Sexist/Racist bigots to stand in Tameside local elections! Use your vote wisely!
Ministers are preparing an equality law that would allow bosses to give priority for jobs and promotion to women and black applicants. White men could be legally blocked from jobs or promotions under controversial government plans to help women and black employees achieve equality. Employers would be allowed to give jobs to qualified minority candidates in preference to other candidates under a change in discrimination law being drawn up by the Equalities Minister, Harriet Harman. The 'positive action' tactic, already used in the United States, has been a legal minefield in the UK and Harman's plans are likely to upset MPs who believe that merit alone should determine who is hired. However, she believes radical changes are needed to help talented black and female candidates break through barriers in business and public life. The positive discrimination plan would apply only in cases where two equally qualified candidates were after the same post, allowing the employer to tip the balance in favour of the minority candidate on grounds of race or gender. The Observer

For the protection of all Tameside Citizen users I have had to temporarily moderate the blog. The reason for this was just after midnight a post appeared which urged people reading to click a link, the link lead to an illegal website which was being used to infect computers with a malicious programme. By clicking the link, your computer would automatically start to download a malicious programme called XP Antivirus 2008. I strongly believe this was a chance occurrence and not a deliberate ploy by a regular blog user. The reason I believe this to be the case was the malicious post appeared shortly after this item (Racist/Sexist bigots) was posted.
When a blog owner makes a new post, a ticker on the blogger main page constantly reels blogs with updated content. I suspect the slime responsible for trying to infect computers waits watching for newly updated blogs before he strikes. There is no need to panic and I will unmoderate again as soon as I feel it is safe to do so. And before anyone jumps to any conclusions I give you my word that this is genuine and nothing to do the events of a couple of weeks ago which forced me to impose moderation.
Spambots TC. I doubt someone would do this manually. Just leave the captcha on.
Cheers Liam, I was waiting for your advice so I will now unmoderate but leave the word verification in place.
IF I should die, think only this of me;
That there's some corner of a foreign field
That is for ever England. There shall be
In that rich earth a richer dust concealed;
A dust whom England bore, shaped, made aware, 5
Gave, once, her flowers to love, her ways to roam,
A body of England's breathing English air,
Washed by the rivers, blest by suns of home.
And think, this heart, all evil shed away,
A pulse in the eternal mind, no less 10
Gives somewhere back the thoughts by England given;
Her sights and sounds; dreams happy as her day;
And laughter, learnt of friends; and gentleness,
In hearts at peace, under an English heaven.

I spotted something odd about that posting so I steered away, in fact I hit the off button of my machine. Glad you sppoted it
Hey Wildy we are on to you and your fiddle with the postal votes.
New leaflet going out to warn the good people of Dukinfield.
We're no strangers to love
You know the rules and so do I
A full commitment's what I'm thinking of
You wouldn't get this from any other guy
I just wanna tell you how I'm feeling
Gotta make you understand
Never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you
Never gonna make you cry, never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you
We've known each other for so long
Your heart's been aching but you're too shy to say it
Inside we both know what's been going on
We know the game and we're gonna play it
And if you ask me how I'm feeling
Don't tell me you're too blind to see
Never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you
Never gonna make you cry, never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you
Never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you
Never gonna make you cry, never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you
(Ooh give you up)
(Ooh give you up)
(Ooh) never gonna give, never gonna give (give you up)
(Ooh) never gonna give, never gonna give (give you up)
We've known each other for so long
Your heart's been aching but you're too shy to say it
Inside we both know what's been going on
We know the game and we're gonna play it
I just wanna tell you how I'm feeling
Gotta make you understand
Just so people know, I am not the one posting the silly song lyrics....
Mr. West,
People thinking that you're the one posting Rick Astley song lyrics just goes to show what they think of your political credentials.
Moreover, the inane standard of political debate in Dukinfield should be an embarrassment to those who have contributed to it. That is, of course, assuming they know what the word 'embarrassment' means.
Mr Disco stop crying in your beer, if you have the ability to put forward a political debate then do so....but you have never made one yet.....why don't you stand?
Mr. Disco the real debate comes when you are not on the blog but talking to people on the streets, knocking on doors, giving out leaflets on the streets.....the nonsense on here will fade in to insignificance as the real debate comes in to play in the coming weeks.
Then stop contributing to the 'nonsense' and/or post something of worth. For every ill-thought out comment you leave on here you are feeding Labour leaflets. It is apprent you don't think things through. You seem to wear your heart on your sleeve, but that is not enough for you in politics. You will end up defeated if you are not a little more subtle.
You're not alone in the adding to the low standard of debate. I can think of at least another individual from Dukinfield who appears to contribute nothing but garbage to the debate.
This blog is called the Tameside Citizen. There must be more to the borough than the clod-hopping exploits of a few Dukinfield residents.
Mr Disco...lots of strange people are coming on this blog...You have yet to provide any such debate..so don't piss down my back and tell me its raining.
I could never vote Tory or BNP, but I promise I will never vote Labour again if they bring this piece of vile legislation in. After all the sanctimonious shit they preach, how dare they put forward a proposal to legal discrimination on the grounds of gender or colour. I want to see my local councillor condemn this on his website and if he doesn’t he can wave goodbye to my vote.
