Is Johnny Bowden standing in Stalybridge South?

Angela McManus is standing Stalybridge South for UKIP

If Bowden McManus are both standing this could cause problems for Doreen Dickinson.

BNP standing two in Hyde, Two in Droylsden at least one in Ashton and possibly two in Dukinfield.

So you have made your choice Kevin! You have opted for hate over hope. You were prepared to stab the Fascist’s in the back – but now we find you are back in bed with them. You do know we routinely record all conversations Kevin, would you like us to make your thoughts on issues of race known to your Fascist bully boys? I have the tape here right in front of me. Remember how Fascists deal with traitors Kevin. We did warn you.

We are standing 7 in total, Hurst, St Michaels, Staly North and South,
Longdendale, Godley and Werneth.

So there will be a UKIP v BNP contest for third spot in Godley. Looking at the stats - I would say it is likely UKIP will beat the Fascists into fourth.

No Taylor created the BNP in Dukinfield....I tell you now that I don't give a shit about a persons colour of skin so you can record that. As far as I am concerned non-whites should be allowed to be members of the BNP.
You can call me what you want but there is an agenda to what I am doing in Dukinfield. Last year a number of non-white residents voted for me. If the BNP don't like my kind of Nationalism then they can kick me out. I stand for all British people white and non-white.

Anyone know where the candidates list is on Tamesides site? I have been looking, but cannot find it.

Local blogger to be arrested by the police today.

Labour standing in all wards looks like the beginning of the end for UKIP,and BNP it is the end of the Lib Dems token candidates, there in a wright mess.

Anonymous said...

Tories in all 19 wards.

Anonymous said...

How can losing our Duki/Staly candidate and still having more candidates than last year be the beginning of the end?

Anonymous said...

We are standing 8 candidates in total in Ashton Waterloo, Audenshaw, Droylsden East, Droylsden West, Dukinfield, Dukinfield/Stalybridge, Hyde Godley and Hyde Newton.

19 Conservative
19 Labour

The rest may influence which ones of these wins each ward and will excite themselves about how much they loose by, but its between Conservative and Labour.

If UKIP dont stand in Dukinfield / Stalybridge that will be a Conservative gain.

UKIP & Greens may have a say in who wins Hurst

Hot on the heels of the news of the two BNP candidates elected unopposed in Carlisle, comes the news that a further two BNP councillors have been elected unopposed.

In south Wales, Kevin Edwards has been elected to the Llandybie Community Council, Penygroes; and in North Yorkshire, Sam Clayton has been elected for the parish of Bickerton in Ainsty. Well done to all involved!

No UKIP in Duk/Staly but there is a BNP candidate.

That is a typically snotty Tory remark by “Conservative Values”. The smaller parties are to be admired all the more because as you rightly suggest; they are not likely to achieve electoral success, but what they do is offer the electorate a choice. Before the UKIP and the BNP come along most people in Tameside could only usually vote for varying shades of the same thing, or a protest vote for the Greens. But now, in many wards, they really do have the chance to vote for something different.

Democracy is about giving people a choice on how they wish to be represented. You ask your ordinary voter to distinguish between the policies of your party or Nu Lab and anyone without a first class degree in politics will struggle to tell the difference. Whereas some of the smaller parties do offer radical alternatives, and unlike the representatives of the ‘mainstream’ parties – they are not in it for money or glory, but for the right reasons – and those reasons are to offer an alternative to the stagnate old gang clique and to reinvigorate the publics interest in real political representation.

Thank you so much old labour, nail on the head. A vote for any of the big three is a vote for the European socialist party, albeit different wings. Most UKIP candidates do not WANT to be councillors, but if elected we will give 100%. We really want to get on with our lives and careers. We feel duty bound to stand against the professional political classes such as Oldham, Parker Perry and most of the rotten canker that masquerade as councillors.
A common sense approach is what is needed, not political dogma.
Please vote for REAL people who have earned their living in the real world.

Keir Hardy said...

It's rather a good job they don’t want to be councillors isn’t it! It would be somewhat delusional if they expected anything else but to lose.

All UKIP achieve by standing against labour is to marginally increase their majorities. I’m sure they are not worried about that outcome!

Taylor and Wild seen going in to Lakes Care Centre on Lakes Road for a cup of tea and a few hundred postal votes no doubt.

Sorry CV, UKIP do attract votes from across the political spectrum.
We take as many votes from Labour as we do from you, our main target is to re- enfranchise the millions of voters that voted for Maggie and then stopped voting. This may well have something to do with the fact that tories signed 3 of the six European treaties prior to this constitution. Your party are as pro EU as Labour. You are part of the reason immigration cannot be controlled, part of the reason Post Offices are closing, and part of the reason we in Tameside will have fortnightly bin collections within a couple of years.
Tories are Traitors, you are as complicit as Labour in allowing the EU to make 75% of our laws. If you had succeeded in gaining a referendum on the Constitution the Conservatives would have campaigned for a yes vote.
I would be quite happy to see all of your heads on spikes in the tower of London, that is the only suitable punishment for selling your country out.

Hear hear, well said UKIP. You are without a doubt the most honest poster on this blog. The Tories are every bit as much traitors as Labour. Never forget the treason of the Heath government - he knew exactly what he was signing us up for. Traitors deserve traitor’s justice!

UKIP do fook all in Tameside. Even their website is out of date. But hey, here's another election and another tokenist attempt to delude the voters.

Want to be taken seriously, UKIP? Then get off your fooking arse and actually do something useful.

Thanks for the input TF. I do appreciate our website is a little out of date, this will be sorted by Monday, we were waiting for the closure of nominations.
We do believe giving 1200 voters a voice is democratic, I think we can guess which party you support.

Nice to see the latest issue of "Tameside Citizen" print edition, not to be confused with this blog making its rounds across Tameside.

From MEN's David Ottewell:

"Purdah, regular readers may be aware, describes the six-week pre-poll period in which government departments, council offices and other public bodies should not be making politically-contentious announcements. This is a quite logical attempt to stop the party in power from abusing its position for electoral gain. It would clearly be unfair, for example, for the Department of Health to put out a press release on the eve of polling day saying "Labour Supporters Live Longer and Feel Better!", or for Trafford Council to announce free speedboats for everyone who agrees to wear a blue rosette on May 1."
