Latest Conservative leaflet for Stalybridge South

It was good to see Doreen and the girls out this morning doing their bit for local democracy by distributing this fine leaflet. The weather was dreadful too - good on you ladies - keep SS a Labour free zone!

What shame their leader Mr Cameron has gone back on his 'cast-iron guarantee' to give the British people a referendum on the European/Lisbon Treaty/Constitution. Out working your socks off for a total liar.
What do you say Tom? Or do you need permission from the local Tory Mafia before you comment on here?

GIVE US A REFERENDUM said...

I have only ever voted Conservative but if what I have just heard on the news is true and Cameron cheats us out of a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty I will never vote Tory again.

Tommy said...

You should know can never trust a tory. They are in the pocket of big business and big business wants a European super state. Onlu UKIP or the BNP would honour their pledges when it comes to the EU.

Labout til I die said...

Labour have the Tories on the run in Staly South they have never had to work so hard in what we is know as a safe Tory seat.
So whats changed then ? they have a Labour candidate who is out every week with party members door knocking and the whole ward is being leafleted again, Basil bless him is a very quite man unknown in the ward so they are giving all the publicity they can get, we have them on the run.
If we get a General election on the same day its ours another Labour gain.

There may be people SELFISH enough in Stalybridge South or Britain to vote for the Party that, by design, malice and incompetence has spent the last twelve and a half years trying to wreck our nation, but it's difficult to believe anyone is so stupid or naive.

True Blue said...

Keep trying Roy, but you will find that the Labour mafia in Dukinfield have stolen the headlines again they are at least six weeks ahead of you.
You stick to posting letters and wasting our hard earned taxes

Ok John will do, thanks fo the advice!

2010 said...

True Blue what do you mean six weeks ahead? The problems there have been going on for years! Nothing ever gets done about the situation. They get the headlines yet do sod all about it!

The way I was treated was nothing short of a disgrace. The local Tories are devoid of honour and integrity. It is no secret that I will be helping a rival party in the next round of elections.

How much engineered multiculturalism are you going to force onto Tameside in the next few years to 'rub people's noses in it'? A day trip to Gorton is a good clue isn't it John.

Its about time a local candidate give stalybridge south the respect it deserves. the Tories keep saying it time for change well its time for change in stalybridge South. A candidate who wants to help all the ward not just their voters. good luck labour you have my vote it was good to see you out in Millbrook.

Love him or loath him - nobody can accuse the stalybridge south Labour candidate Ky Marland of resting on his laurels and only making himself visible at election time.
and well done Tameside Labour Party for selecting a candidate who delivers what he promises.
keep it up Ky Stalybridge South needs you.

The above comment by Suzanne Shepherd was not made by her. She doesn't come on here and never has. I suspect it is someone in the Labour Party who is out to cause problems as it is just their style classless.

The real Labour Out. said...

What difference does meeting voters make. Why vote for a representative of the worst government Britain has ever had?
They LIED about the referendum.
They've deliberately flooded Britain with Third World immigrants.
They've saddled Britain with debt that will take decades to pay off. All the other major economies are showing some sign of improvement, meanwhile Britain, in thrall to the vast banking sector that Labour allowed to get completely out of control in size and behaviour, lags miles behind still mired in recession, with ever greater amounts of money poured on the banks who simply do as they please in the full knowledge that a pathetically weak government and Prime Minister will do nothing about it.
Only a cretin, scrounger or member of a favoured minority group would vote for this utter shambles.

labour out said...

It saddens me to say this but the Labour supportERS or residents of Stalybridge South who have left various articles on this blog are indeed right.
Basil do something you and your colleagues are beginning to let us down and if you cant get Doreen to help you. We all know she wears the pants at the Conservative meetings.
The rumor is this Labour Candidate has a lot of the community and ward behind him and they are prepared to vote and believe in him they think to it is time for change in this ward you call your stronghold. You must fight back Basil and get back in touch with the community you so dearly wish to fight for because so far the Labour candidate is beating you hands down.

"No-one I have spoken to around the cat park has been aware of any contribution the Stalybridge south conservative councilors have made to the campaign to save the cat park".
You have had five years to do something with it and yet nothing has ever been done until now and that took a local Labour Candidate to finally tidy up the eyesore you have neglected. This young lad has achieved it in less then three months and he is not even a councilor. And then to add insult to injury you decide to claim that the Conservatives have campaigned for a new community centre for Copley, coincidently so has the Labour Candidate.
Shame on you Doreen you should give credit were it is due. When was the last time Basil came knocking on my door petition in hand? I agreed it is time for changed in Stalybridge South

The national economic
situation is bleak with
businesses failing, savings
under threat and massive
government borrowing.
Only the Tameside
Labour Party
has the experience, unity,
determination and
prudential track record to
steer the Council and the community through these very
difficult times.
and a quick message for labour out
it was not the Government that got the UK in debt it was the public who spent more than they could afford borrowing what they could not pay back just to keep up the the Jones, and I would suggest you read David Cameron's lastest news he is trying to move away from mindless idiots like you who still beleive in class. up the working folk
the only cretin is you

Labour Out. said...

