Reading this article in today’s Daily Mail made me curious as to the probability of this happening in Tameside schools. Halal ritual slaughter is a truly barbaric practice and parents need to know if their children are being served Halal meat without their knowledge. Does anyone have any idea how I could find out what the arrangements are concerning this controversial subject? I will guarantee 100% that Muslim children on school dinners will get Halal meat – because it is a religious requirement, but what about the non Muslim children that share the same canteen are they likely to get separate meat or are they just quietly served the Halal in the hope that nobody ever asks awkward questions?

Good point! Does halal mean they slash the throat of the animal and allow it to die slowly as a sacrifice to allah?

I have never heard that we serve halal to non muslims. You could put in a foi request.
I shall Sean. Halal meat is usually lower quality and yet is expensive due to its preperation methods. Does this have an impact of the cost of an average school dinner? Are non muslims covering this expense with their school dinners?
Oh and I have tried halal meat and it tastes awful. And before you animal activists start jumping down my throat. I was pissed at three in the morning and it didn't taste like other fattening food I eat to soak up alcohol. I fed it to the rats in Manchester City Centre instead.
