Earthquake/Tremor

Wow that was scary. I thought the house was going to collapse. Did anyone else feel it just before 1am?

It was really loud. Err in doors panicking – look there is a massive crack in the wall she said. Thankfully it was nothing more than a shadow and a figment of her imagination. I always though I would round up the family and perform a ‘heroic’ evacuation in the event of on earthquake – but no, I just sat there trying to figure out exactly what to do until it was over.

I felt it last night too. Thought maybe I was dreaming but googled tremor stalybridge when I got up at 6.30 and found a news report about a tremor in stalybridge on the 27th February 1904 and thought I must have been dreaming after all till I found your news report. How strange is that exactly the same day 204 years ago!

Yep, I felt it.......

Of course, its probably a sign of something, but don't know what yet. Wonder if Tameside will set up an emergency rescue and counseling scheme, at our expense of course?

I felt it here in sunny Poppleton.

OK I am going to go off topic here. But who the hell voted for giving Scotland and Wales its own independence and breaking up Great Britain.

The polls on here are great. TC, you never give much option as you can predict what the outcome is going to be!

I wondered that too Liam but have no way of checking, however I know the first time ‘Yes’ got a vote a certain poster with ‘of’ in his username made a post. I remember because it was when I was activating the moderation feature.

I cannot find any info on the news report detailing an earth tremor in Stalybridge on 27th Feb 1904. But it would be an amazing coincidence. If you have the link ‘anon’ please post it.

Hey TC, here is a report from the Associated Press on Youtube. Please embed the video within the article :)

Manchester Evening News has an article here.

5.2 it measured on the Richter scale! That is huge by England's standards.

For the first time in years the earth moved.

Roy Oldham kicked Margaret out of bed and it caused massive tremors in the North.

John Taylor did a massive fart causing the whole of Tameside to panic.

Please note that the above comment about Taylor is not from me.........I am being very good now.
