I am not sure if that is official Tory policy to axe Tameside Patrollers, but I and many other people in Tameside are in favour of the idea to divert that cash on more propper bobbies on the beat. Just what do Tameside patrollers do? What is their purpose? Have you experienced any benefit from having a Tameside patroller? Have you even seen one on your street? No they are stuck in town centres and market halls looking for people in breach of the new smoking laws.

Boy did that blue leaflet get some people on top note,I have never worked on a campaign where such a ploy worked but I can recommend it. I remember this ward when it was all Tory they put huge amounts of work into it and it was all financed by the local demolition contractor and his wife,then along came the Lib Dems and wiped everyone out a superb three year campaign by them that reduced the Tories to nothing, in fact they did not even turn up at the count some years including last year. Then we had the tragedy of Peter wright hitting Karen and all the stuff about his past history still we had no work from the Tories until this year when they saw they had an opportunity all of a sudden they care about Audenshaw. Labour have been working the ward for ages even through the Lib Dem years Brenda Hilditch bless her held the fort while others worked like Jean is doing now,and I think the people of Audenshaw will respond to that,dispite the issue of a congestion charge that the Tories did vote for and their con on Free parking for the first two hours two big charities will suffer including willow wood hospice. I suspect that we will see some big Tory gains all over the country but not in Tameside they have let the people of Tameside down far to many times had they been any good Audenshaw would now be in the bag already for them and its not,I agree they would be favourites but I have a feeling the year on year work will hit home with the people of Audenshaw who have demonstrated over a long time that they will support people who care and not some chancer who is imported on the back of a false campaign just my thoughts.

Their apparent hard work is based on "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil" response to Tameside Council, whom they see as an enemy yet fail to recognise that their own kin control it.
I don't see how spreading malicious gossip and threatening Wizard of OZ style leaflets can be construed as the actions of the supposedly decent "community campaigner" that Jean Brazil portrays herself as.
The fact is, Stacey has come a long way in a short time. She is young and new to politics. Jean Brazil must have a 60/70 year head start on her, and yet she is the one instigating a childish an immature campaign. Why? because Labour's record does NOT stand up.
Whether, she wins or loses tomorrow Stacey will be around for a long time. She has been a great success and will enjoy more success in the future.
