools, Doctors, hospitals etc etc etc. The cumulative effects of overpopulation are always negative.
Where are these, 'old houses being knocked down' that you refer to? The newbuild don't replace existing stock, they add to it, and are virtually always built on brownfield sites, typically former industrial premises. TMBC are concerned only with the huge increase in the Council Tax take.
Meanwhile subnormal, ignorant 'pricks' like you are allowed to vote and influence the destiny of our country. No wonder Britain's in such a mess.
And by the way Anonymous, I pay my own rent.
