Dukinfield - Where dreams become reality
Buyers may be forgiven if they think they are dreaming at Barratt Manchester’s Knightsbridge Park development in Dukinfield. Three of the properties currently on release – a three-bedroom Maidstone and two four-bedroom Palmerstons are being offered under the Dream Start scheme which gives first time buyers and key workers the ability to own 100 per cent of a property for just 75 per cent of its price. It means that those who are currently renting or about to move away from home for the first time or whose work is crucial in the local community can have a place to call their own. Both designs offer a thoughtful ground floor with roomy lounge and door through to fully-fitted kitchen. The Maidstone also offers an en suite shower to the master bedroom. All three properties have south-facing rear gardens and will be ready for April or May. And would-be buyers may need to pinch themselves as carpets are also included, Stamp Duty will be paid and Barratt will give £1,000 towards the cost of legal fees. Also available to move into in July are Kentmeres – three storey properties which offer a shower or bathroom for each of the three bedrooms. Barratt will also pay the five per cent deposit and Stamp Duty. The Kentmeres are on release at £226,400 for an end mews property and £215,500 for a mid. The Maidstone is available at £186,800, but is available for £140,000 to those who qualify for the Dream Start scheme. The Palmerstons are priced at £185,450 for an end mews (£139,087 under Dream Start) and £176,650 for the mid (£132,407 under Dream Start). The development on Lakes Road, Dukinfield is next to Dukinfield Park, within a few minutes drive of the motorway and close to the town centres of Ashton, Hyde and Stockport and within a short drive of Manchester city centre. Still not affordable. It appears the only way to get on the housing ladder is to get married, which I have no intention of doing... Here was me thinking that Brown was going to promise more £100k homes.
The Tories proposing to scrap stamp duty will do nothing. It will only cause people to put up their house prices because they can do as there is no stamp duty to pay. You might as well give that money to government to help stabilise house prices and put money back into services such as education or health.
Totally unrelated, but has anyone seen Taylor's website recently? I think Brian Wild has been joining JT (Not Justin Timberlake) on the sunbeds.
Brian just back from Spain where he owns two properties, his son Peter is a travel agent and he arrages very cheap flights and holidays for him, thats why hes always tanned.
On a related subject it is a fact that Dukinfield is one of most popular palces for people to live demand for properties in Dukinfiled is very high (source Cheshire life )
Taylor Woodrow, you make an interesting point. Cheshire Life is one of Owen Oyston's former publications.
Do councillors need to list property they own abroad?
Dont know about listing properties abroad cant help you with that one.
Liam, people can't put up house prices if there's no demand so you point about stamp duty is misdirected.
Home buyers need all the help they can get with repossessions and bankruptcies having increased so much in the last 12 months in Tameside:

The BNP will crack down on crime and restore public safety and confidence. We will free the police and courts from the politically correct straitjacket that is stopping them from doing their job properly. The liberal fixation with the ‘rights’ of criminals must be replaced by concern for the rights of victims, and the right of innocent people not to become victims. We support the re-introduction of corporal punishment for petty criminals and vandals, and the restoration of capital punishment for paedophiles, terrorists and murderers as an option for judges in cases where their guilt is proven beyond dispute, as by DNA evidence or being caught red-handed.
John Taylor's blog isn't very user friendly. It would be much better if he allowed people without a google identity to post annonymously.
Do you mean allow West in to Fuck it up like hes done all the others.