Shut up,
Who profligately spent the enormous mountain of tax revenue raised? Labour.
Who took us into this recession with the worst debt of any major economy? Labour.
Who encouraged the spread of cheap credit for short term popularity instead of promoting individual financial responsibility? Labour.
Who allowed the uncontrolled spread of self-cert mortgages (that have now been banned) to massively overinflate house prices because it made the economy look superficially healthy? Labour.
A government is supposed to LEAD by action and example. All Labour have done is lead the country to the brink of financial ruin (exactly like they did last time). But according to you, despite being in power for twelve and a half years they're not responsible for anything.
Resorting to pathetic and irrelevant comments about class and the 'working folk', - who have suffered more than anyone under the Party that was founded to represent them - confirms the utterly vacuous nature of your argument. And the fact that there are cretins like you who, no matter what, will vote the way they always have because they're too frightened to change or think for themselves.

Never again a Conservative Governement said...

Labour Out, before you start typing engage your brain.
Do you need to be reminded about your parties chilling and horrific past. Do you remember the poll tax riot? The saying Maggie Thacther the Milk snacther? would you like me to go on.

The Barber Boom (1972)
Anthony Barber told Parliament in 1972 that his Budget would add 10% to the UK's growth in two years, and he professed to be unconcerned by his own forecast of a £3.4bn public sector borrowing requirement.

He reduced income taxes by £1bn, and gave further huge tax concessions to industry in order to save jobs.

Unfortunately, events soon proved him wrong. Inflation soared, boosted by the newly-floated pound and the first oil crisis.

Within 15 months the chancellor was forced to bring in a deflationary Budget, and the government was forced into an incomes policy (wages freeze) to try to control inflation which led to a confrontation with the miners.

The UK's economic performance continued to deteriorate during the 1970s, and the stock market and housing boom went into reverse.

Lawson's 'Giveaway' Budget (1988)
When he announced his April 1988 Budget, he believed that the economy was slowing down to a sustainable rate, and projected a huge surplus that justified his income tax cuts.

But it soon became clear that he had badly miscalculated. Economic growth was actually accelerating, and the tax cuts and interest rate cuts gave a huge boost to the housing market, with house prices rising by 20% a year.

Within a few months, interest rates had to be doubled, the UK was running its largest ever balance-of-payments deficit, and inflation began shooting up.

The cost of bringing the situation under control was a severe recession under his successor, Norman Lamont, and a series of budget deficits and tax increases that did much to undermine the credibility of Conservative economic policy. would you like me to go on........
The idea that things like Sure Start, the NHS or tax credits are killing kindness is a crazy sign of how Thatcherite David Cameron really is. It insults the millions of families, neighbours and community groups across the country engaged in daily acts of kindness, generosity and creativity - often supported by public services and public investment.

"David Cameron says he wants people to take more responsibility, yet the Conservatives are still voting against reforms that increase rights and responsibilities in the welfare system and that are vital to helping more people back to work.

"The truth is that, behind the rhetoric, this is just a return to Thatcherism or 19th century liberalism, calling on the state to withdraw, leaving people to fend for themselves, and charities and community groups to pick up the pieces. The last time they tried that child poverty doubled."
I await your response Labour Out.....
one more point for you to consider
"British people now know what to expect when they hear a cast-iron guarantee from David Cameron on Europe: nothing.

"This is not about taking back powers from Europe, it is about transfering power to the Eurosceptics on his backbenches.

"David Cameron's proposals to opt out of the social chapter are unjust and would make UK employees second class citizens in European labour markets, with weaker rights than others.

"David Cameron's proposed opt outs are impractical. Renegotiating powers requires unanimity but can Cameron name other member states who want to participate in more institutional navel gazing? He does not need to promise future referenda because the European Council said in December 2007 that it wanted no institutional change for ten years.

"The consequence of his plans would be that, instead of spending the next five years fighting for jobs and against climate change and terrorism across Europe, he will spend the next five years obsessing with institutional change."

Labour Out. said...

