A happy ending

The lost dog found in Haughton Green has been reunited with her owner – thanks to the laminated notices placed around the neighbourhood (Tameside Patrollers take note!). The very kind lady who took this dog in and looked after it until the owner could be found become very attached to the dog and was sad to see it go, but the sadness was replaced with happiness when she saw the joy of both lost dog and distraught owner when they were reunited.

The lady enjoyed having the dog so much that she intends to adopt an abandoned/lost dog from a dog’s home. She tells me she has been to Tameside dogs home today and they have three dogs in but has to decide if they are suitable because she has a young child to consider.

I have the utmost respect for people who take care of vulnerable animals. To visit a lost dog’s home sounds heartbreaking because sadly the dogs that cannot be re-housed have to eventually be put to sleep. If you are considering getting a dog – please think about rescuing one from dogs ‘death row’. I have never even considered visiting a lost dog’s home until today. Dogs are great company, a fantastic deterrent to burglars and great for keeping you fit. If you want to do a good deed why not adopt a dog? I guarantee you will not regret it because dogs are great.