Good luck on waiting for John Taylor to condem his bosses
He's a joke which i believe to be everyones opinion no matter what their political devide.
Lifelong Labour should just stay at home on May 1st as his candidate in Dukinfield Mr Willd is not worth the walk to the poll station.
Roy stop posting in other peoples names like you do on Yahoo Q&A stop tying to kid yourself its an illness that work therapy might cure, and it free like everything else you get.
25,000 British Pensioners die each each because they cannot afford their heating bills..New Labour cunts.
New Labour may have increased pensions slightly, but that increase has been more than wiped out by the heavy taxation they have burdened on pensioners, in which case, I question Mr Grayson's argument that the reason he and his wife can go on holiday is that the Government have done anything to help pensioners in recent years, and that pensioners were significantly worse off under the Tories. The fact that he and his wife can holiday abroad will surely have far more to do with the fact that the cost of travelling has decreased in recent years. The stable economic state of the country may also have something to do with it – something with which the Conservatives, who Mr Grayson seems to loath, have much to do.
Far to many able bodied men wont work to easy to stay at home on a freebie, lazy scroungers who will become pensioners bet they don't freeze they will know all the scams.
PISS OFF TAYLOR YOU FREAK
Although I am not a political animal, I have voted for the Labour Party, in general, local and european elections, all my life. After the death of John Smith when Tony Blair became leader of the Labour Party, or as it became, the 'New Labour Party', it was obvious that Blair intended making major changes to the Party. This was apart from appearing to be someone who wanted to become prime minister at any cost and willing to jettison any policies that he believed would jeopardise his intentions.
Shortly before the last general election, when New Labour Party canvassers called at my home, the only reason that they could suggest for voting New Labour was that 'it couldn't be as bad as the Conservatives'. I did not view this to be a particularly sound reason basis for voting New Labour and I found it extremely difficult to ascertain exactly what its policies were; everything said was either sounbites, cliches or 'spin'.
I was naturally worried about the changes Blair intended to make and the lack of information concerning New Labour policies. The very fact that Labour had suddenly become 'New Labour' meant that changes were planned; however I doubt whether anyone realized that introducing the word 'New' actually meant jettisoning virtually all that the traditional Labour Party has stood for. Nonetheless, while suspicious of Blair, I voted New Labour together with millions of others who witnessed the Party achieving an overwhelming majority. I suspect many of the votes cast were not because of supporting New Labour, but were votes against the Conservative Party.
It was only a matter of time before it became clear that instead of disposing of a Conservative Government, New Labour was essentially a continuation of this in many ways. And no less worrying, was the fact that some of its policies seemed to be even more right-wing than the Conservatives. Indeed, Tony Blair, Jack Straw, and many other New Labour Party leaders all seem to be singing from the same songsheet as The Sun editorial.
Hey Johnny wag ex borstal boy, if the bnp are Nazis what does that make your New Labour party.
Although all segments of the population in Iraq have suffered from environmental contaminants, children have been especially affected. Due to neglect, repeated military conflicts, and international sanctions, over 500,000 children have died in the past decade. The primary cause of death among children is malnourishment and infectious diseases which arise due to a lack of basic health and sanitation services. The situation is worsened by congenital malformations and defects caused by exposure to radioactive material and chemicals associated with wars.
Hey Johnny the bnp did not take Britain into an illegal war..are you proud to be a member of a party that bombed and killed tens of thousands of children?
Britons are leaving the country in record numbers, specifically blaming spiralling levels of immigration, crime and tax. According to that newspaper, Government figures set to be released later this year will show that an astonishing 250,000 people fled Britain in 2007. That’s 684 a day, or one every two minutes.
This is a 21% increase on the 207,000 who went in 2006-and up nearly 70% from the 149,000 who left in 1997. Now experts expect this year’s total to be even higher as hard-pressed families seek a new life in the sun-with Australia, New Zealand, France and Spain the top destinations.
Meanwhile, huge numbers of foreigners are pouring into the UK, with 591,000 settling here in 2006. There has been a 90% increase in immigration over the past ten years-from 327,000 in 1997 to an estimated 620,000 last year. Emigration expert Paul Arthur believes the numbers leaving will continue to rise. He said: “We have had record enquiries about emigration over this winter, with people not just wanting to escape the bleak weather, but seeking a whole change of lifestyle.
Onething to note Taylor, at least some of these scroungers as you put it do not meet up with drug dealers like you do.
Far to many able bodied men wont work to easy to stay at home on a freebie, lazy scroungers who will become pensioners bet they don't freeze they will know all the scams.
Re. Inane Dukinfield debate: I rest my case. I thank thee...
Great post from "they all piss in the same pot". Your sentiments echo mine to a large degree. Still no condemnation from our local councillors about the national Labour party descriminating against people on the grounds of gender and race.
Gordon Brown has said donations to the Labour Party by a property developer through middlemen were "completely unacceptable" and would be repaid.
The prime minister said he had had "no knowledge" of £600,000 of donations from David Abrahams and they could "not be justified".
"The money was not lawfully declared so it will be returned," he said.
Peter Watt's resignation as Labour general secretary was "a necessary first step" but more had to be done.
Fucking good on em. There are too many lazy white slobs who think the world owes them a living. Let them taste some of their own medicine and see how they like it.
Enoch was right - we now hold the whip ha ha ha
