I agree with Mr Oldham. There are no similarities. Cuba was a Socialist dictatorship from 1959, Tameside does not even come close we have only 34 years of glorious socialism. The UKs longest serving leader is still 15 years behind Castro. Neither has been ostentacious with their wealth, and I am sure Castro has many millions more salted away than Cllr Oldham. So please Advertiser get your facts straight!
The Supreme Ruler doesn't mention the appalling comment he made about Irish builders, nor the sexist, "It's a budget even a housewife would understand," comment from Martin Wareing. Is the Ultimate Being suffering from selective memory loss?

Anyway just who does Roy think he is bullying journalists about their reports? It is no wonder people compare him to a dictator!
John Bell was not drawing any parallels between Roy's ill health and Castro's. He used the eample to note the pairs unusually long periods in power and that Castro announced he was stepping down. Cllr. Bell was just citing something from a current event. No harm or offence was meant - it isn't his style.
Anyway it isn't as if Tameide Labour party have ever made any malicious comments towards any opposition parties have they now?

Roy Oldham seems to be very thin- skinned. Why is he so sensitive to criticism?

disgusting comments by Cllr Bell. Imaging him doing Roys job - he wouldnt last a week.
What was so disgusting Sean? Shall we use another example next time? Mad Bob Mugabe would be more fitting as Roy shares the same personality traits.
