Tameside court usher helps parking cheat avoid press photographer

A parking cheat who used his mother's blue badge to leave his posh Porsche 4x4 in a disabled bay seven times has been fined.Magistrates branded bank worker Shiraz Puri 'anti-social' before hitting him with the £100 penalty.Puri, 25, of Westminster Avenue, Ashton under Lyne - who works in a bank call centre - pleaded guilty to parking without a valid blue badge. The court heard he had been spotted misusing the badge on seven occasions.A Tameside council official saw him park his black Porsche Cayenne - which can cost up to £75,000 - in a disabled bay at the Camp Street car park in Ashton last October.Suzanne Hulton, prosecuting, told Tameside magistrates he was seen leaving his car and heading towards the railway station and did not return until nine hours later.Puri was then seen parking in the same spot, again using his mum's blue badge, on a further six days, the court heard. On the final occasion police were on hand to arrest Puri who told the officer he used the blue badge to collect his mum.He told officers: "She works for the council and I collect her after work." But Ms Hulton told magistrates: "She (the defendant's mother) was never in his company on any of the aforementioned days."Puri, who represented himself in court, told the magistrates he 'sincerely apologised' for the offence. Magistrates told him: "It's quite anti-social behaviour. Obviously it's a complete misuse of the permit."Puri was also ordered to pay £35 court costs and a £15 victim surcharge. An investigation has been launched following the case after a court usher helped him to leave the building by a side exit to avoid a waiting M.E.N. photographer.People who are found guilty of offences are usually required to leave by the front door of any courthouse.A spokesman for Tameside magistrates confirmed an inquiry was under way into the conduct of the usher. When challenged by the M.E.N, the usher said: "My job is to look after the welfare of the defendants. You are out of order." Manchester Evening News

Tameside Conservative very well said, i am a shop owner in Ashton and the number one complaint shoppers have is the parking consequently it has drained ashton of custom.

Anon - how do you know he was a muslim - blind prejudice strikes again!

It will, no doubt, be because how you pronounce his name I guess. Then Robert Stanley the former Mayor of Stalybridge must have been a god fearing christian ... oops, wrong again

The BNP need a 13% vote share across the East Midlands on June 4th to get that MEP, and in Broxtowe our candidate Wayne Shelbourn and his team managed to reach that target by the skin of their teeth.

The full result was:
BROXTOWE COUNCIL
Greasley (Giltbrook & Newthorpe) ward

Penny Spencley-Stevens (Con) 1125
Ed Jacobs (Lab) 600

Wayne Shelbourn (BNP) 301

Gwen Robb (Lib-Dem) 232
Keith Marriott (UKIP) 31

BNP Percentage: 13.1%

Now more than ever, British voters need to understand that they are being colonised. Unless they act decisively to halt this mass immigration wave, Britain and its thousands of years of culture, history and tradition will be submerged under the immigration invasion.

Conservative Values, I never said Mr Puri was a Muslim, my Dhimmi comment was due to your consistently hysterical ovrreaction to anyone criticizing Islam which is the most serious threat to the continued existence of our national identity. Haven't you noticed the distinct lack of criticicm on this site of Hindus, Rastafarians etc the vast majority of whom are black or Asian. It's easier to use the 'r' word against opposition than confront you and your Party's own failings though isn't it.

You must have me confused with some other Dhimmi.

Conservative Values, I think you should rent a room in Glodwick for a couple of weeks to find out where Tameside and Britain are headed. If you come back in one piece I'm sure the BNP would welcome you with open arms.

According to the Office for National Statistics the foreign-born population has risen by an average of 313,000 per year since 2004. This does not include people who live in hotels, boarding houses, hostels or caravan sites as large numbers of migrants do.
Britain is being colonised and the three main Parties are responsible through action or inaction.
Wake up now before it's too late.

No I meant you. But it WOULD be easy to get confused as Islamic apologists all sing from the same hymn sheet.

Tameside Conservative, you're right, if JB's policy was adopted, this wouldn't happen.

Shaunie, you too are correct, as someone who worked in retail for a good while, I found charging for parking to be a nail in the coffin for trade in any town. Ashton, Hyde and Stalybridge are by no means unique in this respect,

When John is appointed mayor he might just let some of you young pretenders have a go.

Well he wants that promised new car first, the one he's got is a years old now