Never again a conservative government, before commenting engage your brain, I am not and never have been a Tory. I was commenting on the appalling damage this government have done to Britain. Lawson and Lamont made mistakes as did John Major. The difference is THEY tried to rectify them. Major and Kenneth Clarke's spending controls were so successful in stabilising the economy that Gordon Brown left them in place until 2000. Then he implemented a spending spree of unprecedented proportions that, despite building a massive national debt which we took into the global recession, still continues.
Major, and indeed James Callaghan tried to do what was right by the country. Brown, Darling and this disastrous Labour government have failed to even attempt to reign in spending because they couldn't care less and know that the economic wreckage and financial devastation will have to be cleaned up by someone else.

Harold Forrester said...

Hear hear. It will take decades to clear up their mess. Brown won't tackle public spending because he hasn't got the guts and wants to leave the Tories as big a national debt as possible. His attitude is pure spite and sod the country. The worst Prime Minister we've ever had, and he wasn't even elected.

National disgrace said...

Never again, what are you on about? Brown and Blair LIED when they promised us a referendum, to secure the 2005 general election. Many people were stupid enough to believe them. Brown SIGNED the treaty, not Cameron or anyone else. Wake up and stop defending the indefensible.

Labour's record on the NHS beats the Tories' hands down

Yet again another one with a couple of light missing from the tree.
If you intend to start a valid argument then perhaps you should first do your homework and here is were I kindly come in, so that next time you wont make yourself look a complete tw*t. I am going to educate you a little I am assuming since you can type you can read.

When Labour came to power in 1997 the NHS had been brought to its knees by 18 years of chronic under-funding by the Tories. Massive waiting lists for operations were commonplace, even for cancer patients.

Let's just look at what else the Tories actually did when they were last in power, compared with Labour’s record since 1997:

* Between 1979 and 1997 the number of people on NHS waiting lists went up by more than 400,000, but since Labour has been in power the number has fallen by almost 600,000.

* In 1997, 284,000 patients were waiting for over six month for treatment. Today, the NHS is delivering the shortest waits on record with the average wait for inpatient treatment running at 4.5 weeks. Waiting times in city of Manchester are among the lowest in the country.

* Two million more operations are carried out each year than in 1997 – including more than double the number of heart operations.

* More than 89,000 extra nurses and over 44,000 doctors have been recruited since 1997.

* There weren’t any NHS walk-in centres in 1997 – today there are 90 around the country including one in Manchester.

Like motherhood and apple pie, the Tories say they would like to see waiting times go down, but in the next breath they say governments shouldn’t set mandates or tie the hands of the medical profession with top-down targets. This is further evidence that the Tories haven’t changed and the truth is that they cannot be trusted with the NHS

Now maybe the next time you decide to put any comment on this blog
Think first

Keep up the good work Labour you will prevail

Do Something Doreen Said.... said...

Dear Doreen, if I was you I would start whipping your troops into shape,
I have never until now heard of this website and had to get my son –in –law to do it for me. But I needed to get something of my chest, firstly I am a little surprised that you use such a site Doreen, moreover it the gossip that is spreading like wildfire amongst the party and its supporter everybody is aware of this site now and are all reading it..
The younger generation of Conservatives who we have selected and depended on to run this Council once we win. Can’t seem to control their tongues, it appears.
I am beginning to lose a little faith, which you must agree is a bit unsettling. I have always supported you Doreen, no matter what, but this new candidate in Stalybridge South, him with the funny name Ky, seems to be determined to win. I don’t think he is a paper candidate, like some say. I think he is the real deal, ambitious and smart, sadly to say. So please can you tell me are the rumours true? as a party are you in disarray? Is it true your candidate for north can not keep his mouth shut when he has had a drink? I beg of you for an answer and I will be writing to you very soon, unless I see Basil at church before you do. .
It is even on the grape vine that you want to be the local MP, and that you had David Buckley had a massive bust up at your last meeting, over you trying to oust the other selected MP, I have never seen anything like it before your colleagues all look like sheep ready to be slaughtered and that this is causing the party to split. This I do not believe for a second, nonetheless this is the rumour that is going round the ward… whether its Labour propaganda which I very much doubt it seems more like the BNP or I have heard some body called Liam? It damages our image. Doreen please I beseech you Do something before it’s to later.
p.s
Remember this my father god bless his sole before he died fought long and hard for the local Conservatives and if he was alive today well I don’t know what he would say.

