European Neighbours Day in Ashton
Talented neighbours put on a great show as New Charters tenants celebrated European Neighbours Day this week. And children were eager to master circus skills such as juggling and plate spinning. New Charter provides around 15,000 affordable homes across Greater Manchester. Together with its Tenants Federation, the landlord threw the party as part of European Neighbours Day, an annual celebration of neighbourliness that takes place across the whole of Europe. The free party centred on a huge marquee on the car park of the landlords headquarters in Ashton-under-Lyne. Live entertainment included Alex Lees, an 8-year old from one of New Charter's neighbourhoods, who currently features in Britains Got Talent TV show. He was joined by Irish dancers from Hyde, and vocalists ranging from the professional to talented New Charter staff. A Hog roast and BBQ complemented lots of activities for children, as the day fell during the school holidays. Almost 300 tenants attended. The party was all about strengthening our communities by encouraging neighbours to meet and get to know one another better. New Charters Director of Tenancy Services Tony Powell said: Part of our role is the massive investment weve made to improve homes. But the recipe for great neighbourhoods needs an added ingredient. Wherever people love living, good neighbours make the difference. We believe getting residents involved and developing the social side of life is important. Theres no better way of getting to know your neighbours than at a party!

More pro-EU propaganda fed by a quango run by Labour councillors funded by a Labour council!
I would like UKIP's view on this.
