Father Michael Walsh dies suddenly

Father Michael Walsh, the parish priest from St Paul’s in Guide Bridge died suddenly on the evening of Friday 7th Nov. Father Walsh was found by parishioners arriving for the Saturday morning service. It is suspected that Father Walsh died from a heart attack. St Paul’s will join the list of eight Catholic churches in the Diocese of Salford with no dedicated parish priest following the sudden and sad loss of Fr Walsh.

Funeral arrangements: Father Walsh's body will be received into the Church of St Paul's, Guide Bridge for concelebrated Mass on Tuesday, 18th November at 7.00pm. The Requiem Mass will be offered by Bishop Brain, on Wednesday, 19th November at 11.00am in the Church of St Paul, Guide Bridge. His mortal remains will be buried in the family grave in Bury Cemetery.

Thank you TC for removing the hideous comments that had nothing whatsoever to do with the death of Father Michael.

"Cattle die and kinsmen die, and so one must die oneself, but some things never die, such as the fame of a dead man's deeds."

Viking proverb.