What is going on in Stalybridge South, it’s like we are being invaded by the Labour Party Army , they are everywhere, its like an invasion of cockroaches, my neighbour only the other day was telling me that the Candidate for Stalybridge South had been knocking door to door campaigning in the pouring rain and that she did not usual vote but, this candidate Ky had made an effort to ask her how she felt about the area and what could been done. As a local Conservative who has always voted Conservative I am shocked to see that we are not out in the pouring rain fighting for what is rightly our ward. Please do something soon or they might be right and the thought of that. Well I would just have to move out of the ward………

Twas the Month before Christmas Poem said...

Twas the month before Christmas, and all through the wards
Labour Campaigners swarmed armed with their clipboards
Labour Christmas cards were hung by the chimney with care,
in hope from their voters that the election soon would be there.

Meanwhile the Tories were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of grandeur, and stealth taxes danced in their heads.
And Clive Patrick in his ‘kerchief, and Doreen in her cap,
had just settled down for a long winter’s nap.

When out on the lawns there arose such a clatter,
They sprang from their beds to see what was the matter.
Away to their windows they flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.
The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below.
When, what to their wondering eyes should appear,
Stalybridge North’s Selected Candidate after another session on the beer.
With a little old man, not so lively and quick,
they knew in a moment it was Basil covered in sick.

He was dressed all in furs, from his head to his foot,
and his clothes were all tarnished with dog shit and soot.
A bundle of Leaflets he had in his sack,
And he looked like a peddler, just opening his pack.
His eyes-how they twinkled! His dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, he had too much sherry!
His little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
As his dear friend David Buckley lay paralytic in snow.

”We have been for a beer” Dominick cried After all,
“Doreen it is yuletide”.
With a twitch in her eye and a nod of her head,
it soon gave the Tory Councilor’s something to dread.
And I laughed when I saw them, in spite of myself!
For it appeared that Dorothy may have shit herself
Doreen spoke not a word, but her face went bright red,
anger and disappointment ran through her head.
for enough was enough more than Doreen could stand.
Buckley sprang to his feet, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all fled like the down of a thistle.
But I heard Doreen scream, ‘get out of sight,
I am surrounded by fuck wits one covered in shyit!!!.
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!"

Labour out over the last few days I have become thoughtful of your apparent delusions of grandeur - a delusion (common in paranoia) that you are much greater and more powerful and influential than you really think you are. Just in case you did not know what it meant I thought I would explain. Nevertheless if you don’t believe me then look it up in a dictionary you should see your picture next to it.
Anyway again once more your brain seems to have misfired and your memory has become all of a muddle so I will remind you once more.
Gordon Brown honoured in New York as world statesman of the year Need I say more.
Hailed as a hero for "stabilising" the world economy and showing "compassionate leadership".
Does the saying “the lights on but nobody’s home ring any bells.”
Until next time, I await your response.
Yours truly,
Never again a Conservative Government.

Labour Out. said...

Anonymous, let me explain the difference between investment and spending. If you invest money in something like the NHS you are supposed to get reform and a proportionate return in efficiency and improvement. The NHS has been literally drenched in extra money since 2000. The relative improvements in performance are abysmally low and massively worse in terms of efficiency. Look at the management costs and staff wages if you want to know where the vast bulk of the taxpayer's money has gone. The cleanliness issue is a national disgrace and Labour's control freak target culture has got in the way of running an organisation that, if it was a business would have gone bust years ago.
Your argument is the absolutely typical Labour one, 'We've spent more therefore things must be better'. The truth is Labour have spent Britain into a disastrous financial corener, AGAIN, and it will take decades to put right. But don't worry you can always blame the Tories when they start their massive cuts in public spending. Brown and Labour will simply keep spending to the end because they've got absolutely nothing else to offer.

Labour Out. said...

Never again, if Gordon Brown is so wonderful why did Britain go into this global recession in the worst financial position of any major economy? Why are we still in recession lagging far behind everyone else? Why is our debt situation so perilous that there are constant warnings about its danger from the IMF?
After years of utter profligacy reality has bitten and the coming financial cutbacks that WILL happen will see Britain's public services massively reduced. The bailiff is at the door and Brown and his New Labour cronies are hiding under the stairs quaking in their boots and hoping they will go away.
Still at least he's got a nice award for his mantelpiece.

Never again, congratulations on acknowledging you have lost the argument. The wreckage of a six hundred and seventy one billion pounds debt built up by the catastrophic New Labour project cannot be denied, let alone by infantile abuse, cod psychology and an utterly feeble argument.
The Glasgow benefits claimants who managed to drag themselves out of their drug and drink addled stupors last night to vote for the Party that will keep paying their benefits no matter WHAT the actual disastrous financial situation, are testimony to the wretched state New Labour have dragged Britain to.
This site is not only for debating local issues. As has been established, you saying something does not make it so.
